There can be no denying Sergio Muñoz, aka Fur Coat. Now a native of Barcelona, his Venezuelan roots are a reminder of South America’s ever-increasing contribution to the world of electronic music. The fact he has, and continues, to be at the forefront of this Latin surge is testament to his skill and creativity.

It’s also the reason why his relationship with Renaissance continues to endure. With three singles and an album to their collective name, they now join forces once again to present the diverse Dystopia EP.

Dystopia itself is the definition of everything a title track should stand for; a heady mix of Fur Coat’s consistent ability to marry a memorable riff with effortless, production cool. “My intention was a catchy hook that played along with the sub bass,” he confirms, “evoking the classic Renaissance era, but with a modern, yet timeless vibe.” 

To ensure every drop of creative juice was wrung from the track, Sergio and Renaissance invited Musumeci and Dodi Palese to remix it in their unique, indie style. “We were instantly drawn to ‘Dystopia’s’ infectious riff and specifically wanted to celebrate that element,” they explain. 

The EP is completed by Solitary Road, which shifts a stylistic gear into the world of electronica. “It’s been great to see the return of atmospheric breaks in recent years and I really wanted to produce something that would be a worthy entry into the genre,” Sergio humbly explains, “so my focus was once again on the all-important melodies with detuned chords and catchy riffs.”

'Massimo Logli steps up to his own Superba Records label with a fantastic new nine track album, Through My Barricades. It is a deep exploration of the Italian's well formed house and techno sound, and the title represents a wonderful period of his life in the Eighties where he felt his most passion with human relations and more.

Logli has been at the sharp end of the scene for decades. He has had key DJ residencies, releases on vital labels like Blackboard and Fragrant Music, and topped digital charts many times over with his unique fusion of melodic deep house and techno. This new album is his finest musical statement yet.

Love In The Sky opens up with a scintillating groover that is awash with lush melody and uplifting chords. As I Am is a deep and heady groove, with chunky drums and more astral synth work, then Clouds continues to build the vibe with sleek and futuristic house sounding well designed progressive melodies, that send shivers down your spine. Let Me Get You has a darker vibe, with stripped back drums and crunchy hits making for heads down back room dancing.

The album rolls on with Our Destiny, which has keys ranging down the face of the polished metal drum sounds and a feeling of real optimism. Albali is a dramatic track with pixelated leads extending to the heavens, and Sirio then gets you in a trance with its euphoric chords and heavy drums. Shake is a soothing sound, with gorgeous keys and sci-fi ambience cleansing your brain, before closer Chasing Star ends on a high with big, bright chord stabs that will get your hands in the air.

Black Rose's Twenty-fourth EP comes from italian based duo Devoteex. In "Age Of Angels" we find an amazing synth/lead that as the title suggest is very angelic and melodic the groove is smooth but very catchy. In "Hurricane" the vibe is stronger and faster till the drop you'll feel like inside an hurricane of melodies. "Hydra" has the most majestic melodies and the arps inside this track are dreamy and very melodic. "Hypnotic Dream" keep a solid groove till you arrive at the drop where you'll find calm and peace like in a dream, and get released from the sweet and hypnotic melodies.

With their subfrequency engines run hot, Green Lake Project recently made a stop at a certain pub at the outermost corner of the galaxy. Coincidentally, they met a time-travelling singer / groovewriter named Andy’s Echo who was passing through from some place in the future. The rest of that night became a spectacle of truly cosmic dimensions... Here’s a rare recording of that event, making it accessible through terrestrial ears: The Breach is heaving Space Techno with the emotive soul of a voice dancing on its liquid surface. This memorable dancefloor event is complemented by a masterfully crafted remix from DJ and producer veteran D-Nox. Also, GLP shared with us a hyperreal simulation named Storm At The Moon. A melody spreads through the human mind like some kind of technicoloured star dust, and the human body control surrenders ever so imperceptibly to the hypnotic functionality of the tight rhythm.

Ergänzt wird dieses denkwürdige Dancefloor-Ereignis von einem meisterlich geschliffenen und polierten Remix aus der Hand von DJ- und Produzenten-Veteran D-Nox. Außerdem teilen GLP die lebensechte Simulation von Storm At The Moon mit uns. Eine Melodie breitet sich im menschlichen Denkapparat aus wie das Programmiercode-Fragment einer künstlichen Intelligenz, und die Körperkontrolle gibt sich unbemerkt dem auf hypnotische Funktionalität optimierten Rhythmus hin.

ATL064 sees the long overdue Atlant return of Thodoris Triantafillou after his 2019 genre busting 'Scorn' saw plays from a range of modern day icons from Solomun to Hernan Cattaneo, and Black Coffee to Diplo. More recently his track 'Non-Stop' saw plays from Tale of Us, Joris Voorn, Marc Romboy and John Digweed.

Once again, Thodoris demonstrates why he's at the forefront of a thriving Greek electronic music scene, producing yet another deep expansive EP at his Glory Hill Studio located under the Acropolis in Athens.

Mesmerising lead track 'Art Core' is a futuristic dance-floor cut with its addictive theme underpinned by throbbing bass, cinematic keys and Blade Runner style floating arp lines. The spacey groove and memorable hook make this perfect for summer sets where DJs want to create unique moments that live long in the memory.

Next Thodoris increases the energy in the room through 'Feel The Power'. Driving bouncy sub-bass, rolling rhythms and jagged keyboard stabs all come together to create a dark twisted ride. 'Feel The Power' showcases Thodoris's experience running club nights and building his knowledge of how to get the crowd moving and reacting.

Closing out the EP is 'Too Expensive' - an uplifting swaying melodic journey with intricate beats, crisp hats and a diverse range of sonic alchemy. 'Too Expensive' never loses sight of the need to impact the floor, while also letting the producer stretch out creatively.

Yet again Thodoris has really delivered some thing special for Atlant.
