Coming out as one of the most talented Argentinean producers, John Cosani, was inspired from a young age by a wide spectrum of influences from Depeche Mode to Daft Punk. Now signed to some of the scene's best labels such as Onedotsixtwo, Balance and Mango Alley, John's kaledascopic sound is soundtracking the world's dance floors.

Opening with 'Hericium', a deep, rubbery groove gives way to electric synths and spiky FX. Earworm hooks and otherworldly feels greet the breakdown adding a new energy in the second half. On the flipside, 'Hoba' is a deeper, more thought-provoking cut. Icy pads underlay the skippy percussion as tension builds. Melancholy keys cut through midway and develop in the break to create an air of serene calm. Perfect warm down vibes.

Clubsonica Records opens the fall season by welcoming Juan Sapia back to the label for a new EP. Hailing from the progressive house hotbed of Argentina, Juan Sapia has enjoyed a steady rise since first emerging in 2017. As a favourite of progressive music tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, the Buenos Aires resident has compiled an impressive resume, landing releases on top tier imprints such as Mango Alley, Or Two Strangers, Sudbeat Music, and The Soundgarden. Also calling Clubsonica home, Juan made his label debut in June of last year with 'Masana | Embrace', a well-received joint project with Sri Lankan artist Hasith. Now, returning to the label in solo capacity, Juan unveils his second Clubsonica project 'Holy Grail | Space Turtle', alongside remixes from Greg Ochman and Ethereal Mist.

Getting the release underway and sitting as one of Juan's biggest productions to date is 'Holy Grail'. Warm beats and a full, rolling groove set the foundation for a narrative of colourful arps, cosmic effects and heartfelt harmonics. Pushing a trance-inspired mood into the break; Juan marries emotive chord changes with symphonic synth swagger across the mood lifting interlude, building emotion with each successive pass as melodies open, before eventually giving way to a thumping drop and key changing finale. The companion piece 'Space Turtle' continues the trance-inspired lean of the release and lands with an equally impressive display of craftsmanship. Smooth and uplifting throughout, it's a collage of warm pulsating beats, retro-arps and balmy pads which captivate leading into the break. Charming synth phrases and delicate arps further the story as the centrepiece unfolds, bringing with them hopeful moods and transcendent vibes, before a tasteful drop puts your senses on high for a groovy conclusion.

Returning to the label with the lone interpretation of 'Holy Grail' is Greg Ochman. Hailing from Poland, Greg first emerged in 2021 with a release via Sebastian Leger's Lost Miracle. Comprised of three tracks, this organic offering would lead to future releases for Kiksuya Records, Plattenbank, Radiant and Warung Recordings. Clubsonica was also one of Greg's first landing spots, with April of 2021 marking his label debut with the thematic sounds of 'Mistlove'. Smooth and groovy across the first movement, Greg continues his stylized ways with youthful vocal elements, sleek percussive arrangements and whimsical melodies creating a colourful path into the main break. Sitting comfortably in an emotive yet thought provoking space, joyous melodies and percussive flurries rise out of calming atmospheres as the interlude evolves, eventually breaking off into a heartwarming drop and charming finale.

The release concludes with Ethereal Mist with the lone interpretation of 'Space Turtle'. Hailing from Colombia and perhaps best known for his Parallel Universe alias alongside Mauro Pierotti, Ethereal Mist has been a fixture of his country's electronic music scene for the better part of a decade. Clubsonica has been a familiar landing spot for his progressive minded productions, with a 2016 debut setting the course for three additional projects across the next two calendar years. From warm, rhythmic beginnings comes redolent themes and heartfelt sonics. Gentle flutters build and balmy atmospheres emerge, perfectly setting the stage for shimmering melodies and clattering percussion to forge a path into the break. Carrying the trance-inspired mood of the original, the Colombian creates moments of hope and elation as the centrepiece evolves, before smoothly segueing into a thumping finale which is sure to send people home with a smile. A stunning remix from Ethereal Mist, which rounds out a welcome return to Clubsonica for Juan Sapia, an artist who continues to impress and rise in the world of progressive house.

A debut on Sound Avenue foreshadowed what has been a four-year creative swell for the Melbourne resident. A string of well-received projects for Balance Music, Plattenbank, Proton Music and Sound Avenue have yielded play and support from Guy Mantzur, Eelke Kleijn and Nick Warren. Meanwhile, hailing from the progressive house hotbed of Argentina, Juan Sapia has enjoyed a similar rise to success since first emerging in 2017. As a favourite of progressive music tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, the Buenos Aires resident has compiled an impressive resume, landing releases via Mango Alley, Or Two Strangers, Sudbeat Music and The Soundgarden. Now, combining their extensive forces for the first time, Eric and Juan debut on EDGE with ‘Diamonds’, alongside a remix from Eran Aviner & Hermanez. 

