'Argentinian producer Ric Niels makes his debut on Hicky & Kalo's label Plaisirs Sonores Records with his beautiful track 'Walking In The Woods'. The song is a mix of ethereal synths, groovy bassline and tasty drums. The glorious vocals of Hydrah add a sumptuous aura to the music.

First on remix duty, we found Dmitry Molosh. The Belarusian DJ and producer is famous for his inimitable progressive sound and excellent taste in music. Dmitry represents his country far beyond its borders as one of the most forward-thinking electronic music artists in the world. Here, he created a huge progressive piece filled with trancy melodies and one of the most epic drop we heard in a long time.

Also rising out of Argentina's electronic underground are the elusive duo Analog Jungs. Made up of Claudio Cornejo and Gustavo Ruarte, Analog Jungs was born out of a love for rhythm, groove and melody. The duo is back on the label after their successful release of 'Landscape' with Oliver & Tom last year.

To close out the package, there's an instrumental version of 'Walking In The Woods' for the DJs uneasy with vocals.

Premiere: Dabeat - Cauac [Proton Music]

About a year on since their last incursion on the label, acclaimed German duo Township Rebellion resurface on Stil vor Talent with a fresh new three-tracker, right on cue for the busy festival season ahead. Titled "Doppler" after the EP's eponymous lead-track, this new effort also comprises two previously released cuts remastered to further compelling effect, bound to make quite the impact on the dance floor with their all new, fully revitalized sound design. Music to sync your brainwaves and jack your body to, unremittingly. 

As per each occurrence, Township Rebellion show themselves eager to take over the clubs' sound systems with optimum style and firepower, and "Doppler" sure attests to their inimitably floor-efficient approach. The lead single "Doppler" is no stranger to Township Rebellion's signature blends, flush with tribal-infused motifs, peak time cliff-hangers and thunderous outbursts all set against a progressive epic of soaring synths and skull-crushing kick drums. Dwelling the interzone between pure big-room banger territories and unpredictable drifts into wider, open-ended electronic realms, their music eschews classification, forever that nomad sound roaming the confines of DJ functionality and frame-breaking otherworldliness. 

Both presented in sharper-than-ever remastered versions, "Baud" and "About A Tribe" makes for perfect contrapuntal companions to the electrifying, broad scale epic that is "Doppler". An ominous call rallying all souls eager to sail off onto higher raving spheres, "Baud" leaves no stone unturned in its machiavellian plan to merge all dancers in one throbbing mass of energy. Meanwhile, "About A Tribe" showcases the pair's intuitive attraction towards mystique-imbued folk music and polyphonic rhythms, infusing that soulful melodic search into a blazing maelstrom of hi-tech electronic engineering, piano-house addiction and wistful, post-trancey hypnosis that will have you climbing the stairs of euphoria on your hands thru and thru.

The latest release from Higher States finds label boss Roger Martinez back in the spotlight with a new EP. With a career now spanning well over a decade, the Dutch artist’s transcendent style has long been a favourite of the world’s top DJs. Cid Inc, Eelke Kleijn, John Digweed, Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Sasha have all been steadfast supporters over the years and remain as progressive music continues to evolve. The genre’s most highly regarded imprints have also served as landing spots for Roger’s hypnotizing sounds, with Lost & Found, Replug and Sudbeat sitting prominently on his resume. More recent outings via Days Like Nights and meanwhile have also delighted fans and tastemakers, ultimately leading Roger back to his comfortable home of Higher States with ‘Euphoria / Love Sphere’.

Beginning with ‘Euphoria’ Roger flexes his free thinking muscles and crafts a fantastical journey across a vivid electronic cosmos. Shot in high-definition and full of detail and idiosyncrasies, Roger reaffirms his instinctive ability to tip a dancefloor over the edge, planting multiple explosions of serotonin through spectral synths, haunting chord stabs and wispy effects, before confidently melting down into a stylish interlude. The inevitable zenith of this joyous excursion mounts with shape-shifting layers and charming melodies converging, achieving a rich, enticing timbre over a bed of pulsating beats and fascinating percussion.

The companion piece ‘Love Sphere’ impresses further with its buoyant energy and vivacious storyboard. Warm, full and incredibly fluid, it’s capsizing groove and rhythmic pulses are transcendent, building momentum as hazy melodies delight with their fuzzy charm. Expediting the journey are layers of mesmerizing percussion and trailing effects, uniting for a hypnotizing drawl leading into a cosmic break, which ultimately preludes a groove-centric finish. The latest release from Deepwibe Underground welcomes Paul Hamilton and CaThY K to the label for their debut EP. The former, born in Malta and now based in Dubai, is one of the underground’s most highly regarded progressive house artists. Paul has found a home on Armada, Balkan Connection, Droid9, Freegrant Music and Perspectives Digital, while his equally impressive DJ skills have seen him perform at Ministry Of Sound (Dubai) and Godskitchen (Dubai). Also hailing from Malta is CaThY K who has been a fixture of the country’s nightlife for the better part of two decades. Her unique track selection and exquisite programming skills have led her to perform in some of Malta’s trendiest venues alongside top international and Maltese talent. Also well established as producer, CaThY has been perfecting her craft for over six years and lays claim to an impressive resume, with releases via Another Life Music, Droid9, SLC-6 Music and Soundteller Records. Having delivered a track for Deepwibe’s Digital imprint earlier this year, Paul and Cathy now debut on the label’s primary platform with ‘Debauchery’.

Flexing their collaborative powers, the EP begins with the groovy sounds of the title selection. Here Paul and Cathy craft a deep, chunky foundation with a nostalgic tinge, while layers of flickering percussion and ominous atmospheres slowly surround the framework. This is mood setting material at it’s best and while the scope of the journey continues to grow it isn’t until the main break where we get multiple explosions of serotonin. Metallic riffs dominate the centrepiece, creating an electric air, all while maintaining the track’s cool low slung mood.

Selection two ‘Different Intentions’ continues on that same level with deep chugging grooves and exotic drums serving as the backbone for bleepy loops and waves of haunting atmospherics. A well crafted break sits at the core of the journey with nothing big or overblown to ruin the mood, but rather a smooth hazy build into powerful beats and soundscape science.

Rounding out the release is ‘Muusiiqaa’ which is mysterious and mystical from the outset. A heavier emphasis on effects makes for a tripper vibe compared to it’s predecessors, but the same groove-centric appeal ultimately carries the journey towards fluttery second act melodies, before a vortex of percussion and noise spark a commanding drop. Thrilling stuff from Paul and Cathy who make an impressive Deepwibe Underground debut with three dominate progressive creations. Don’t miss it.
