Istanbul stand up as O’ner returns with a stellar EP on the prolific Petra Recordings, the “Another Behaviour” EP features two originals from the talented producer, and on remix duties the label have called on Philipp Lichtblau and Bajazo. A dynamite selection of tracks ready to rock a dancefloor near you this summer.
Kicking things off is some steady club room action in “Magnetic Feel”, deep and emotive synths breathe life into the chunky bass and drum arrangements. Packing a punch and presenting a particular energy as the atmosphere around you begins to simmer. Title track “Another Behaviour” is another mysterious yet impactful house cut, the elastic groove continues to spiral as dreamy elements sprinkle their magic, a classy track for the early morning dreamers.
First on the remixes of Vienna's own Philipp Lichtblau, his remix of “Magnetic Feel” is stripped back in flavour, quirky textures bubble around the powerful drive in the track. A fantastic contrast to the original. Next stop Leipzig! Bajazo closes the EP with his remix of “Another Behaviour”, sitting comfortably on a slightly more dubby tip, maintaining the depth of the original.

'From the coziest speakeasy bars to the tastiest late night sandwich counters, New York City is full of delightful secrets that reward those lucky enough to find them. One of Brooklyn’s best kept secrets is Kyle Louis (fka KLM), a talented yet unassuming veteran of the underground house scene who now makes his debut with the Run It Back EP.

The third Fortune Signal label release features Louis’s impeccable original productions, in which he explores a variety of emotions, rhythms, and times of the night. Classic synths, ethereal vocal chops, and subtle dubby effects provide an overall sense of cohesion throughout.The end product is a collection of fresh, contemporary compositions rooted in classic house music language, each track full of the potential to inspire transcendent dancefloor moments.

Run It Back is a culmination of Kyle Louis’s years spent both in the club and the studio. Louis spent nearly a decade DJing and throwing parties in NYC, sharing stages with the likes of Tom Noble, Jacques Renault, and Juan MacLean before taking a break to refocus his energy on production. His past disco edits, beloved by the DJs fortunate enough to get their hands on them, have given him an innate understanding of dance music fundamentals. These experiences have served as the foundation for Kyle Louis’s creative voice as he ushers in this exciting new chapter of his understated but vital musical journey.

“Piano Speed Trap” is the peak time banger of the EP, powered by a pumping house groove and held together by insistent piano chords and wordlessly yearning vocal samples; the EP’s first single is tastefully restrained yet fully equipped for proper dancefloor damage.

The subbiest tune of the bunch, “Run It Back” slots in perfectly during the early part of the night. It’s guided by a pulsating bass line and filtered synth stabs that underscore a mesmerizing, otherworldly lead.

“Further” is a laid-back groover. The track builds energy with crisp live drum samples interplaying with atmospheric textures, and the whimsical synth melody draws inspiration from blog house-era indie bands.

“Should I Go?” begins with classic garage house drums before switching to a broken beat and an echoing, hypnotic arpeggio. Louis then brings the track to its apex with an ecstatic four-to-the-floor groove accentuated by reverberant synth pads.

On remix duties is Will Buck, a producer, DJ, and label boss well-known in the NYC and Miami dance music communities, with releases on such labels as Shall Not Fade, Pleasant Systems, and Whiskey Disco. Buck flips “Should I Go?” into a down and dirty house banger that’s driven by a forceful breakbeat and punctuated with a sinister rhodes melody.

LA based producer and DJ Choopsie announces her new ‘Remembering EP’ on Silver Bear Recordings. Set for release on the 21st September with lead singles Remembering and Magnify dropping over the summer.

After falling in love with electronic music whilst interning at Outlook and Dimensions festival, Alex Adkins AKA Choopsie has been building an impressive discography of releases, inspired by the likes of Elkka and Logic1000. With previous outings on Fantastic Voyage and RVDIOVCTIVE, Choopsie’s ‘Remembering EP’ dives deeper into her introspective style, showcasing her ability to intricately weave together captivating chord progressions, vocal samples and synth lines. Since her debut EP release in 2020 she’s been on a roll, playing at the legendary Dirtybird campout, releasing 3 further EP’s and playing shows in LA, Denver, NYC and Paris, with additional sets in Europe this summer.

Lead single ‘Remembering’ kicks off the EP with dreamy pads crescendoing into a flurry of garage influenced drums and delicately chopped up vocal samples. Magnify is an immersive listen, showcasing Choopsie’s ability to create lush, blissful lead lines on a backdrop of deep groove ridden beats. Rune is a nostalgic infused track, featuring swirling pads and punchy breaksy drums, producing euphoric and atmospheric moments and Echoes closes the EP in style with rich textures created using bouncy synths and sultry arps.

Choopsie says “I made this EP last winter while visiting home in Virginia and traveling around the east coast. Inspired to break out of my usual routine for making music, I challenged myself to make songs that were very different from my previous releases. I was really missing the music scene in LA and wanted to make something that I could play live when I returned, but that would also be suitable to listen at home'

'The second Abstract Cuts release is an EP split four ways, but with new, unconventional approaches to the dancefloor at the heart of each submission and all using vintage drum machines and samplers. The Robot Dance Connection's 'Powers Of Ten' (R2d2 live edit) kicks off side one, shiny high frequency polish played off against a gorgeously stubborn techno beat, before the slinkier and smoother 'Gold Saucer' by Brunzi offers an equally danceable but less angular counterpoint. Flip it over and Tomska's 'Lethal Overdose' (Touch dub 2022) offers rushing sonics, off kilter snare damage and four to the floor thump, before Emile's 'Jeu Froid' completes the set in grimy basement style.'

'Worthy' is nearly cracking that harmony with raw, almost careless cut Afro Latin jazz samples, deep chords and spherical particles embedded, but a funky bass always keeps the easy vibe. 

'Lingerie' opens the flip-side with a tight beat, perfectly complemented with a noisy piano lick, strings, horns and some hip hop cuts. 

'Overseas Phone Number' then rounds out the release by featuring a swinging rhythm, lovely string pads, pleasant saxophone parts and paying tribute to a French rap classic. Altogether, you will answer it with a smile, for sure. With this in your bag, you´ll be prepared for toughest rescues!'
