Stay is a dynamic album with influences spanning from Acid House (Fearless), to Italo Disco (Pepper), to 90s Warp Records (Loved You). On Stay, Joseph Ashworth presents a focused and considered body of work that displays a wealth of growth from his last full-length release Grain, released in 2015.

The original intention wasn't to record a full-length album. An opportunity arose to create an AI project (AIMI) where elements of his unreleased work would be re-interpreted by machine learning to generate an ever-evolving music experience. This inspired Joseph to bring together years' worth of music for listeners interested in the cutting edge of technology, but also reminded Joseph of his love of the traditional 'album' format. So throughout 2021, and with less travel, Joseph created 10 tracks and meticulously edited and arranged them into a fluid, engaging listening experience.

Joseph comments, "Stay is the connection of ten tracks I started over the past five years. Time and patience were key in the recording process, with an aim to make each track as unique and emotionally vivid as possible".

The first track Kings, revolves around melancholy piano chords, propped up by crisp percussion and rich swells of string and synth pads - it outlines the album’s ambitious level of experimentation from the get-go. Then there’s the disco-tinged and synth-laden Fearless, while Carbonated leans towards techno; a flowing staccato synth line and a swampy, deep bass, which offers a stark contrast to the beautiful stripped back ambient track that follows, Dressed Up.

The first single to be released from the LP, Pepper breaches full club-pumper territory, with an Italo-esque synth lead, chunky, forceful kicks and a chugging bassline. Loved You features metallic chords and an alien vocal that guides the listener through a rich sonic landscape and is reminiscent of the works of Aphex Twin and Squarepusher. It’s another landmark long player from one of electronic music’s most interesting talents.

Stay takes the listener on a deep and stimulating journey, and although each of the tracks could hold their own as individuals, the album as a whole is lovingly crafted, expertly sequenced and could only be achieved by an artist with a true passion for their music.

Joseph Ashworth’s highly acclaimed releases on Life & Death, Get Weird, Pets, ELEMENTS, and Needwant have helped him grow a reputable fanbase on both sides of the Atlantic, receiving support from all corners of the electronic music scene including Lee Burridge, Jonas Rathsman, DJ Tennis, Patrice Baumel, Kolsch and many more. As a performer Joseph is a unique, exciting and versatile DJ which has seen him play extended sets at the likes of CRSSD Festival and Printworks as well tours of the Far East and North America.

Following on from the March release of 'Above Ground', The Cobb returns to -102C with a new single entitled 'Yana'. 2021 proved to be a breakout year for the Russian artist, as he continued to showcase a blend of organic and progressive house across his home labels of Deepwibe Underground and -102C. Perhaps most impressive was his 'Elements' anthology in conjunction with progressive music star Dmitry Molosh. The four release series went down as one of the years most ambitious projects and also gave us a look into a different side of Dmitry. Born and raised in Casablanca, Morocco, Fassi found his way to electronic music only when he moved to Montreal, discovering the city's eclectic club scene. After months practicing his craftsmanship as a DJ, he quickly saw himself warming-up for rising artists such as Lake People or Good Guy Mikesh, as well as playing in the same parties as top-notch performers like Recondite and John Tejada.His production talents have top now been recognised by labels such as Bar25 Music, Art Vibes Music and Motek to name three.



Now comes his debut for Stripped Recordings featuring Brazilian vocalist Malvina Lacerda "Desejo Luoco" which features two remixes accompanying the Original. First up Canadian duo Day by Day with a melodic techno interpretation also making their first appearance on the label after considerable success on labels such as fryhide, Sudbeat, and Beat Boutique. Taking us in a a deep, organic journey from Greece comes VieL making his second appearance as a remixer following his first back in 2018..

"We are happy to present DSF on Zenebona. He is more than just an artist for us. He is a friend of the label and the Hungarian organic house community too. It is a big honor to release a track that is dedicated to the 102 victims of a forest fire that reached the town of Mati in Greece in the summer of 2018.

Due to this huge tragedy, the track is full of emotions presented in the unique style of the well-known and beloved Greek producer DSF (All I Dream, Vaults). That incident touched DSF deeply, so he decided to express his emotions in his own artistic way.

The release has two remixes, one made by Savvas who is also from Greece. He made an amazing trippy tune in his own signature style.

The other remixer is the label owner Peter Makto. He got the remix request from DSF as another personal link between the two friends. Peter’s remix has a bit more progressive house feel merged with his own individual organic sound."

Niko Schwind and Robbie Akbal team up in Berlin last year during a few studio sessions collaborating with Ay Sarita to wrap a powerful organic anthem called ¨Caminando de Noche¨ filled with mystic elements and driving music .

It was a great tune featured in our 15 years of Akbal Music compilation, that we asked Noraj Cue and Landikhan , some amazing producers at the moment to remix the track.

Noraj Cue from Happy Campers and Tale & Tone delivers a fat groover with shinny melodic elements & epic journey on the breakdown playing nicely with the vocal and some quirky sounds finalizing a great arrangement.

Landikhan from Spain delivers a more mid tempo indie disco ish vibes oriented remix very groovy and full of great sounds that will make some magic all around.
Such a wonderful pair of remixes, we are more than excited to welcome this two hyper talented producers to the Akbal Music family.

Noise maker, music collector and plant lover: this is N'Pot, a DJ and producer from Buenos Aires who has just connected with us for the release of his new EP, 'Dioon Edule'. This affection for the flora is taken to heart by the artist, who titled the EP after a prehistoric species of tropical palm originally from Mexico.

Such organicness is transmitted through his music, of course, and the track 'Dioon Edule' has as its strength his soft percussive construction linked to reverberant melodic timbres between the nomadic and the synthetic. In addition to the original track, the Brazilian @pevemusic was invited to create a special remix that elevates the sound facet to a more clubber place without losing the softness requested by the genre.

Following a concept, as enlightened as the musical frequencies involved in this work, is the track "Parahelio" — mention of the optical phenomenon in which the sky shows three suns — made in collaboration with fellow Argentine Nicolas Giordano and rocked by a more enigmatic and profound musical semblance.
