One year after his first appearance on Family Piknik Music, Russian’s DJ-producer CADILLAC EXPRESS strikes again ! His ‘Moonstore’ has been one of the top-selling tracks from Family Piknik in 2020 and he then signed other rockets on great labels like Siona & Beatfreak, proving he’s one of the new talents you’d better have under your radar…
For this new EP, CADILLAC EXPRESS teams up with his fellow mate EVGENIY NUZHNOV on ‘Ritual’, a very strong track between dark disco & melodic techno. Family Piknik boss TOM POOKS reworks it along with Italian maestro JOY KITIKONTI to bring a solid rework with a peak time tension.
On the flip side, CADILLAC EXPRESS collaborates with NOREQUEST, which is none other than the brand new alias from French rising star Hugo Cantarra, for whom the Russian wonderboy offered an outstanding remix a few months ago on our label. ‘Dark Means Disco’ definitely makes this EP a real crossover manifesto, with sparkling synths over a straight-to-the-floor catchy beat.

Astral Records continues a strong start by welcoming Paul Angelo and Don Argento to the label for their first EP. Hailing from Cyprus, the much loved duo have been regular contributors to parent label Movement Recordings, having appeared there seven times since making their debut in 2017. Often walking the line between melodic house and techno and progressive house, Paul and Don have become fixtures in Beatport's sales charts of late with a string of impressive outings via Clubsonica Records, Timeless Moment and UV. Now making a welcome debut on Astral, the duo presents a three-track showcase entitled 'Icarus'. 

Working well with the label's ethos Paul and Don lean closer to the melodic house and techno side of their studio repertoire. The title selection 'Icarus' sets the tone with a pulsating, hypno groove and a simple yet foreboding arp. Stripped and tense in equal measure, the duo build drama across the first act with rising modulation, percussive splashes and a backdrop of prophetic pads. Opening up during the main break, a wave of atmospheric swells rises momentarily, gently teasing the senses before getting pulled back in favour of the deliberate groove and meditative structures.

Single number four of 2021, called "Amity", comes from the unseperable Swedes Ito Cekaj and Rasange. The track brings you to a lush and euphoric break then crashes down into a heavy bassline driven drop. Utilizing a erie and hypnotizing pluck to keep the track moving forward. When the second small break comes you get a sense of calm before the snares start building into a even higher intesity drop with glitchy synths and a rolling bass. Keeping the track fresh throughout its entirety.

Second seasonal Ep for prolific Italian Dj and music producer Eleven Of July, “Dust in the Wind” is packed with energy, showcasing one more time his ability to build intricate melodies, grooving drum elements and suspenseful break downs. 

Opening track “A Secret Place to Hide” is a  definition of precision, power and elegance. We don’t know if that “secret place” would be some underground club, but the rhythmic synths, sitting on the heavy drive of the low end, would surely move every dance floor. 

Title track “Dust the Wind” explores the romantic side that Eleven Of July’ fans are certainly used to. Accompanied by a memorable synths work and dreamy choirs, it proceeds with a touch of nostalgic feel that encourage us to know more about the story behind the notes.

About the artist
Eleven Of July is the musical project of an eclectic dj / live performer, music composer/producer and remixer from Rome, Italy.

By favouring the vinyl’s warmth, Eleven Of July expresses his art through both dreamy and magnetically dark melodies. Performing already in different European countries and in front of big crowds of cities like Rome and Berlin, Eleven Of July exported his sound signature overseas, performing in Thailand and in the most underground clubs of Bangkok. 

Beside his recognized talent behind the decks, in 2017 his project as a music producer took off, making immediate buzz, with releases on top labels such as Suah, KDB, Natura Viva, Natura Viva Black, Awen Records, Wood, Black Square, Kitchen, Dear Deer and many others, reaching several times the Beatport top Charts.

His dark and atmospheric melodic techno has been already recognized and supported by artists like: Hollen, Locodice, Dubfire, Cattaree, Richard Cleber, Dj Tennis, Rache, &ME, Atlant, Andi Durrant, Las Von, Citizen Kain, Undercatt, Rafael Cerato and many more. 

Just like in his previous records, his Dj mixes  combine different genres gracefully, affirming the idea that electronic music can be combined to create puzzles, always telling a unique, and different story.
