'Controlled Violence presents the modular majestics of Nostitz and ioth. Both based in Berlin, each artist understands the intricacies of sound design, working together to contort and guide emotion through their complex arrangements, production techniques, and personal style. The track “Fold” unfolds a multitude of atmospheric soundscapes, progressing rapidly towards a mist of schizoid rhythmic elements, and further into a world of hypnotic brilliance. Next up is “Iterating,” a grit-filled bouncy work drawing influence from the entire electronic spectrum. With a head-pounding groove supported by vicious stab patterns, the track is a unique blend of 90s severity and modern composition.

Nostitz and ioth have created two original compositions devoted to those who find themselves dancing in a dirt-coated industrial space, with each track expanding on established themes of minimalism, distortion, groove, and hypnotism. Tymotica and Saphileaum have been invited to perform remix duties on the melding of minds that is “Higher Order Function.” Tymotica rejigs “Iterating” into an energetic breakbeat masterstroke, introducing a galloping minimal-style bassline that compliments an array of spattered drum effects, while pertaining to the same warmth of the original mix. To round off the release, Saphileaum presents his interpretation of “Fold,” a unique work that skews far from the original. With a glossy, gentle background hum of pads, and the layering of a dreamy vocal in combination with orderly bleeps and drums, this remix defines Saphileaum’s ability to take an original and turn it on its head.'

As the crisp bite of fall approaches, Allergy Season returns once again. For our 10th release we present the second EP from everyones favorite sculptor of deep hypnotic beats, Beta Librae. In "Subspecies", Beta Librae presents several studies in dub-wise dance floor doing. With five narcotic tracks of looping house, techno and dub, "Subspecies" is an essential tonic for tuned-in DJs from warm up to closing.

This Animistic Beliefs & Legowelt collaboration started out as a scene in Anna Bogomolova’& Dammes Kieft’s upcoming full length ‘Stroboscopes & Smokemachines’ documentary - a film in which they research the Dutch West Coast electronic music landscape. The scene however soon morphed into its own mini film - documenting the entire process on how this project was conceived & produced. Packed with Animistic Beliefs & Twilight Moose style electro, amateur space jazz ambient with a touch of G-funk and a very intense trip-infused hypnotic techno track!

Although previously known for his work in the world of jungle and drum & bass, recently Moscow based producer Marco Lazovic has proven himself to be a formidable talent in the world of electro and house through stand out releases on Lobster Theremin’s “White” series and GASP Records. Lazovic’s work is unified by an uncanny grasp of tone; skillfully jumping from genre to genre with a confidence fueled by his passionate and deep knowledge of the sonic touch points of dance music history.
 
Lazovic’s latest release Ocean Voyage continues the artists gleeful genre plundering with a six-track sea cruise into the aquatic world of electro out this month on cassette via Prague’s Beef Records. Bolting Bits is thrilled to premiere. the record’s A1 and title track “Ocean Voyage.” Eschewing the darker tones of the genre in favor of twinkling lightness, “Ocean Voyage” plays like a seductive electro descent to Bikini Bottom.
 
Making expert utilization of the distinctly jack sensibility of the traditional electro sound palate, the rhythmic pull of “Ocean Voyage” is undeniable. Off setting the clear Drexicyian influence, Lazovic’s tune replaces gurgling bubbles with shimmering 64 bit waves crashing with gentle grace.

INIT 1 presents its second release in Null Recs which has 3 powerful tracks full of dark, acid & dense elements with a contrasted mix. The EP is called ATER, which is the ancient Roman way of referring to the color black (for them it was like matte black). The songs have more to do with the concept around black, elegance, minimalism and it's also a tribute to the night, the party and the darkness.

According to INIT1 it's a concept around black, darkness, the night party and techno that in general is dark. That's why he included Malware II, a Malware is kind of a virus, something malicious that is usually also related to the darkness, also the Low end (that in the histogram of photography are located where the black are) are higher and more enveloping

Rose Bonica has navigated her way into the South African electronic music industry, claiming her space as a producer and performer in the early hours of the morning with raging tracks in dark techno basements. It cannot be easy to break into a boy’s club as a self taught musician, and Tears for the Tea Maker feels like a way to soothe the scars of Rose Bonica’s musical experience so far. 

So often it is the ones that we love who provide this balm in these anxious moments. We expose ourselves and share our truths with those who we trust. Tears for Tea Maker is an ode to the intimacy and love that grows from supporting one another in the very simple and often unglamorous ways, the methods that get no recognition. This is an insight into Rose’s private world, the gentle soothing and calming nature of being cared for when you are vulnerable.
