Monumental times have arrived for Steyoyoke Recordings, as they venture into unchartered waters. This new project accumulates for years of hard work and marks the release of their very first album titled ‘Equilibrium’. The Steyoyoke artists are united within a unique concept, that utilises the four classical elements of fire, air, water and earth, bringing you a creative expression that reflects a state of balance between art, music and the natural elements. Animal Picnic & Aaryon have already made their mark in terms of stamping their strengths as a collaboration team, offering up a unique combination of flare and talent. It’s no surprise to see them come together again to bring you Steyoyoke Black’s next release. Titled Vortex, this EP delivers a total of four original tracks, each of them possessing their own imprint and presence that engages the listener with every twist and turn.

First up is ‘Vortex’, which jumps straight to the point of divulging the tracks overall foreboding vibe. The bass line is unyielding throughout the entire track and with such brazen synth riffs, Vortex seems to pursue and command your attention. Be prepared for an onslaught of power and raw vigor.

‘Particles of God’ is the second track on the EP and with its cave like echoes, underwater inflections and metallic drums, it depicts an almost aquatic industrial soundscape. The track has a fierce pulsing energy to it and a monster break down that mimics this intensity perfectly.

The third track ‘Orion’ pursues a rolling more melodic sound then any of the other tracks on the EP. Playful piano riffs are masterly crafted around flurries of snappy percussion and textured grooves. ‘Orion’ allows you to bask in its elevating melodies and distinguished charm.

‘Rhapsody’ is the fourth and last track to feature on ‘Vortex’. Arousing a sense of mystery with its cool calm attitude, this track radiates an unflinching seductive flow. Hypnotic bass and stabbing synths prod and poke, all whilst endeavouring to lead you deeper into darker territories.

Kas:st release the anthemic ‘Hold Me To The Light’ on Afterlife with a Tale Of Us remix.

The French duo Kas:st are behind the highly-anticipated vocal track that has been creating special moments in recent sets. The original is arranged to journey through downtempo, piano and vocoder sections as well as a powerful peak. Tale Of Us’ remix extends its climax into a true dancefloor epic. The vocal breakdown, subtle progressions and monumental sound design is the perfect complement to Kas:st’s own masterpiece.
On the record’s B-side, ‘The Hymn Of Fallen Dreams’ switches the title-track’s lyrics for a more understated, ghostly lead line whilst retaining its extended form. Closing track ‘Be Yourself’ is the most direct of the four with a groove and deep pulse primed for the peak-hours.

'Jay Pei returns to Qilla with his Ocean of Stars EP,whichincludestwocinematicmelodictechno originals, a remix by label head Kohra and a very special reprise version with Poland's talented  classical violinist Karolina Beimcik.  
 
Jay Pei has been playing these tracks for a while and has already received some great responses, while his last EP on this label also went viral on various techno channels. He says “​The idea was to work on a follow-up to my earlier release on Qilla Records and to make a track in a similar soundscape but influenced by the music of the Middle East. It took a while to come up with the melody but in the end I think I had exactly what I wanted emotionally. It’s evocative and captivating! I had no intention of making a reprise version of it but again most amazing things happen when you least expect it." 
 
'Ocean of Stars' washes over you with lush chords and epic synths, it’s dramatic and heart swelling during the breakdown and when the groove kicks again it carries you away to the cosmos. 'Antimatter' is darker, with a taut bass line and plenty of edginess in the melodic techno moods that unfold. Filled with subtle details and a fantastic sense of sound design, it is more elegant work from Pei. First to remix 'Ocean of Stars' is label head Kohra who reimagines it as a delicate and twinkling techno roller, with broad synths and rubbery bass down low. The lead is enchanting indeed and helps make this another standout remix.'
