A true driving force of the Stil vor Talent fold since the landing of his debut EP "Nandoo" in 2018, Sam Shure has cemented his position as one of today's finest names when it comes to shape shifting , polyamorous soundscapes. Using his background in traditional music to take club music into unheard directions, Sam keeps carving out a lane of his own, and his newest four-track delivery for Stil vor Talent - "Malfunction" - proves a new tour de force in his quest for time and space-transcending material.

Merging middle-eastern melodic tropes with the most cutting-edge arsenal of circuit-driven chatter, the title-track pulls out an infectious metronomic swagger adorned with EBM-friendly cascades of shimmering bleeps and raging drums that keep on swelling as bars fly by. Doped on fly, chiselled breaks and a fractalised sound design rife with fractured vocal samples, "Permutation" flings us in a furnace of flash-flowing, mangled synth ellipses and bone-bruising bass moves that'll have you hard-pressed to find your way back to the surface. 

Not one to crank it down one inch for real, "Attenuator" does the very opposite of its name, except perhaps for its more understated, deep-end-friendly approach. Going the dubbier way, this one finds Shure boasting the width of his skills and ever-sharp knack for cutting riveting slabs of pared-down psychedelia. Topping it off, "Sopra il Mondo (featuring Francesca Siano)" is a straightforward roller tinged with Shure's broad palette of jazzy inflections, Latin neo-classicism and oriental harmonics. A correspondingly ambitious and inspired closer to a new master stroke from an artist in full possession of his art.

'Grey Bar Hotel is a Berlin-based melodic house label curated by Michael Ritter and Felix E. Alongside showcases in and outside of Germany, the imprint focuses on fostering local and international artists, working with Kamilo Sanclemente, Indigo Man, Supacooks, and many more since the label’s inception in 2018. A regular performer around Berlin, Michael Ritter has previously appeared on Stellar Black, YOMO Records and Polyptych. 

Returning to his own Grey Bar Hotel for his latest release, the DJ/producer delivers four deep and moving tracks across the ‘Yawa Raf’ EP. Leading the release, the title track ‘Yawa Raf’ builds with rolling percussion amongst sparkling, discordant motifs, filtered vocals, and a rolling low-end groove. ‘Barfuss’ continues with deep kicks, a gentle bassline, and hypnotic synth lines building up to a delicate piano sequence. Rapid-fire shakers and hi-hats meet club-friendly analogue leads on ‘Cassé’, before closing track ‘Elephant’ rounds out the release with syncopated melodic elements and clever arrangements amongst gorgeous chords. It’s an intense emotional deepness that makes Together so unique. The title track of the forthcoming Mollono.Bass album brings together pretty much everything this producers is known and loved for: Playful storytelling between melodic catchiness and musical sophistication, a high recognition factor in the earthy groove and a high level of novelty in the modern vibes, everything multiplied by the creative abundance of his friendships, in this case Andy’s Echo and Rodden von Ast. Namidu adds yet another typical aspect of Mollono.Bass, namely maximum variety. If Together is the half-naked, sunlit side of this EP, then this functional big room banger is its nocturnal counterpart. The percussive original with its cosmic reverbs and ritual chants is complemented by a Club Version that whips the snare drum even a bit tighter, sending mind-bending ripples across the dancefloor.
