Premiere: Jepe - Jive On Wednesdays [Moodmusic]

It starts without rush. Natural sounds, soft pads, a diverse soundscape, open minded. Then the bass is coming in - straight and loud. A mixture of organic and electronic music, a mixture of old and new - welcome at the “Ancient Lake“, so clear and colorful. We are invited by Jonas Saalbach, a well known Live Act and producer from Berlin. On his first album he combines melodies and dancefloor elements, hard bass lines and story telling instruments.

We’ll find tracks grown with time on the album. Some are based on classical techno styles like “Driven By Madness feat. MZ Sunday Luv“ and “Hammada“. Others are made for listening and dreaming like “Thinking Of You“ and “June Gloom“. You can feel the spirit of summer in every number, the desire for adventures in the nature, the energy of the sun. Jonas Saalbach presents his summary of a year full of travels and studio nights. His cooperations with Paul Klatt for example, are an important part of his work. Berlin is a big playground for him with a lot of inspiration every day and so the album is like a story board of life, a perfect starter for a new season, energetic and unstoppably creative.

Durch seinen Freundeskreis hatte @franandco schon in seiner frühen Jugend viele Kontakte zu orientalischer, insbesondere persischer Popmusik. „Außergewöhnliche Klänge mochte ich schon immer“, gesteht der Musiker. Nun hat er einen neuen Track produziert: „Shah Parvaz“. In den ersten Teilen der Nummer hört man ein Kanun und gegen Ende die orientalische Flöte Nay. (...) Das Stück „Shah Parvaz“ kommt mit einer gediegenen Bassline daher. Kurz nach einem intensiven Break folgen die hypnotischen Vocals. As we all expected the beautiful story told by Nazca Records where the Viracochas and the Nazcas explore the universe of music and art in all its forms continues. This time Animal Trainer, a world-known duo from Switzerland that has conquered their audience with their array of styles and influences has made contact with our beloved characters. 

This next release takes us to the next adventure of the Nazcas, the ones that live for the love of art, and Viracochas, beings from a distant world ready to learn about us. 
They have discovered new lands and new artwork throughout the experiences of Animal Trainer who have travelled as far as the Emerald Cave in Thailand and the old city of Petra in Jordan.  
These two places has inspired the duo to come up with Emerald EP. 
On the one hand, the first track that gives the name to the whole project has tribal-infused percussions and ethnic grooves mixed with the perfect vocals that sound both tribal and like 90s underground hip-hop. Petra, on the other hand, is rich in balkanised melodies with progressive sound lines that distance this track from the strictly shamanic-afro house and throws it into an electronic spectrum where acid elements play at their will. 

The entire EP is built to give you instant satisfaction and to guide the most sinuous dance steps.

'Yet more goodness oozing from the Récits de Mars imprint.

This time Pontias returns to deliver three solid tracks for the OCD EP.

The title track is a dramatic and bubbly number, with 80's nods, but a
gritty edge, while label boss Several Definitions delivers the remix,
taking it more to the four to the floor edged melodic techno territory.

'From Nowhere' is a blippy druggy driver, hypnotic and energetic, while
the Ivory Thrilling remix adds some weight and takes this tougher and
adds tension.

Closing the EP, is 'What Might Have Been'. A melancholic synthy voyage,
with glimpses of light peeking through.'
