'Clarisse brings its A-game from Argentina. Four tracks of house concentrating on the essentials of mind, body and soul, Juan & Jerëmie's 'Sonic' experience is deep but powerful, smooth but with plenty going on, classically styled while keeping it upfront and uptempo, and thoughtful while decorated with bright flashes and moments of exhilaration.

The skippy 'Sonic', tagged by background, backward chatter, develops a steely attitude with synth jabs injecting a touch of tension to proceedings that signal the moment for the strobes to kick in. Those strobes give way to swirling, atmospheric scenery as 'Mountain' looks over beats that mean business; built on immersive warmth but progressing with ice cold drive, it comes fitted with a filtered tech cycle and vocals delivering dancefloor prophecies from high.

A trip to the 'Moon' tells the party to prepare itself: your textbook Chicago bassline gravitates to a synth rotation dashing in and out like a funky release of fireworks, guided by voices both mysterious and romantic as Juan and Jerëmie stay firm but bouncy on the BPMs. 'Deeper Trip' is another equipped with the tools to cleanse the essence, building into a groove working up a sweat and with a vocal striking out from putting its arm around speakers, summarising the EP making hard work look and sound easy.

With music in his family tree, Barcelona-based Jerëmie has his sights on global recognition, strengthening his position with a series of talked about European appearances after putting in regional scene work. Levelling up after taking on the best of what South America has to offer, Juan Fernandez has already bagged a string of releases for a variety of top labels, and has kept Dennis Cruz and Franky Rizardo company on the decks. Both set a high standard for what Clarisse have in store over the next 12 months.'

Back and fresh after an intense summer festival season 2k18 is Berlin-based Jose Antonio Garcia Soler, better known to his friends and followers by his artistic nom de guerre Kid Simius.

With his new EP Planet Of The Simius - the first track of his upcoming album – he followed the way to create his very own sound. Kid Simius lives for the moment and he makes music for the moment – so a track is born which will make your day more easy and the night seriously peaceful and unique. With its memorable synth-melody, the groovy bassline and the iconic vocals, you can see it as a tribute to the golden age of Disco music or you can just dance on it!

To solidify his weekly appearence in the german electronic scene two different and famous producers took on the track in the release to make a special remixes package. Katermukke head Dirty Doering did what he knows best and gave the track a very warm and deep soul, which will heat up the upcoming cold days. If you like it rougher, watch out the remix by the uprising Techno-Duo Hidden Empire who delivers an progressive dancefloor vibe that settles and unfurls a resistles groove.

In the end you can say that the record is the expression of a long and loving relationship with music of many different kinds. Proove it!

Tibi Dabo is the latest project from Barcelona born DJ and producer Max Guardans. Following on from last year’s La Dorada on Rebellion, he brings his enigmatic sonic exploration to Crosstown this May.

The EP opens up with the gentle yet thudding bass of Her Moon. The track is ten minutes of pure euphoria. Mesmerising cosmic synths travel towards the first breakdown where the track enters a darker phase before they weave their way back in as a 90s inspired piano topline joins proceedings. It’s All Behind takes the EP on a deeper trip with an emotive, soulful, vocal and shimmering melodies. Closing the EP, Nowhere Beach deploys a rapid beat with industrial hints and a rolling bassline, whilst keeping the cosmic feel of its predecessors. A warm synthline uplifts in the breakdown.

The alias of Max Guardans, Tibi Dabo is also the name of a mountain that overlooks Guardans’ hometown of Barcelona. Under this alias the young DJ and producer seeks to explore and experiment with a wide and varied sonic soundscape. His first EP, 2017’s Ende, was signed to Sasha’s highly acclaimed label, Last Night On Earth. Last year’s offering La Dorada was picked up by Damian Lazarus who signed it to his Rebellion imprint, with both EPs showcasing Guardans’ ability to create evocative music that shows a musical maturity beyond his years.

Boran Ece was born in the same decade as house music. However, Boran’s story is not a commercially driven one about a young artist who experimented with musical instruments from an early age. It is also not about a young raver who spent his summer holidays on Ibiza, and later made it onto the most famous stages of the world. The essence of his life story is not just linked to events – it is an emerging legacy of the history of art. Boran finds inspiration throughout the depths of the electronic music world and is able to share his art in the furthest corners of the globe like Amsterdam, Berlin and Istanbul, and on labels like Lemon Juice Records. ‘Relance’ now sees him launch his Son d’Étroit imprint as a platform for his original material which includes a remix from Berlin-based engineer Hannes Bieger who has releases on Tronic, Poker Flat, Bedrock and Fryhide.

Homemade sound waves: this is what the first release of the new label Son d'Étroit sounds like. The label founder, Boran Ece made the inaugural release a matter close to his heart and shows his performance side with this track. ‘Relance’ is a skillfully created chaos has arisen that presents and unites precisely chosen elements. Soulful, pure, minimal with an organic deep house touch that’s food for the dancers. Hannes Bieger’s version is an alluring cut with dubbed-out textures, pulsating bass rolls and inviting melodies that harmonise delightfully with the softening vocals throughout.

'Dabeat has been releasing lots of great music for many years, gracing Timeless Moment, Plaisirs Sonores and Mango alley to name just a few. This time the Columbian artist has teamed up with several musical friends to bring us Hioda EP.

Kicking off with the title track Hioda, the first collaboration comes from Zalvador. A fellow Columbian with releases on Plattenbank, onedotsixtwo and Univack. This combination brings us tough and deep and dark, as wobbly synths glide over this chunky vibed workout, before an unexpectedly warm yet tripped out breakdown.

A second collab with Zalvador entitled 'Atom', is another menacing peak time throbber. Non nonsense solidness from the off, as this melodic dark slab of filth unleashes itself.

Keeping it Columbian, Mauro Aguirre steps up with the wonderful 'Arcade' collaboration with Dabeat. With labels like Hope and Maunal under his belt, there's no wonder this gem oozes of quality. A brooding deep workout, an effected arp and a uber cool swaggering groove all combine wonderfully.

Rounding off this Columbian extravaganza Kamilo Sanclemente and Dabeat deliver 'Reflector'. Kamilo's music has appeared on The Soundgarden and Anjunadeep, and here brings his melodics to the release. Dramatic yet warm, this sold gem really delivers the goods!'
