Heîk is the solo project of the Mexican, Hugo Ibarra, who is no stranger to the label. With previous releases under other aliases such as Natural Flow and  ostil, we now have the pleasure of releasing his debut EP on the label under his new moniker.

"Resilience" the opener track, is a beat-less intro, full of haunting melodies, pulsating synths and textures that play with each other building up a beautiful dark story. A perfect beginning to introduce us into the world of Heîk.

"Apeiron" takes us to the dance-floor mood. A great groove, percussion and synths start building tension throughout the track, leading us to the main melody, which is a super catchy synth pattern, accompanied by textures, pads and glitchy sounds.

On the remix duties, Gardens of God, who has also released on the label on Odd Echoes' V.A., reworks the track into a more energetic version, keeping the essence of the original, but adding a super catchy and fat synth, which takes us to another dimension.

To close the EP, He k presents another cut for the dance-floor, "Arcane", in which an ascending synth with an arpeggio style predominate through the whole track. Melodies, pads and bass stabs play all along as the track keeps developing.

"Halcyon" is the most emotional track of the EP, a perfect closure full of chords, textures and melancholic vibes, with subtle synths, that take you into the perfect trip.

Liverpool´s emerging talent, Massano, presents his debut EP on Oddity, with an emotional remix by Raphael Mader, who is no stranger to the label. 

¨Energy” the track that opens the EP, has a catchy melody and an energetic groove as the title describes it, complemented by pads that slowly reveal themselves until they reach the drop. Here is where the action happens, with a very emotional piano, and accompanying strings, that create a melancholic atmosphere, which triggers an arpeggio-like synthesizer, creating a beautiful synergy. 

Raphael Mader approaches the remix duties, creating a deeper, trippy and melancholic version of the original, developing the perfect soundtrack for any sunset or sunrise. You can definitely listen to the maturity and evolution of his production and skills on his rework. 

Delving deeper into the EP, we have the following two dancefloor-oriented tracks. ¨In Your Eyes" shows a deeper and more dramatic, yet catchy side of Massano's work. ¨Tangible" goes more towards the techno side of the EP, including his signature melodic and synth elements, which you can recognize in his productions.

Massano shows us some breaks in ¨Wrong With Me" giving the perfect closure to the EP. Beautiful pads, chord progressions and synths run throughout the track creating a beautiful atmosphere to enjoy.

Astral Records opens the month of October by welcoming AquAdro to the label for their debut EP. Based in Italy and comprised of Andrea Del Grosso and Antonio Castaldi, the AquAdro project first emerged in 2007. Inspired by the sounds of Hernan Cattaneo, Deep Dish, Satoshi Tomiie and more, the duo found favourable footing in the progressive music underground, landing releases courtesy of Bonzai Progressive, Stellar Fountain, Sudam Recordings and their own Revelation imprint. A shift in style has reinvigorated AquAdro of late, with a distinct astral techno flair to their productions the Italian duo has found a home on Awen Records, Three Hands Records and Valkyria Records. Now continuing that momentum, AquAdro add Astral Records to their resume with 'Nuwa' alongside a remix from Voices of valley.

Beginning with 'Nuwa' AquAdro deliver one of their most powerful productions to date. Led by a punchy groove, pulsating rhythms and astral stabs, its ethereal nature proves to be quite compelling. Dark and mysterious across the first act, it's flair for the dramatic grows as vocal fragments and sizzling effects elevate mood and tension leading into the break. Spanning over a minute in length, the centrepiece expands the narrative with a symphonic synth display and icy atmospheres melting down to a haunting vocal sample, as the groove drops for a thunderous finale. The companion piece 'Unicum' follows suit with more peak time flair as muscular grooves lay the foundation for growling synths and firing percussion. Ghostly vocal wails add depth and emotion as the narrative evolves, before a tense yet melodious break spearheads a devilish drop and charged finale.

Making their label debut and providing the lone interpretation of 'Nuwa' are Voices of valley. Formed in 2017 by Greek artists Valantis Likostratis and George Triantafyllakis, Voices of valley have achieved measurable success in relatively short order. Their dark, ethereal take on techno has won over the genre's tastemakers and landed them releases on BeatFreak Recordings, KATERMUKKE, Steyoyoke, Three Hands and Us and Them Records. Continuing what has been a prolific year, Voices of valley now make their Astral Records debut with a powerful take on 'Nuwa'. Combining pulsating rhythms with tough beats, crisp percussion and astral stabs makes for a sleek yet electric first act. Metallic arps roll forward, as layers of percussion push momentum into the main break. Grandiose and dramatic in equal measure, buzzing bass swells and cinematic pads highlight the centrepiece, paving the way for a clever transition into an effects laden drop and thunderous final act. A great complement to the original which caps off an excellent Astral Records debut for both AquAdro and Voices of valley. Don't miss it.

For ATL053 we welcome back 8Kays to Atlant following her excellent remix of 'Shiver' and stellar original 'Abstraction' on Voyager II. Now seems the perfect time to give 8Kays top billing. With a beautiful vocal from Diana Miro plus stunning remixes from Fur Coat and Musumeci this really is an all star electronic cast.

The original of 'Easy' showcases the sonic artistry of 8Kays as Iryna sets in infectious groove with heavy bass, lush chords, jagged staccato lines and perfectly judged breakdowns to add tension. Diana Miro lays down a mesmerising vocal, her voice full of soul with pure emotion coming through in every word. 'Easy' is certain to feature in many important playlists and charts.

For the first remix we called upon the renowned talents of Fur Coat, a longstanding friend of Atlant and owner of one of our favourite labels, Øddity. The EP closes out with an imperious remix from one of the most important genre crossing artists today, Musumeci. Steyoyoke Black finds great pleasure in finding budding talents like Aquiver. The Italian Duo makes their presence known with a cryptic, bold, and powerful 4-track EP, “Something From The Sky”.

The release sets off with the title track “Something From The Sky”. Dynamic, driving and dark, it sets a fiery tone for the EP, highlighted by its mysterious vocal in the breakdown. Its atmospheric bedrock, expressive pads, and galloping low end carry suspense into the tension stirring, equally rapid, second track. “Enjoy The Future” is similarly characterized by a rolling 16th bass, broad trance-esque breakdown pads, and a glitchy electronica arpeggio. “Quiddity”, the third installment, has a lovely vocal chop sequence and a rising pad synth that takes precedence and propels the track forward. “Duality” is the 4th and final track in the release. A constant flow of rising tension through the haunting saturated lead and hypnotic arpeggio, this track is the heaviest and most introspective.
