An established artist with a sizeable reputation, Proton Music welcomes Cream to the Proton Music roster with his first solo release on the label, "Rubikon". A regular on the likes of Electronic Tree, Superordinate Music and Soundteller Records, the Polish artist has created a distinctive and powerful sound with over 200 production credits to his name. Particles highlights include 2015's "Neverland" EP with Deep Fog, as the duo hit the heights on Proton Music with a trio of remixes for GMJ & Matter, Trilucid and Andrea Cassino & Greenage, between 2018 and 2020. Now, establishing himself as a solo artist, "Rubikon" is an elegantly crafted progressive house gem that drifts enticingly along with dramatic bassline and atmospheric synth lines. Anchored by a heavy beat and intricate percussive groove, a filtered arpeggio comes to the fore in emotive fashion, building to a zenith at the mid-point. The rasping bassline makes its presence felt in the third movement as the track glistens to a conclusion with sparkling brio and effervescent production work.

A name requiring no introduction to the Proton Music cognoscenti, Christian Wedekind has been at the forefront of dance music for over 15 years with his D-Nox alter-ego. A regular across a host of blue-chip imprints during that time, work for the likes of Balance Music, Systematic Recordings, Tronic and his own Sprout Music, have shone a light on over 500 production credits. Remixes for Juan Deminicis in 2019 and Anton MAKe in April 2021 have seen the German icon make a name for himself on Proton Music in recent times as D-Nox now returns with a stellar reworking of "Rubikon". Taking the core themes of Cream's original, a bouncing bassline and ticking percussive groove pave the way for the central motif to filter its way gently into sonic range amidst a beautifully textured pad and white-noise effects. Adding a swathe of additional production material, the second half explodes into a glorious collage of melody and dancefloor rhythm.

A comparative newcomer to the underground scene, Lisandro has quickly made a name for himself with his distinctive blend of organic, deep and progressive house. Owner of the Flug Lab imprint whose reputation continues to rapidly grow, the Buenos Aries based artist has been a regular on such esteemed imprints as When We Dip XYZ, Hoomidaas and Nick Warren's The Soundgarden since a 2018 debut on his own label. A pair of remixes for Proton Music in 2020 and 2021 for Erdi Irmak and Magitman showcased the Argentinean's talent as he now returns for a third outing. Creating a delicate percussive groove, a glorious array of melodic elements shifts enticingly across the near 8-mine remix in perfect counterpoint harmony. Making immaculate use of Cream's original components, the Lisandro remix of "Rubikon" includes a raft of new production material that makes its presence felt at the breakdown before extending into the third movement with ease to create a supremely crafted reworking, full of technique and skill.

Through captivating solo work, Cream crosses the "Rubikon", ably supported by D-Nox and Lisandro.

No doubt, this EP is probably the most important release of the year on Univack.

The well known colombian artist Kamilo Sanclemente @kamilosanclemente returns to Univack with an ambitious EP with 3 originals mixes and 2 remixes by two of his friends: the brillant netherlander artist Alex O'Rion @alexorion , and the spanish label boss Integral Bread @integralbread

Each of the three originals by Kamilo Sanclemente offers an unique experience. With 'Evergreen', we enjoy the deepest, warmest and most organic side of Kamilo, a track that captivates from the beginning. With 'Perspective', we enjoy a devastating track, with an unbeatable groove, and nuances and arrangements that Kamilo picks up from genres like Soul, Funky and Jazz. On 'Elements' Kamilo experiments with mixing pure Progressive House elements with an operatic vocal track that gives it a unique and futuristic character. 

Alex O'Rion displays all his mastery to achieve a remix of 'Evergreen' being faithful to the original but  offering a different atmosphere at the same time, and combining elements of the original track with new contributions that fit perfectly. 

Integral Bread closes this EP with a very personal version of 'Perstective'. Also faithful to the original in terms of structure and elements, but with new tracks that give it a deeper and more ethereal character. An ideal finishing touch for an epic release.

'Above the Balearic Sea, Madrid and Genoa are joined by a central musical thread where Nosssia and My Flower combine under “Claro de Luna”. Familiar melodic themes rise across the cityscapes in the velvety night sky, supported by a cast of rolling rhythmic patterns and ticking percussion. A new musical vision emerges through the clouds as South America and Sri Lanka converge over the African continent.

