Plaisirs Sonores Records announce the release of 'Gems, pt. 1', their first-ever VA featuring three talented artists from different parts of the world: Maezbi and Paul (AR), both from Argentina, and Savvas from Greece. The release showcases the unique sounds and styles of each artist, making it a must-listen for fans of electronic music.

For the 27th JEUDI issue let’s welcome back one of the label headhonchos Doctor Dru. The “Savannah” EP is uniting his past as a drummer and his feel for hooky, layered arpeggios in a perfect manner. Dru’s tracks are always welcomed sureshots on the foor. His last contribution “The Pattern” stirred up the summer in Ibiza in 2015 and was played to death by major league artists like Solomun or Nic Fanciulli. This year his infamous remixes of D-nox & Beckers “Serenade” on JEUDI , Nico Stojans “BLUE HOUR” and Sailor &I’s “Letters” stirred up the festivals and foors around the world. We are sure this release will fnd his way in the playlist of many DJs as well.

The “Savannah” leads you in the wide of the african steppe merging multi layered arpish melodies into one fne percussion driven hypnotizing tune. Of course with never missing the hands up moment.

“Praerie” is featuring a little darker atmosphere but not less percussion driven. You’ll fnd Dru’s signature drone with trancy melody interjections. But the breakdown is what made the tracks name. Inspired by the west coast synth melodies of the late 70’s it comes suprisingly and with just the right power to make the crowd freak out.

Hailed as one of 'LA's Best Kept Secrets', DAVI translates his childhood passion for music by partnering with Definition to launch their new label which will be more focused on tracks that have a story and that have a specific mood that's not happy or melancholic. Our favourite couple of the underground is coming with their second 2 tracker on JEUDI. Two stunning pieces accompanied by an uber remix of the sought after duo Innellea. Great excitement in the JEUDI house to finally present these much demanded and already well supported works. 

“Hypnos” is a laid back multi facetted deep groover with all the coolness and experience of Danito & Athina’s production skills. Always evolving, great story telling and cocooning the crowd in melodic deep vibes leaving only happy faces. 

Innelleas reinterpretation of “Hypnos” is adding the flavour of the wild west including some decent cowbell action and a nonchalant compelling guitar work. Reminding of Neil Young’s work forJim Jarmusch’s movie “Dead Man” combined with tripping voodoo synth spheres.

“My Body” is featuring Athina’s voice with an undeniable seductiveness. This seething almost mystical tune builds a very own deep and profound atmosphere.

Sincopat presents two of the best kept secrets of the year: Zurich based DJ and producer Jimi Jules remixes Upercents Pulsacions, and on the other hand, French talent Damon Jee offers a new version of AFFKTs Parafernalia.

Parafernalia was originally released at the end of 2017 included in the AFFKT Pentode EP. This release also includes huge remixes by Audiojack and Citizen Kain, but Sincopat head honcho still had a bullet in his gun. Parisian guy Damon Jee created some weeks later this incredible dancefloor killer with the Parafernalia samples. By his side, Pulsacions was included in the Upercents Tretze EP released also last year and offering top remixes by Nick Warren and Blond:ish. Now the Swiss unpredictable talent Jimi Jules gives his best presenting a groovy and hypnotic slice of electronic music.

The latest edition of our free download series finds Simos Tagias making his debut appearance. The Greek artist has been one of his country’s brightest stars in progressive house with a discography that features releases on Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music, Beatfreak, Movement Recordings and Proton Music. Of late the Athens resident has been focusing on the more techno inspired spectrum of progressive house. A sound that has lent itself quite well to Way Out West’s classic ‘The Fall’. Released in the year 2000 and remixed by Bedrock, its dark hypnotic motifs were a staple in the sets of many top DJs at the time. Having released the acclaimed ​Be Mine on Crosstown Rebels in 2017, Berlin-based Siopis lands on Rebellion with ​Unconditional​, a poignant two-tracker that features the vocals of esteemed DnB lyricist, MC Coppa.

“An interview with Lauryn Hill inspired me to make this release. It blew me away and I felt it straight in my heart, so I wanted to share the deep message that comes from it. I put her vocals into the break of the lead track, and Unconditionalwasborn.”S​iopis​.

Beginning with the ethereal sounds of ​Unconditional​, the lead track is a journey into electronic music’s spiritual realm, as supple keys vibrate alongside a gently moving bassline. A sample from Lauryn Hill’s iconic speech acts as the breakdown, before the emotive bassline comes back in to pull deeply on our heartstrings. ​Kaleidoscope feat. MC Coppa ​completes the release. Bubbling with subtle hats and dreamy pads, the moving cut takes on a tougher edge with MC Coppa’s stirring monologue, whilst Siopis’ flagship club-ready sound features right the way through to form a track that sounds perfect at home, and on the dancefloor.

A prolific producer, ​Siopis ​has been carving out a career in electronic music for more than a decade. Previously known under his Silversurfer moniker, he is responsible for some of Crosstown Rebels’ earliest releases, producing 2004’s ​Parisis ​and collaborating with Kiki on the seminal ​Shake Off that same year. Fast-forward to more recent times where continued releases on Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels and M.A.N.D.Y’s Get Physical Music have helped define his emotional, dance-oriented sound, whilst frequent performances at clubbing institutions such as Hoppetosse and Golden Gate have established him as a regular on the Berlin circuit. With international sets under his belt at the likes of Miami’s Ocean’s Ten and Mexico’s Americana Club Social, the future continues to shine bright for Siopis.
