The government classifies Monaberry tracks as super fancy. Raver all over the world refer to them as "Fancy Songs." But most people just call Monaberry the world's best label. And of course, it's true that nobody makes releases like Monaberry. Part of the story is CIOZ, the finest. Part of it is the patented way we seal in the fresh bass and crunch. But mainly, this release are prized for just one thing, their perfectly delicious taste.

Die Regierung stuft Monaberry-Titel als besonders ausgefallen ein. Raver auf der ganzen Welt bezeichnen sie als "Fancy Songs". Aber die meisten Leute nennen Monaberry einfach das beste Label der Welt. Und natürlich stimmt es, dass niemand Veröffentlichungen wie Monaberry macht. Ein Teil der Geschichte ist CIOZ, vom Feinsten. Ein Teil davon ist die patentierte Art und Weise, wie wir den frischen Bass und Crunch einschließen. Aber vor allem werden diese Veröffentlichungen für eine Sache geschätzt: ihren perfekten, köstlichen Geschmack.

Established by label boss Elif in September 2023, Barcelona-based record label Marginalia has been making considerable waves on the international circuit over the past few months. Following a run of four hugely successful releases from some of the most talented up-and-coming producers in the industry since its launch, the flourishing imprint now looks to inaugurate the New Year in the same prolific fashion as it concluded the last, as it announces its first release of 2024. Warmly welcoming featuring Turkish artist, Jaffer, and Tel-Aviv based remixer, Accent, this is the ‘Near & Far’ EP.

Crowned Miller SoundClash World Champion back in 2016, DJ, producer and mentor, Jaffer, has since gone on to become founder of INNDROOM – a DJ and music production academy based out of Istanbul. Having dropped a number of well-received releases on ISOLATE and Harabe Black, the rising Turkish talent now lands on Marginalia for the first time with ‘Near & Far’ EP – a three-track package featuring two of his own original productions and an official remix from Israeli artist Accent.

Completing the package is Jaffer’s second and final original production, ‘Floora’. An imposing, mechanic juggernaut replete with frenetic synth work, undulating motifs and complex rhythmic patterns, Jaffers’s nuanced treatment of dissonance and abstract textures converge in perfect accord to conclude yet another extraordinary release on Marginalia.

Coming off the highly-touted ‘Clean the Turbines (The Remixes)' EP just before the holidays, When We Dip XYZ is proud to kickstart a new era for the label with the ‘Superhero' EP by INVŌKER, including a remix from Motip White.

Hailing from La Réunion and now based in Paris, INVŌKER has crafted a sound of his own in recent years, marrying innovative concepts, memorable synth work and a remarkable sonic research in drums and textures. Siamese, Innervisions and TAU are home to a few of his recent outings.

Motip White, a mainstay of the imprint, is establishing himself as the latest in a long line of Cologne legends. His songwriting prowess, complemented by top-notch sound design, has been featured on Innervisions, Frau Blau, Anims and When We Dip XYZ.

The title-track, ‘Superhero' is an immediate attention-grabber with its tight groove, upbeat ad-libs and glitchy risers. As the tune develops, the celestial pad and main riff unfold into an ecstatic crescendo.

The constantly evolving arpeggio of ‘Requiem for a Detox' serves as an invitation to an indelible trip. Soothing vocal touches serve as backdrop, building in intensity and sighing in relief as the different chapters of the track succeed one another.

Sprinkling his own vocals to the mix, Motip White comes in with hard bass stabs, driving hi-hats and a haunting chord progression. The new full-blown synths added by White play a game of hide and seek with the arp from the original, a symmetry between climaxes and linking thread.
