French brothers Betical, return to Oddity after being present on Odd Echoes Vol.4 and showing us their remixing skills on Avidus “Wanderer s Nightsong”.Now the time has come to present us their debut EP “Trouble”, including a fabulous remix by the duo Baime.

The opening track, "Trouble", is a groovy and melodic dancefloor weapon. Its main melody, catchy and haunting, gradually builds the track, accompanied by textures and percussions that complement each other. As we move forward and into the drop, the classic chord transitions and signature synths that make Betical unique and recognizable, play along a sort of emotional vocal ad lib, returning in full force to this dancefloor groover.

The next track in the pack is “Wildfire”, a deeper but still powerful heavenly melodic track, with Tailor's lovely vocals coming in full on the drop, creating so many beautiful harmonic layers with the synths and chords coming together.

In the remix duties, the Copenhagen duo, rework the track, with a distorted bass hook stab, adding their classic percussive elements, and playing with other elements of the original. The highlight of the track is when they show us their main melody, giving us a total twist on the original version.

To close the EP, betical presents “Oro”, a track more focused on electronica, with breaks rhythms, accompanied by vocal cuts, and pads that run through the track. The emotions never cease to surprise us in this last track, which makes it even more powerful when the main melody enters.

The latest release from Tash's Movement Recordings finds Eleven Of July returning for his first EP. Since first emerging four years ago, Italian artist August Proto aka Eleven Of July has enjoyed a steady rise in the world of melodic house and techno. His astral sounds have found favour with andME, Dj Tennis, Dubfire, Undercatt and more, while landing him releases via Awen Records, Dear Deer, Eat My Hat and Us and Them Records. Having made his Movement Recordings debut last year with a contribution to the label's popular 'Technical Progress' Vol. 11 collection, Eleven Of July now returns for his first EP entitled 'Call From the Blue'.

Spread across four tracks it's the cosmic techno sounds of the title selection which get the EP underway. Dark and mysterious from the outset, it's punchy low end and rippling rhythms provide momentous drive, while astral hooks and haunting atmospheres fill in the framework. A symphonic lead theme rises, adding further spice to the groove, before a second and final break serves drama and tension as the framework resets for a prophetic finale. The second selection 'Needful Things' surveys a similar design profile but with a further lean into progressive techno territory. Beginning with a stripped yet punchy groove, the piece evolves with crunchy rhythms, wispy vocal elements and an arcane lead line carrying into the main break. Low end swells and swirling noise make for a tense interlude, as the main theme shape-shifts deeper into your subconscious, eventually melting down to a wave of noise and frantic final act.

The EP's halfway point is marked by 'From Beyond' which finds Eleven Of July continuing to flex the peak time side of his studio repertoire. Tough and muscular throughout, it's an incredibly thrilling seven-minute journey. Bulbous beats and pulsating grooves provide the foundation, while metallic tones marry percussive flashes and icy pads, before getting washed away in a trail of thunderous sonics. The release concludes with 'Not Going Far' where Eleven Of July explores a darker narrative without drifting too far from the mood set by its predecessors. It's tough, rolling groove is perfectly carved, adorned with dynamic drums, waves of percussion and compelling cosmic artefacts. Sitting as a tasteful complement to the previous selections, its melodic prowess proves irresistible, with a striking lead theme paving the way towards an exhilarating finale. It rounds out an inspired collection of music from Eleven Of July, making for an excellent return to Tash's Movement Recordings

'Hailing from Ukraine, SHMN is a master at melding the gamut of styles and sonics across the spectrum of electronic music. His productions glue myriad moods, genres, and stylistic tricks but they all carry one consistent quality which is passion.

Now - in a huge step forward for the multi-faceted artist, SHMN presets his debut LP which is due to be released on his own self-titled imprint “SHMN”. This platform is the soil upon which he can truly allow his productions to grow - a fertile platform that will form the basis of the inflorescence of a truly talented musician. 

“Interstice” LP demonstrates the versatility of his productions: cinematic breakdowns, a variety of beat structures, astute sequencing across all tracks, and a true sense of narrative throughout result in a highly accomplished body of work.

From the pensive opening track to the lusciously ethereal “Ocean” which features swooning vocals from Aves Volare - the LP kicks off in emotive style. Tracks such as “Nemesis” and “Ambush” then dim the lights and drive galvanized kicks under thick, tense melodies. “Ricochet” follows up with a trippy, big-room floor filler as flickering synths dart atop a reverberated thud before “Abyss” brings an intergalactic trip to a tranquil landing.

This is truly an LP with a lot to offer - one for the armchair astronauts as much as the 36-hour ravers; a shining example of what's to come from an artist truly on the ascent.'

After their highly emotional „quarantine" 'Home' single in 2020, that quickly became one of the most successful tracks of the involved artists, even looking at a remarkable back catalogue, the trio is back with a more club related release. The Siamese creators Adriatique and Marino Canal have built a deep human and musical relationship over the years that reflects in their carefully selected output and keeps on impressing with the new EP.

„'All In Ever Wanted' takes us back to our earlier projects", remember Adriatique. "It got a strong, sub driven groove, less climactic than the usual club hit but persuasive by the powerful sound and clever arrangement. 'Accordia' on the flip relies a bit more on building up tension while the track carries on. The synth work reminds of 'All In Ever Wanted', the songs are siblings so to say. Different but with a connecting element at the same time."
