Ask any producer the influence behind their track and, nine times out of ten, the answer will be, ‘the dancefloor’. So, although already hell bent on signing it based on the calibre of the music alone, imagine the surprise at Renaissance HQ when Grigoré said his latest EP, Deepest Thoughts, “Is a tribute to my childhood.” 

“It was really important that the 4 tracks remained together,” he continues, “it’s about the moments and feelings of growing-up, deepest thoughts in the dark of freezing nights, which I now look back on with nostalgia. I can’t express how delighted I was when Renaissance said they wanted to keep them all together as an entire EP.” 

Indeed, Renaissance were keen to keep the diverse scope of Deepest Thoughts whole; besides its musical story, it underlines Grigoré’s fast-rising status, which has seen him pick-up support from the likes of Solomun (even signing to Diynamic no less), Tale Of Us, Joris Voorn, Pete Tong, H.O.S.H., Lehar (plus more) and clearly demonstrates his prodigious talent. Like many of the best producers working today, the EP warps genres, taking in melody, techno, indie, 4/4 and breaks with effortless cool.

'Rising live-act Holly North is back with more impressive sounds this time on Poesie Musik. 

North has a unique and genre bending sound that draws on his classical background as a cellist to create immersive melodies and nostalgia tinged productions that have gotten the attention of tastemaker labels including Oliver Koletzki's Stil vor Talent, Ben Böhmer's Ton Töpferei and 3000Grad among others.

Rien opens up here with broad bass and drums intertwining with each other as the pained chords and a soulful vocal bring the extra rich emotions. Hiatus has lush melodies over supple and soft beats. It's an atmospheric track in which to get lost with wavy grooves and plenty of rich sound designs that bring a cosmic air. The bass is warm and deep and the whole vibe is heady. An extended version of Hiatus closes down in spine tingling fashion.

As another year slowly passes by we would like to take a moment to step back and thank all of you who have been supporting our beloved ‘Radikon’ over the course of the last years. 2022 has been kind to us and our artists, we worked together with emerging talents, longtime friends as well as former idols who now are part of our constantly growing ménage. We’re fully motivated and optimistic to expand this project of ours to new heights in ’23!

What else is there to say when we can show our gratitude in form of our upcoming annually Reto compilation. We curated the finest of the finest for your year’s end listening pleasures. Jonas Saalbach opens up this round with a trancy hymn featuring the ever glowing voice of SANDHAUS, followed by Arude’s spotless Yinning and Yanning between hard grooves versus carefully placed melody patterns. Munich’s Yubik delivers another melancholic masterpiece together with Mark Hoffen, escorted by the man Guzy himself who plays the Klaviatur of wide range noisy leads in a flawless dancefloor sharpshooter. Naeiiv states a confession of a ‘Blank Mind’ with a track loaded with big room arps and warm pad structure. 2022’s Reto conclusion is delivered by Tantum with a classic rave machine that will keep floors vibing long after midnight.

HOLLY NORTH, a Baltic coast native from a musical family, began his journey with the cello at age seven, later adding piano and electric bass. Growing up in a small city in eastern Germany, he developed a strong political and social awareness. After a period in New York, Holly delved into the electronic music scene, gaining recognition with releases like his 2021 single "Youth", which achieved over 1.5 million Spotify streams. Now with Christian Löffler’s Ki Records, Holly merges acoustic and electronic sounds, creating dynamic, nostalgic tracks. A versatile live performer, he incorporates multiple instruments, including his cello, and has toured extensively across Europe, including with Löffler in 2024.
