'Moin! The northern light brings us the next release by Hamburg-based duo Surreal & Erhardt Schuster. Both are deeply rooted in electronic underground music as well as heavily involved in the local club scene. Since the clubs are closed, there’s plenty of studio time which results here in the „Multicano EP“. The super-solid constellation contains two extraordinary originals and two remixes by some well-known faces of the label: our favorite lazerslut Miro Pajic and CVO, which is is the new alias for more subtle grooves by Casimir von Oettingen!

The title track by the duo is a batshit crazy minimal rocker which steps out of the line and is anything else than usual. Bless! On a reduced beat structure, the fine oddity in shape of gnarly sounds and blurbs, takes its course straight to the face of still-awake-sunday-troopers. Welcome to the freak show! Of course Miro was the perfect match to treat these sounds for a remix and as usual, he rinse off all the left-over details of this tune. He put a motherfuckin’ proper bass below and takes care of the snaggy sound to be in pole position. Hell yes!'

Both artists spoke about the inspiration behind the release, stating: “Bleeping In Me is about deep expression; Euphoria is about exploring melodies and simplicity; and the idea behind Otaku 1996 was to make a cool track straight out of Detroit in the nineties.”

The title track leads the charge, taking the form of a slow-building, minimal-toned number as subtle hats build upon punchy, whip-like kicks. Euphoria soon arrives, pairing emotive key solos next to resonant synth combos before Otaku 1996 completes proceedings. The eight minute piece leaves few prisoners in its wake, manifesting as a late-night, club-ready cut that’s built purely for the dancefloor.

Dachshund has been a regular of Switzerland's club circuit for decades. Having co-found Clapper alongside fellow Swiss-talent Quenum, the imprint acts as an outlet for solely self-made productions, whilst Dachshund has also found a welcome home on Nick Curly’s 8bit and Audiojack’s Gruuv to name a few. From playing his first gig abroad at the iconic Panorama Bar, to mixing number 201 of RA’s coveted mix series, Chaton has remained a pillar of quality electronic music since the early 2000’s. His own label, Plak Records, has been a bastion of contemporary minimal techno for twenty years and he continues such a legacy thanks to his recently launched vinyl only imprint, Useless Transmissions.

The latest release on Madloch's Crossfade Sounds imprint welcomes Mielafon back to the label with his second EP "Dreams".

Mielafon is a pseudonym of a Saint Petersburg musician / producer / DJ who since the beginning of the 90s has been manifesting himself both in music and in various artistic visual and audio projects, sometimes disappearing in search of his own place in life. Regardless of style or genre, there is always a solution in navigating and developing appropriate audio visualizations for modern minds. But now he is swimming in the river of techno and house music. Each new project brings emotions at the most unexpected moment.

Love ain`t easy. Sometimes it even takes hostages. Inspired by this perception Cesare vs Disorder and Dave Vega have produced four tracks that are coming out now on their Love Takes Hostages EP. For their prelude, Mindless digs deep into the ear canal and creates a nearly threatening vibe with synths weighing heavy like the night.With a humming, pushing groove, the title track Love Takes Hostages then sets in with the psychedelic effect of drifted vocals and particles of tones. On The Beauty and The Beast, they apply themselves to their interpretation of the classic tale. The melancholic piano sets a distinct course. Directly to the point, the beats juxtapose the thick mist of playful sounds. Lastly, Worldwide, the fourth track on this EP conjures its high in a coppice of wafting rhythms and noises.

Cécille Records presents the debut project and album from Cabin Luv Affair late June, the new guise from a well known regular on the imprint who shall remain anonymous and allow the music to speak for itself.

This new project will mark a shift in Cécille’s output as the long running and widely beloved label embraces the long player format, one which allows artists to delve deeper into their influences and showcase a diversity of styles. Something which is perfectly encapsulated here with this new project by Cabin Luv Affair.

Across the thirteen track album, Cabin Luv Affair offers up an amalgamation of styles from the smooth Parisian and filter House feels of tracks like opener ‘Vida (Intro), ‘Naked In Love (Pimpin Ain’t Easy Mix) and ‘Feelin’ Good But Lonely’ through to more classic Disco-tinged House cuts like ‘Right Or Wrong’, ‘Lo Que Soy’ and closing track ‘To The Moon And Back’.

Also on offer are some tracks aesthetically deeply rooted in raw house music in its purest form, like the dreamy chord and crisp rhythm fuelled ‘Mirror In Mirror’, the swinging, bumpy groove of the aptly titled ‘Magic Ride’ and the bouncy, swinging drum groove, soaring vocals and choppy stab sequences making up ‘Over Your Face’. Cabin Luv Affair also throws in some playful interlude like tracks with ‘Follow The Path (Skit)’ and the low-slung hip-hop tinged ‘Play The Game (Skit)’ to truly capture the sonic exploratory feel a long player format allows.
