Plaisirs Sonores Records announce the release of 'Gems, pt. 1', their first-ever VA featuring three talented artists from different parts of the world: Maezbi and Paul (AR), both from Argentina, and Savvas from Greece. The release showcases the unique sounds and styles of each artist, making it a must-listen for fans of electronic music.

Maezbi's track "Wonderland" is a beautiful, easy-listening progressive tune that draws listeners in with its lush synths and soothing melodies, complemented by a beautiful spoken male vocal. Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint rounds out the month of April by showcasing new interpretations of 'Amirim' by Choopie and Golan Zocher. With a career that spans the better part of three decades, Israeli artist Choopie is widely regarded as one of his country's premiere electronic music talents. Releases via Bedrock and Yoshitoshi laid the groundwork for what has been a storied career, one which has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years. Meanwhile, Colombian born, Israel based artist Golan Zocher has enjoyed similar success across his five-year career, landing releases via Nick Warren's The Soundgarden and Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music. Paired occasionally since 2020, Choopie and Golan have masterfully synthesized their talents and found that creative balance between progressive and organic house, taking their enchanting sound to Mango Alley, Sol Selectas and Choopie's own Agnosia Black imprint. Madloch's Sound Avenue has also been a landing spot for the duo, with 'Alush' highlighting the label's popular Correlation series in 2021, ultimately leading to 2022's three-track showcase 'Amirim'. Now, looking to build on the success of 'Amirim', Sound Avenue invites Kyotto, Inherent (AU)
and Figueras to re-imagine the EP for 2023's spring season.

We're excited to welcome back Tantum, aka Thomas Koch, back to Juicebox Music with his single "Korner" as our 65th release. Tantum made his debut with us in the beginning of 2019 with a 3-track EP and further cemented his association with a remix of Eric Lune's "Tantra" & another EP in mid-2020. The German artist, now based in Berlin, quickly grabbed the attention of well renowned labels from the get-go, namely Jonas Saalbach's 'Radikon' & Super Flu's 'Monaberry'. Hot off the press with his 3rd EP on Guy J's 'Lost & Found', Tantum serves up his latest offering titled "Korner", a deep yet powerfully driven track that ticks off all the check-boxes that define his much revered signature sound as well as exploring a wider sonic palette.

Making his much revered return to the imprint is Sri Lanka's very own Subandrio. An absolute master at his craft with an unmistakable sound, Subandrio's faithful following isn't just limited to his home country but touches every progressive house fan around the world. His powerful productions have found their way home to Hernan Cattaneo's 'Sudbeat', Cid Inc's 'Replug' & many others. His last association with us was "Bounties from Within", an ambient contribution to Chapter 2 of our 'Tales of Time' compilation. Subandrio continued to stretch out into the electronica space with an EP on Sahar Z & Guy J's downtempo imprint 'Armadillo Records'. Subandrio's take on Tantum's "Korner" maintains the tone of the original while turning it a little darker with a bit of an ethnic-inspired twist during the breakdown.

Taylan enters Francesco Pico's Magnitude Recordings with 'Sin', a big progressive house tension builder. Proper dancefloor candy right here by the artist who is known from his releases on Space Tale Records, Manual Music, Area Verde and Steyoyoke to name a few.

On remix duties first up its Yonsh who makes his return on the label, and next to him its Soulmade who makes his Magnitude debut (with more to come from him later this year!).

'A rising star from South America, Ric Niels has lit up the progressive house scene over the past three years. Now joining the Proportion roster, the Argentinean artist releases his “Pirate / Psyncopath” EP.

Renowned for his evocative and emotive sound, Ric Niels has found himself courted by some of the finest modern imprints through his fusing of analogue and digital synths to create a blend of deep, organic and tech sounds. As such, his music has found a welcome home on such celebrated imprints as The Soundgarden, Particles, Plaisirs Sonores and Mango Alley. Almost a half-century of production credits can thus be found for the latter in both solo and collaborative guises with Ric seeing work with Dowden, The Wash and Mango himself grace the Russian imprint.

Supported by an elite DJ cast list that includes the likes of Nick Warren, Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo and Henry Saiz, it is not difficult to see why the Argentinean from Chaco Province has continued to be such a sought-after producer within the progressive house fraternity. Opening his Proportion account with a scintillating musical diptych, “Pirate” immediately grabs listener attention with its pounding beat and deep bassline groove. Light percussive touches pervade the dense sonic layers as trademark melodic prowess reveals itself through a dynamic dancefloor backdrop. Cascading synth lines and delay-infused arpeggios ripple across the soundstage, coming to the fore at a striped back breakdown before a growling bass riff heralds an exciting final movement full of potency and drive.

Pulling the listener in with a shaker-fuelled percussive line and chest-thumping kick, “Psyncopath” provides the hallmark rhythmic poise for which Ric Niels has become renowned for. Full of sinister menace, a creeping bassline pattern and textured pads swim dizzyingly across the stereo spectrum in the early stages before a filtered arpeggio wends its way onto the main stage with poise and verve. Infused with white-noise at a mid-point chock full of sonic layers and captivating melodic characters, the final movement drives effortlessly forward as the hypnotic groove once again finds it mark.

Lighting up the stage on Proportion, Ric Niels delivers another moment of mesmerising magic with his “Pirate / Psyncopath” EP.'