Filtered synth lines materialise over clave percussive pattern as melodic themes echo in newly orchestrated shapes from Juan Sapia & Hasith. Entering 2021's fourth quarter in style, Roger Martinez's Higher States welcomes Roberto Caceres & Jose Tabarez to the label for their debut single. Based in Budapest, Hungarian artist Roberto Caceres was a DJ first, playing at events all across his country and abroad, performing in Austria, Germany, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia and the Ukraine. Although still early on in his evolution as a producer, Roberto's progressive sounds have already found a home on Consapevole Recordings and Eternal Beats. Also hailing from Hungary but now based in the UK, Jose Tabarez has been a staple of the progressive house scene for the better part of a decade. The Birmingham resident has racked up nearly two hundred discography credits, highlighted by releases on 3rd Avenue, Balkan Connection, Clubsonica Records, Soundteller and Stellar Fountain. Now collaborating for the first time, Roberto and Jose present their much-anticipated Higher States debut 'SyMaLiMi', alongside a remix from RIGOONI.

Although 'SyMaLiMi' marks their first joint production it's clear the creative synergy between Roberto and Jose is strong. The Hungarian duo marry an amalgamation of dreamy soundscapes and buoyant rhythms over a rich, well contoured groove and flurries of exotic percussion. As the main break takes shape a more distinct and supremely emotive theme emerges, as colourful fragments and childlike vocal elements converge for an impassioned blend of momentous audio. A perfect prelude to a groove-centric drop and reflective, key changing finale that's destined to leave long lasting memories on the dance floor.

Returning to the label and providing the lone interpretation of 'SyMaLiMi' is RIGOONI. Hailing from São Paulo, Vinícius Souza aka RIGOONI has been rising out of Brazil's electronic music underground. An appearance on Nick Warren's Balance compilation in 2019 set the course for what has been a two-year creative swell. UK behemoth Anjunadeep, Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, Proton's Particles and meanwhile have all served as landing spots for the talented Brazilian. Having made his Higher States debut in October of 2020 with his 'When Midnight Comes' single, RIGOONI now returns to the label with a gorgeous rendition of 'SyMaLiMi'. Beginning with warm beats and effervescent percussion, it's the pulsating nature of the groove which becomes instantly compelling. Driving, chunky and full of great character, it anchors what is an emotive slice of progressive house. Emerging melodies and nostalgic chord changes marry soulful instrumentation and youthful fragments across the first act, before a break of glowing overlays and whimsical effects spearhead a classy drop and stirring finale. A touching interpretation from the Brazilian artist, which rounds out a memorable Higher States debut for Roberto Caceres & Jose Tabarez.

Clubsonica Records opens the fall season by welcoming Juan Sapia back to the label for a new EP. Hailing from the progressive house hotbed of Argentina, Juan Sapia has enjoyed a steady rise since first emerging in 2017. As a favourite of progressive music tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, the Buenos Aires resident has compiled an impressive resume, landing releases on top tier imprints such as Mango Alley, Or Two Strangers, Sudbeat Music, and The Soundgarden. Also calling Clubsonica home, Juan made his label debut in June of last year with 'Masana | Embrace', a well-received joint project with Sri Lankan artist Hasith. Now, returning to the label in solo capacity, Juan unveils his second Clubsonica project 'Holy Grail | Space Turtle', alongside remixes from Greg Ochman and Ethereal Mist.

Getting the release underway and sitting as one of Juan's biggest productions to date is 'Holy Grail'. Warm beats and a full, rolling groove set the foundation for a narrative of colourful arps, cosmic effects and heartfelt harmonics. Pushing a trance-inspired mood into the break; Juan marries emotive chord changes with symphonic synth swagger across the mood lifting interlude, building emotion with each successive pass as melodies open, before eventually giving way to a thumping drop and key changing finale. The companion piece 'Space Turtle' continues the trance-inspired lean of the release and lands with an equally impressive display of craftsmanship. Smooth and uplifting throughout, it's a collage of warm pulsating beats, retro-arps and balmy pads which captivate leading into the break. Charming synth phrases and delicate arps further the story as the centrepiece unfolds, bringing with them hopeful moods and transcendent vibes, before a tasteful drop puts your senses on high for a groovy conclusion.

Returning to the label with the lone interpretation of 'Holy Grail' is Greg Ochman. Hailing from Poland, Greg first emerged in 2021 with a release via Sebastian Leger's Lost Miracle. Comprised of three tracks, this organic offering would lead to future releases for Kiksuya Records, Plattenbank, Radiant and Warung Recordings. Clubsonica was also one of Greg's first landing spots, with April of 2021 marking his label debut with the thematic sounds of 'Mistlove'. Smooth and groovy across the first movement, Greg continues his stylized ways with youthful vocal elements, sleek percussive arrangements and whimsical melodies creating a colourful path into the main break. Sitting comfortably in an emotive yet thought provoking space, joyous melodies and percussive flurries rise out of calming atmospheres as the interlude evolves, eventually breaking off into a heartwarming drop and charming finale.