EP opener and title selection ‘Diamonds’ finds that perfect balance between rhythm and musicality, as Eric and Juan let hopeful atmospheres descend over warm beats and layers of dusty drums. Thematically distinct moving forward, soulful strums and scenic vocal edits ring out in timeless suspension, elevating mood while providing a bridge into the main break. As the progressive grooves and swaying rhythms of opener ‘Aura' unfold, it's clear that Juan's craft must be taken to heart. Renowned for his trance-inspired melodies, the Buenos Aires resident opts for a deeper approach here, working placid pads over dulcet grooves and dusty percussive arrangements. Building patiently across the first movement, its creamy tones and heartfelt harmonies marry beautifully during a transcendent break, before layers of wind-swept sonics cue a gorgeous drop and glowing finale. Beneath the calming waves of ‘Aura' lies a tastefully melodic production entitled ‘Forest Song'. Evoking a confident club energy from the start, Juan's colourful sonics, emotionally resonant hooks and nostalgic melodies blanket a tight yet groovy framework. Returning to the label for the lone interpretation of ‘Aura' is Paul Deep. With a career that spans the better part of a decade, the Argentinean artist has compiled an impressive resume along the way, landing releases via All Day I Dream, Tale & Tone, The Soundgarden and Sudbeat. World class DJs Lee Burridge, Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren have all been steadfast supporters of Paul's sound. With his year being highlighted by an EP for Dmitry Molosh's Proportion imprint, Paul now makes a welcome return to Clubsonica with a stellar rendition of ‘Aura'. Focusing on a slightly darker monochrome, the Buenos Aires resident goes deep and techy for what results in a heady nine-minute journey. Rebounding rhythms and deep chugging basslines set the course for snatches of flickering percussion and growling stabs. Looking to bring a greater emotional response, the main break shifts the narrative through heartfelt chord changes and trance-inducing melodies, before a wave of white noise perfectly sets up a stripped back drop and meditative finale. 

The release concludes with Leo Guerrero making his label debut with the lone interpretation of ‘Forest Song'. Hailing from Colombia, new  inspirations led Leo to progressive music where he restarted his production journey under his own name, while finding a home on Antrim's Strangers Beats and D-Nox's Sprout. Continuing on this explorative path, the Medellin resident now adds Clubsonica to his resume with a powerful take on ‘Forest Song'. Beginning with a buoyant kick and galloping groove, the Colombian artist channels the melodic energy of the original through panoramic synths and percolating arps, before a deconstructed take on the main musical theme emerges across the break, perfectly setting up a thrilling peak-time finale. A gorgeous interpretation from Leo, which rounds out a must have return to Clubsonica for Juan Sapia, an artist who continues to stand out in Argentina's progressive house landscape.

Roger Martinez's Higher States imprint continues a strong start to their journey by welcoming GMJ to the label for his debut EP. Based in Melbourne, Australia GMJ aka Gavin Martin has been a primary figure in the progressive house scene for over a decade. His passion for deep and emotive electronic music has seen him land releases on the industry's most esteemed imprints. From Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music to Cid Inc’s Replug Records and UK behemoth Anjunadeep, it's GMJ's storytelling style that continues to surprise and inspire even the genre's most discerning fans. Now following an EP for US conglomerate Proton Music, GMJ debuts on Higher States with the much anticipated 'Enter Universe' artist showcase.

Spread across three tracks it's the warm, redolent grooves of the title selection which gets the release underway. The seven minute journey effortlessly melds organic percussion, arcane atmospheres and hazy harmonic concepts, for what results in a travelogue of mystical audio. Delicate yet powerful it perfectly sets the stage for the peak time flavoured 'Multiverse'. It's astral designs and percussion cadence prove instantly compelling, while a foundation of pulsating beats and electric rhythms continues to drive momentum forward. The Cordoba resident and Or Two Strangers boss continues to be a favourite of progressive music tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, while laying claim to releases on Sudbeat Music and Hope Recordings. A prolific 2020 saw Antrim collaborate with fellow progressive music stars Interaxxis and Alex O'Rion, for releases on Cid Inc's Replug Records and Roger Martinez's Higher States, along with a solo outing for Guy Mantzur's Plattenbank Records and his chart topping Or Two Strangers vehicle 'Black Night'. Now starting the new year in style, Antrim returns to Clubsonica with 'Hoffnung', alongside remixes from Shai T and Rauschhaus.

Although best known for his progressive minded productions, Antrim often finds himself in the creative space between organic and progressive house. Such is the case with 'Hoffnung' which plays out over seven enchanting minutes. A narrative of warm swells and choir-like pads layer voluptuous bass lines and organic drums. Acting as a thematic core, the centrepiece showcases fluttery synth concepts; charming in design while moving fluidly across a radiant underbelly, as wispy effects and a rush of drums smoothly segues into a heavenly finale.

The first interpretation of 'Hoffnung' is provided by Shai T who makes his label debut. The Israeli artist has been riding a wave of success through the landscape of organic house. Now as a regular in the Organic House Beatport Top 10, Shai makes his much anticipated Clubsonica debut with a gorgeous take on 'Hoffnung'. Always a creative remixer, the Israeli artist expands on the emotive qualities of the original with a truly breathtaking production. Full, warm and undeniably organic; it's buoyant low end, airy vocal phrasing and exotic percussion work in perfect sonic unison.
