When We Dip's Tales of Romance imprint is proud to present its first EP of the year, ‘Meet my Tempo' by Zoi. The outing is centred around groove and harmonic touch. Manu, Gullen and Madmotormiquel each give their take of the A-side.

Zoi, who has released with Kindisch, Traum and Dirtybird, originally hail from Pakistan and is an integral part of Toronto's scene as a programmer of club Subdivision.

The A-side, ‘Meet my Tempo' is a vibey affair marked by old-school house drums, an uplifting pad and diverse ear candies.

Inner Solstice showcases the same atmospheric feel, as the ever-evolving percussions and hats link the raw sub-bass, joyful pad and sparse lead melody.

Montréal's Manu delivers a throbbing remix which draws inspiration from his regular appearances in the city's institutions such as Stéréobar and Le Salon Daomé. The glitchy break gives a breather before leaving the colourful sub lead the ‘I just want to groove' ad-lib.

Gullen's remix of Meet my Tempo revolves around an inspiring rolling bass progression, stabs and a sharp clap. A tasteful offering from the Barcelona producer fresh off his second EP with Mobilee.

Madmotormiquel's remix rounds up the pack. Bouncy percussions, short stabs and drum rolls hit against the bassline and punchy kick.

Following INVŌKER’s ‘Superhero’, When We Dip XYZ is proud to present ‘The Chaos Inside’ from Imeïa, who has already been spotlighted on imprints such as Isolate, Frau Blau and Sum Over Histories. On this EP, the enigmatic producer blends impactful grooves, uncharacteristic delays, poignant textures and creative use of silence.

Things start off with ‘Le Pire Pour La Fin’, a deep cut which is led by a slow, drawn-out melody which recedes in favour of the bassline and noise-heavy plucks.
 
The eponymous ‘The Chaos Inside’ brings the energy levels a few notches up. The layered pad and choir initiate a progression of epic proportions over the simple, driving groove. The impacts, risers and glitches all accentuate this feeling of immensity. 

On ‘Elegancia’, the doubled kicks and resounding vocals set the scene for the larger than life lead synth. A subtle acid touch on the bass completes the tune. 

The last track, ‘Blue Romance’ displays the clearest vocals we’ve seen from Imeïa so far. The line ‘I don’t wanna be a fool, I just wanna be a tool’ is repeated throughout the intro and outro. A screaming guitar announces the highlight of the tune, with its uplifting bass pattern and toy-like percussions. An alternate dub mix is also available.

Marking their thirtieth release, Neverdogs’ respected underground imprint Bamboleo Records welcomes Australian-born, Barcelona-based DJ/Producer Lolah with her debut EP on the label. Released on 22nd March and featuring two original cuts from Lolah, her ‘States Of Euphoria’ EP also comes with standout remixes from renowned German talent Sascha Dive and in-demand Milanese artist Cristina Lazic.

The EP kicks off with the title cut, ‘States Of Euphoria,’ bringing bumpy drum grooves and glitchy percussive swing fused with a momentous bassline melody, modular sequencing, atmospheric string-led breaks and sleek musicality throughout. Sascha Dive follows this up with his interpretation, delivering his ‘Out Of Body Experience’ remix in the form of an immersive and pleasantly prolonged and sonically dreamy minimal roller.