The release concludes with Ethereal Mist with the lone interpretation of 'Space Turtle'. Hailing from Colombia and perhaps best known for his Parallel Universe alias alongside Mauro Pierotti, Ethereal Mist has been a fixture of his country's electronic music scene for the better part of a decade. Clubsonica has been a familiar landing spot for his progressive minded productions, with a 2016 debut setting the course for three additional projects across the next two calendar years. From warm, rhythmic beginnings comes redolent themes and heartfelt sonics. Gentle flutters build and balmy atmospheres emerge, perfectly setting the stage for shimmering melodies and clattering percussion to forge a path into the break. Carrying the trance-inspired mood of the original, the Colombian creates moments of hope and elation as the centrepiece evolves, before smoothly segueing into a thumping finale which is sure to send people home with a smile. A stunning remix from Ethereal Mist, which rounds out a welcome return to Clubsonica for Juan Sapia, an artist who continues to impress and rise in the world of progressive house.

A debut on Sound Avenue foreshadowed what has been a four-year creative swell for the Melbourne resident. A string of well-received projects for Balance Music, Plattenbank, Proton Music and Sound Avenue have yielded play and support from Guy Mantzur, Eelke Kleijn and Nick Warren. Meanwhile, hailing from the progressive house hotbed of Argentina, Juan Sapia has enjoyed a similar rise to success since first emerging in 2017. As a favourite of progressive music tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, the Buenos Aires resident has compiled an impressive resume, landing releases via Mango Alley, Or Two Strangers, Sudbeat Music and The Soundgarden. Now, combining their extensive forces for the first time, Eric and Juan debut on EDGE with ‘Diamonds’, alongside a remix from Eran Aviner & Hermanez. 

EP opener and title selection ‘Diamonds’ finds that perfect balance between rhythm and musicality, as Eric and Juan let hopeful atmospheres descend over warm beats and layers of dusty drums. Thematically distinct moving forward, soulful strums and scenic vocal edits ring out in timeless suspension, elevating mood while providing a bridge into the main break. Sure to be a memorable dance floor moment, percussive slowly melts away across the centrepiece, as melodic clusters emerge and each sound becomes an event in a slowly expanding landscape, zooming out to reveal a world of scale in which depth and contrast coax perfectly with colour and emotion. As the progressive grooves and swaying rhythms of opener ‘Aura' unfold, it's clear that Juan's craft must be taken to heart. Renowned for his trance-inspired melodies, the Buenos Aires resident opts for a deeper approach here, working placid pads over dulcet grooves and dusty percussive arrangements. Building patiently across the first movement, its creamy tones and heartfelt harmonies marry beautifully during a transcendent break, before layers of wind-swept sonics cue a gorgeous drop and glowing finale. Beneath the calming waves of ‘Aura' lies a tastefully melodic production entitled ‘Forest Song'. Evoking a confident club energy from the start, Juan's colourful sonics, emotionally resonant hooks and nostalgic melodies blanket a tight yet groovy framework. With an infectious energy that could win over even the most discerning of fans, it's a journey that becomes unabashedly epic at its peak, as melodies unite in a whirlpool of textural bliss, making for a sure fire dance floor weapon.

Returning to the label for the lone interpretation of ‘Aura' is Paul Deep. With a career that spans the better part of a decade, the Argentinean artist has compiled an impressive resume along the way, landing releases via All Day I Dream, Tale & Tone, The Soundgarden and Sudbeat. World class DJs Lee Burridge, Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren have all been steadfast supporters of Paul's sound. With his year being highlighted by an EP for Dmitry Molosh's Proportion imprint, Paul now makes a welcome return to Clubsonica with a stellar rendition of ‘Aura'. Focusing on a slightly darker monochrome, the Buenos Aires resident goes deep and techy for what results in a heady nine-minute journey. Rebounding rhythms and deep chugging basslines set the course for snatches of flickering percussion and growling stabs. Looking to bring a greater emotional response, the main break shifts the narrative through heartfelt chord changes and trance-inducing melodies, before a wave of white noise perfectly sets up a stripped back drop and meditative finale. 

The release concludes with Leo Guerrero making his label debut with the lone interpretation of ‘Forest Song'. Hailing from Colombia, new  inspirations led Leo to progressive music where he restarted his production journey under his own name, while finding a home on Antrim's Strangers Beats and D-Nox's Sprout. Continuing on this explorative path, the Medellin resident now adds Clubsonica to his resume with a powerful take on ‘Forest Song'. Beginning with a buoyant kick and galloping groove, the Colombian artist channels the melodic energy of the original through panoramic synths and percolating arps, before a deconstructed take on the main musical theme emerges across the break, perfectly setting up a thrilling peak-time finale. A gorgeous interpretation from Leo, which rounds out a must have return to Clubsonica for Juan Sapia, an artist who continues to stand out in Argentina's progressive house landscape.
