Paris-based DJ & producer AIROD aka Dario Brkic returns to Amelie Lens’ Lenske for his second 12” on the Belgian label, ‘Rave Cycle’. Previous solo EPs on Molekul, on his Elixyr and the acclaimed ‘Voltage’ EP on Lenske earlier this year have brought him to play at some of the most emblematic clubs of the international circuit and become part of the Exhale showcases. Following a new round of bombastic releases by the Lenske crew: Farrago, Milo Spykers and Lens herself, it’s now the turn for the Elixyr Records boss to bring the heat. 

As expected from AIROD, this new record sounds like it could have been released in 1994. He uses references from rave, acid and gabber together with his fresh approach, the result are 4 club-ready cuts to hit massive sound systems. 'Onur Ozman links up with the celebrated vocalist Lazarusman for a new EP on Comport. It features their standout original It Hurts and comes with a wealth of remixes from the likes of Audio Junkies, Matthias Schuell and Khainz. Version 1 of It Hurts is a dark and complex tune with spangled synths and icy percussion layered over the rolling drums. Version 2 is more freaky and tripped out with the Lazarusman vocals layering in darkness over the top, while the Prelude itself is a vocal interlude that will be great for DJs who like to be adventurous. The Audio Junkies remix is stripped back and deep, with slippery drums and spine tingling synths all getting you into a hypnosis. Matthias Schuell then serves up a much more melodic version with sci-fi keys and far gazing chords that carry you away into another galaxy. Last of all is Khainz, an edgy version with digital sound designs and a freaky mood that keeps you guessing. This is a fantastic package from an exciting label that offers plenty for everyone.'

A familiar face on the Berlin techno scene, Marcus Meinhardt can frequently be found ripping it up at Kater Blau and many of Germany’s other leading clubs. He is also no stranger to Exploited Ghetto with previous slammers like ‘Hibiskuss’ and ‘House Of Beats’ doing major damage’. 
‘Masada’ is another beast that builds imperceptibly to an intense throb through its perfectly balanced arrangement. A plump kick underpins shuffling tambourine rhythms and woodblock hits, while moody synth stabs give a sense of what’s to come. Droning textures growl as hints of the bass tease into life. On-beat stabs filter up ever-so-slowly while rasping electro pulses thrust into the groove. A rapid-fire synth refrain adds more colour before swathes of white noises lift the track upwards. 
As the synth interplay continues to intensify, snare rolls usher towards new levels of intensity. The succinct yet deadly potent main hook of the the track is brought into play, dragging a spine-tingling chord progression with it. The on-beat stabs brigthen in their intensity, creating a real sense of urgency. A big snare-roll filled breakdown teases us before the arrangement is stripped back to its tribal simplicity before the final crescendo of the track hits us. Fans of Innervisions and classic Bodzin and Huntemann material should lap this right up.
