Following a slew of chart-topping releases on the likes of Filth on Acid, Perfekt Groove and 1605 (to name just a few) the prolific, in-demand Frenchman now turns his attention to a label slightly closer to home, as he makes his eagerly-anticipated EP debut on POPOF’s long-standing Parisian imprint, FORM Music. 

Hailed by critics as “one of techno’s most sought-after acts of the decade” (Cameron Holbrook, Beatportal), Space 92 now takes the next step in his already star-studded career as he joins head honcho POPOF for an incredible new three-part EP, titled Insomnia. 

Featuring a huge collaboration with POPOF and two inimitable Space 92 solo productions, the relentless, multi-faceted package is yet another impressive showcase in dark, cosmic, warehouse techno from Space 92, who returns to the forward-thinking Parisian label for its landmark 99th release, following his debut back in March remixing POPOF’s Skylighter.

Kick-starting the EP with the uncompromising title track Insomnia, Space 92 and POPOF deliver everything we could have hoped for and more from their inaugural collaboration, as the French compatriots unleash an intense peak-time cut, brimming with pounding kicks, industrial samples and expertly manipulated refrains throughout its thunderous, six-minute duration. 

Showing no signs of letting up as he takes over the reigns on solo duties, the middle order sees Space 92 combine deep, pulsating lower end, frenetic samples and a mesmerizing breakdown lead across Pluck as he explores a different, yet equally effective, timbre to the mammoth opening collab.

Last but by no means least, Space 92 offers up his second and final solo production on the player with Kerosene, building a ruthless assortment of undulating basslines and other-worldly synth riffs across the duration of the record. Maintaining the intensity for an impressive finale, intermittent voice drops and rolling sub-bass provide the backbone of the closer, as the formidable Frenchman fires on all cylinders to conclude a remarkable debut EP on POPOF’s FORM Music.

Drumcode has become a label synonymous with some of the most-cutting edge and forward-thinking techno over the last 20 years. Their artists include both emerging and established names, and one of those well recognised is Enrico Sangiuliano. Now announcing the very first concept album of his career.

The prolific Italian producer has been catapulted into the limelight after the runaway success of his past releases, and now Biomorph is born. 

A very special concept album designed to take the listener on a journey of evolution. A musical adaptation describing how biological and technological advances over numerous generations of time have all started from the same first step in our own biological journey.

Divided into 4 parts, Organisms opens with atmospheric tones, gradually blending complex textures and timbres to begin the evolutional process. The beginning of this section combines full sounding arrangements before stripping it all back to basics. From here it dissolves into the atmosphere. Organisms then progresses into a break-beat influenced, down tempo track using synths to add complexity to the straight, broken rhythms.

Galactic, futuristic elements are found in both tracks in Cosmic Forces. Upbeat, groovy, electronic synths resonate, before ‘Hidden T’ brings the tension to get things pumped up with stratospheric swirls and twirls to lay down one of the most mind meltingly deep drops.

Metamorphosis is mysterious, its opening beat is a deep and piercing tone that sends the listener into a sensory awareness of their surroundings before breaking into a fully charged, techno track, with Enrico’s trademark sounds and textures.

All evolution has an ending.

Two Probabilities shows the positive, starting out evocative and emotional, with a gentle harmony, gazing towards a ‘New Dawn’. On the other side of the spectrum lies the negative. This is influenced with a rhythm that articulates the beat of death, mathematical, cold and metallic in texture, it shows the unsustainability of its nature, with a hectic, anxious break beat influenced ending.

The digital version also features a bonus track; 'A Further Existence'.

With the third installment of our annual VA compilation, it's now become tradition here at Kraftek to close out our summer release schedule with an ode to all the incredibly talented new faces making names for themselves in the techno world. As usual a mostly Cosmic Techno selection of cuts from artists we have worked with before - along with some new additions to the kraftek family.  We proudly present Monolith Series Volume 3.

Rustek - A Flicker in the Dark

Drumcode starts 2020 with a sterling EP from genre hero Thomas Schumacher, his first on the label after a long association with Adam Beyer.

No ifs or buts, if you’re a techno fan, Thomas Schumacher holds a place in your heart. His 1997 classic ‘When I Rock’ still gets rinsed, he has a vast body of stellar work on his influential former label Spielzeug Schallplatten, including a release from Adam Beyer, and he continues to deliver pin-sharp productions via his Electric Ballroom imprint, including a scorching remix of ‘The House of House’, the 1994 classic from Cherry Moon Trax. The rework was first played by Beyer at Time Warp and has been a 2019 highlight.

He first contributed to Drumcode in 2018 with ‘The Unseen’, a stirring contribution to ‘A-Sides Vol.7’, setting up a maiden EP with ‘Crimson’. Beginning with the brilliant ‘Feist’, it’s a no-nonsense brain melter, as 303 arpeggios bloom and recede, creating a thrilling rhythmic intensity throughout. The title track ‘Crimson’ is crafted around two minutes of tension-building synths, before a beat finally appears and a rasping deep bassline commands the dancefloor. ‘Anker’ brings the rave with eagle-eye focus, unleashing a wall of fierce acid to round out the pack.
