Having made a name for himself with a constant output of unique releases, Ber- nese artist Geplantes Nichtstun debuts on Heimlich with his „Illusion of Knowled- ge“ EP. Like a lonesome rider in the desert, the opening track „Schub“ combines dusty guitar sounds and detuned arpeggios, with subtle vocal snippets and orga- nic percussions adding a touch of saloon atmosphere. „Spagat“ is an aptly titled balancing act between playful lead sounds and wind players adding an extra layer to the arrangement. Led by the extraordinary vocals of Christine, building upon a foundation of powerful but clear drum sounds and a predominant bass- line „Remember Me“ is an energetic banger. Berlin-based Santi & Tugce trans- form „Schub“ into an emotional hymn by adding drum recordings as well as an arpeggio line as the center of attention, putting the original‘s guitar samples to creative use. Up-and-coming Überhaupt & Außerdem keep up the vibe of the ori- ginal in their interpretation of „Schub“ while replacing the bassline to add some extra power. „The Illusion of Knowledge“ is a diverse EP, leaving you with the sub- tle and strangely satisfying feeling that you might have heard everything there is you need to know for now.

Iconic French electronic artist Kiko returns to Watergate Records and brings a legend along for the ride as The Hacker makes his label debut.
 
We got our first taste of Kiko on the Oberbaumbrücke imprint when he teamed with another lofty French artist POPOF to craft the supreme ‘Night Sky’ EP released last May. 
 
Kiko sonic passions span techno, electro and Italo Disco, all of which bleed into one another on his latest ‘Data Entry’ EP. The title track is a melting pot of chugging basslines, crushing percussion, an attitude-packed vocal and slick melody line. The Hacker, who Kiko sees as his “brother, mentor and family”, blesses the release with a re-rub of the title track, teasing out the robotic elements to craft a remix that’s both full-bodied, yet ice-cool. 
 
Kiko then reinforces his love of collaborations, teaming with Lucye, considered one of the most exciting artists of the new generation in France. Initially meeting at a local bar in their hometown of Grenoble, they bonded over their shared love of Italo Disco and continue this celebration with the exuberant jam, ‘Orange Fizz’.

'London-born artist N1NJA debuts on Mobilee Records with a mesmerising melodic techno offering, ‘A Frequency Illusion’.

Described by DJ Mag as a ‘mega-talented, fast-rising star’, DJ, podcaster and producer N1NJA, whose real name is Farah Nanji, is heavily influenced by her roots from the Indian and African subcontinents, which come together in her DJ sets and productions, the latest of which is for the Mobilee imprint.

“Based on the Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon, ‘A Frequency Illusion’ is a hypnotic progressive techno track that draws inspiration from the elusive, mysterious nature of ninjas and how sound can alter the perception of time and space” - N1NJA.

The title track 'A Frequency Illusion' is a spellbinding ride through euphoric soundscapes that transport the listener to a starry landscape. Glistening synth leads, soaring pads and organic percussion coalesce in a hypnotising fashion that mirrors the fluidity of a ninja.

Next up, ‘London Blues’ is a slow-blooming cut that ventures into sparser electronic territories. Cavernous bass stabs and tribal drums are guided by a clean blues guitar lead that ebbs and flows between the intricate pockets of space, making for a moving finale inspired by the streets of London.

Farah’s impact extends beyond her artistic endeavours; her TEDx Talk on overcoming neurodiversity as a musician and interviews with industry heavyweights like Carl Cox and Alan Fitzpatrick on her number one podcast series Mission Makers have shed light on much of the underground music scene’s biggest misconceptions.

This is an artfully crafted release that showcases the depth of N1NJA’s sound palette, ‘A Frequency Illusion’ is released on Mobilee on 7th April 2023.'

'D.Vices is a project of experienced American producer Jack Coleman, who makes his first-ever appearance on ZEN DNA. The Portland-based artist is a successful performer, DJ, and producer who built an international reputation under the techno moniker JAK. His diverse background and unique approach to production result in a carefully engineered sound, skillful arrangements, and a high dosage of emotional charge.

His brand new three-track material ranges from old-school-influenced pieces to otherwordly futuristic sounds.

The opening track, Infinite Universe (feat. Gadgetz), sets the structure throughout the release. The Futurist is a nostalgic peak of the album and a perfect treat for a seasoned audience. The closing piece, Tides, thoroughly sticks the landing with its smooth melody and downtempo vibe, leaving enough room for future D.Vices releases.

You’re going through a moment where looking at yourself in the mirror and understanding who you really are and what you really want is inevitable. Washing your face with cold water, Pakkio Sans is the moment prior to opening your eyes and staring at your reflection in the mirror with the face still wet. It can be pain and joy at the same time, it is dealing with your sensibility, something that grows naturally within you. It is something you have known, and yet something you don't know what's gonna be. 

Carlo Pacioni, the man behind Pakkio Sans, talks about his music as if clear images floating in his mind. Are they real or just dreams?

He becomes familiar with the clubbing scene during his residency at Narciso: three years of collaboration give him the chance to play with the best worldwide-known artists: Solomun, Art Department, Kerry Chandler, Dj Tennis, Fur Coat, &Me, Adam Port, Satoshi Tomiie, Tiga and many more.

'Austrian artist and DJ Marcus Cito is entering the realm of techno music with his debut release on Berlin based Teenage Mutants' label Tragedie.

Sharp and precise synth patterns combined with a driving deep low end define all these three new and unique interpretations of the genre. The “Porto” EP is therefore the perfect match for any melodic and peak time Techno enthusiast, looking for a memorable experience.

“Porto” enters the room with a loud and distinctive sounding power drill synth. It is the musical version of an energetic boxing fight ending with a full knock out at the second drop.

“Discendo” is built upon a raw aggressive synth blended in nicely with a dreamy pluck pattern. The overall majestic feeling of the record finds its peak during the dynamic breakdown followed by an unrestrained and distorted impact.

“Aeronautico” takes its passengers to space and lets them throw a techno rave on the balcony of Jupiter. Every single element adds towards the surreal and futuristic feeling of the record.'

Over the years, Berlin has been cited as Oliver Koletzki's main point of reference and, more importantly, his endless source of inspiration. His albums Großstadtmärchen and Großstadtmärchen 2 are wholehearted tributes of the German capital, as its importance is continuously hinted and charted. Friedrichshain, one of Berlin's vibrant districts, has always held a special place in Oliver's heart. This is where he started out when he first moved to the city, and this is where he lives now. Kreuzberg's wall paintings adorn Stil vor Talent's cover sleeves and host their headquarters. There are little to no corners in the city that haven't brought a spark of inspiration into the mix. The Schneeweiss compilation series, now at its 15th installment, is built as a form of tribute to all these particles, tied in together into a series of carefully curated tracks. Each compilation stands at the intersection of the musical and cultural surroundings most prominent of their respective times, acting both as a reminder as well as a timeless sound capsule for the years to come.
