A driving, driving beat leads you into a good vibes & clearly housy influenced vocal, roaring synths give way to percussion that penetrates deep into your brain cells. It all leads to a sonic ecstasy that stimulates your senses.

"Everything is a Lie" seduces you from the first bar. A dynamic track that combines the sensual female voice as if it were a siren's song with the imposing cry of protest that gives the track its title. The euphoric melody carries you along for the whole track.

'Israeli producer HEVI LEVI returns with another eclectic and pulsating melodic-techno track in ‘Back Room’, set for release on the 6th of October via his own record label Joy Group.

However, HEVI LEVI is no stranger to the scene. The prolific artist has performed in underground clubs and at some of the biggest music festivals around the world, namely Tomorrowland, Laundry Day, Escape, Sensation, Space, Futurami, IT, Ministry Of Sound, ADE, Pacha and many more.  

He’s also received international support from publications such as Mixmag Brasil, Mixmag Caribbean, Techno Mood, Electronic Groove, Only Techno, Vicious Magazine, House Music With Love, T.H.E Music Essentials, We Rave You, and EDM Nations.In addition to this, his music has aired on BBC Radio 6's Nemone sitting in for Mary Anne Hobbs, KCRW's Metropolis with Jason Bentlet, Ibiza Sonica Radio and Miami Encode Radio, to name but a few. Inspired by greats such as Faithless, Depeche Mode, and Rüfüs Du Sol, his musical style is deeply reminiscent of artists like Kevin de Vries, ARTBAT, and Saint Vie

This contemporary influence is heard and felt on ‘Back Room’. It’s deeply hypnotic and ethereal, with a trademark plucking bass that bounces with the groove, while rolling, pitching congos anchor the rhythm and maintain continuity. A brooding vocal sample adds a certain catchiness and mainstream appeal, as aggressive acid-sounding stabs ring out vehemently in turn. In the breakdown, we’re treated to a deeply anthemic set of house chords that build towards our final electronic crescendo. And the break does not disappoint, as HEVI LEVI delivers with pulsating four-to-the-floor flavor and a new synth lead that calls out to space, drawing the listener in for an epiphanic moment where music and soul merge. With ‘Back Room’, HEVI LEVI succeeds in once again using his musicality and production prowess to tell a story. A feat that is often neglected by other techno artists.

This spring saw seasoned XYZ contributor Koelle team up with multi-instrumentalist Reza Safinia on Reverie, a two-sided offering which saw the union of electronic tones and orchestral influences into a dance floor affair. As the fall arrives to Montréal, we're pleased to present our biggest remix compilation to date. 6 artists from the broad melodic house & techno spectrum will offer their versions of the tracks over the weeks to come. The second volume of the Reverie remixes showcases talent all the way from Germany to Brazil, with the mandatory stopover through the label's home city of Montréal.

To round up the pack, we're pleased to welcome two of the most exciting Brazilian producers of the moment. Through waves crashing and aquatic textures, BLANCAh & Mariz offer their remix of ‘Reverie', surely inspired by their close ties to the legendary Warung Beach Club. The dialogue between arp and lead synth amplifies Reza Safinia's soothing voice as the tight drums carry us through the storm.

Release Info: 
The album’s title, "Trip to Sanity’" – a reference to the classic German children’s story of the little dragon 'Tabaluga' – reflects Oliver's own path as a DJ within the world of club culture. But it also represents the appeal to an unbroken childlike curiosity as a producer, driven by the utopias of this parallel society. Naturally, Koletzki found his creative spark while performing on the stages of renowned festivals like Burning Man, Coachella, Garbicz, and Fusion, as well as in moments of peace and relaxation on meditative hikes and long beach walks in his second home of Cape Town.
 
In South Africa, Oliver wrote most of "Trip to Sanity" in the winter, then flashed out and finalised the tracks in his studio at Kreuzberg's Holzmarkt. Within the last 18 months a collection of complex and varied songs formed, which, typical for Oliver's collaborative approach, were often created in cooperation with musicians like techno-pop legend Fritz Kalkbrenner, Burning Man chance encounter Talmirage, scene friends Andhim, Hidden Empire, Oliver Klostermann and Niko Schwind, or the exceptional voices Natascha Polké, Malou, LOLY and Marlena Dae. The result is a rollercoaster ride through a diverse spectrum of dance music, effortlessly held together by Koletzki's unmistakable sound signature and his intrinsic sense for the exact tension between hedonistic dancefloor focus and poppy earworm impact. At the centre of it all shines a joie de vivre that runs like a thread through "Trip to Sanity": Playful, cheeky, imaginative, euphoric, a rainbow of genres and influences flow into each other, balanced by moments of reflection, melancholy or harshness.
