Continuing their ascent through the organic house underground, Mariner + Domingo return to Madloch’s Sound Avenue with a new three track showcase. The Belgian imprint has become somewhat of a home base for the talented American duo. A cross section of Mariner + Domingo’s most beloved tracks have come courtesy of the long-standing imprint, most notably ‘Le’ Carnival’, ‘Edenwilde’ and ‘Another Life’, the latter of which earned play, support and a Beatport chart feature from world class DJ and All Day I Dream boss Lee Burridge. Now as the world looks towards a period of rejuvenation, with dancefloors taking on new levels of satisfaction after an extended silence, Mariner + Domingo charm us once again with three stunning tracks across their latest Sound Avenue vehicle ‘Inertia’.

Already a favourite of organic house trendsetter Tim Green, it is the esoteric sounds of the title selection which lead the release off. Mariner + Domingo continue to perfect their craft here, with an amalgamation of carnival inspired motifs blanketing a rich, well contoured groove and flurries of exotic percussion. Void of any traditional musicality, it’s mystical charm might be its strongest suit. Coming to an emotional peak during the interlude, the Florida residents marry indistinct vocals with breezy effects, hopeful pads and harmonic swells for an understated yet poignant peak. 

Going deeper still are the charming sounds of selection two ‘I Still Remember’. Set in motion by a lush, DJ friendly intro, Mariner + Domingo open emotional centres further with fragmented vocals and Mediterranean musicality. A thumping foundation sets the pace going forward, delighting hearts and minds with its utopian flavour, as wistful melodies ebb and flow with the main break drawing closer. Colourful pads and processed pianos rise in unison across the interlude, offering a romantic lean and conjuring up transcendent imagery for all the deep dreamers out there. Essential eyes closed material for your living room or dance floor. 

Rounding out the release are the lush qualities of ‘How Am I Supposed To Feel’. Thoughtful vocal phrasing and organic percussion sit perfectly over punchy beats and pulsating bass tones. The duo’s drifting harmonics are beautifully interwoven, creating a vivid soundscape and magical transition into a second act of broken beats and vibrant percussion. A unique and impactful transition which ultimately spearheads further vocal edits and a delicate piano infused outro. It caps off another sensational audio travelogue from Mariner + Domingo, a fast-rising duo who always seem to put their best foot forward on Sound Avenue.

Mariner + Domingo - Inertia [Sound Avenue]

An artist with a growing portfolio of production credits to his name, Jayden Klight returns to Particles with his debut original EP in the shape of "Attraction". With his music signed to the likes of Sound Avenue, Dream Culture and Seven Villas, the US based artist has already released Particles remixes for Espen in mid-2020 and Loveclub, Mariner + Domingo a year later.

Full of organic and deep house credentials, the title track opens the EP with its delicate blend of motifs and sumptuous chord progression. A complex percussive groove and counterpoint melodies add depth as the track evolves, "Attraction" giving way to "Subtraction" and a clicking, popping rhythmic backdrop. A glorious array of stereo-panned effects and atonal soundscapes shift in a rich aural collage as a powerful beat and subtle phrases have free reign in the second half. "Distraction" provides a more upbeat vibe with its sultry chords and free-flowing piano. Set against a ticking percussive backdrop, a panoply of new sounds and effects create a timely late summer feel. Closing the quartet of original offerings, "Refraction" combines an organic and deep house feel with its long reverb tails and lengthy delays scattered liberally across melodic phrases and plentiful effects. Dizzying arps and organic instruments ripple across the second half as a broken beat anchors the luxurious melodic melange.

Fresh from the collaborative "Des Magiciens" on Nie Wieder Schlafen, Luis Leon and Haider Uppal make their Particles debut. Already a veteran of such high-profile imprints as L'enfant terrible, Manjumasi and Kindisch, Peruvian artist, Luis Leon is a rising force with his blend of organic, melodic and deep house vibes plus a smattering of electronica. Joining forces with Uppal, whose nascent career has seen releases on Traum, Oleeva and Dream Culture, the Luis Leon & Haider Uppal Revisit of "Reflection" is a smorgasbord of laidback rhythmic flair, combined with languid chord phrases. Paying homage to Klight's groove-laden original, dissonant effects and light-touch acid top line swim across the soundstage with ease as a glorious array of sounds and textures wander across the 8-minute piece.

Pakistani born, Zoi, has been a regular across his Karachi hometown before re-locating to Canada and developing his own distinctive production sound. A self-confessed sound engineer and producer, the Toronto based artist has already seen his work feature on such blue-chip labels as Kindisch, Dream Culture and Traum. A debut appearance on Particles in May 2021 saw a pulsating reworking of To Ricciardi & Dope's "Fusco", in partnership with Dustin Nantais, as Zoi now returns with a beautifully sculpted interpreted of "Distraction". The cadenced synth riff of the original is lain over meandering percussive groove and cavernous kick while beautiful new motifs twinkle into the second half alongside powerfully reverb-laden chords. Ambient field recordings add an elegant final piece to the jigsaw in a stunning new interpretation.

Three new tracks from Jayden Klight and remixes from Luis Leon, Haider Uppal and Zoi are full of magnetic "Attraction".

'EDGE begins their 2019 journey by welcoming Antrim to the label for his debut EP. 

Highlighted by releases on Sudbeat Music and his Or Two Strangers imprint, the Argentinean artist had his best year on record in 2018. A perpetual favourite of Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, the Cordoba resident now finds himself as one of Argentina's premiere electronic music talents. Beginning 2019 on a strong note Antrim now lands on EDGE with his much anticipated artist showcase Requital'.

Beginning with the title and showcase piece Antrim explores his pure progressive roots with a modern twist. The Argentine's penchant for warm, contoured grooves and euphoric themes is what makes this such a dance floor gem. Deep and rolling, its robust rhythmic core and buzzing electronics create an exuberant air across the first act. Soulful storyboarding adds hopeful anticipation, perfectly foreshadowing a tranquil yet spiritually uplifting lead theme, elevating the journey to a heightened emotional state. The peak time vibes continue with Let It Flow', a cosmic piece complete with astral themes and electric lines. Tonal creativities and a string of spacey effects converge in the ultimate sonic marriage, before a wave of celestial pads opens up an emotional reservoir to round out what is another anthem in the making.Already a favourite of label boss Eran Aviner, the third selection Sweet Revelations' showcases a deeper side of Antrim's studio repertoire. From stripped back beginnings comes elegant atmospheres and redolent shades, slowly descending over punchy beats and organic drums. As the narrative evolves so too does its emotive appeal, as a sentimental lead theme complements its esoteric motifs, perfectly foreshadowing a dreamy finale. 

Continuing to explore the deep themes of its predecessor is the EP's final selection The Beauty Of The Unexpected'. A warm, inviting intro sets your emotive centres on high as radiant themes begin building. Beautiful and haunting in equal measure, it's a concise yet stirring seven minute journey, showcasing strong percussive themes as charming choirs heighten the senses, delivering an effervescent elegance throughout.

With the 'Requital' showcase Antrim has set in motion what promises to be a breakout year for the Argentinean artist. Destined to be an important piece in his discography, it's a collection of music which further solidifies his place amongst progressive house elite, while continuing to forge new sonic blueprints for the future.'
