A spark of ingenuity sees Petar Dundov light up Proton Music once again aided by iridescent remixes from BLANCAh and Imran Khan.

Regularly seeing his music featured on the likes of Meanwhile, 3rd Avenue and Clinique with a variety of original and remix production material, Imran Khan has shone brightly through 2018’s “Arrival” EP on Particles, while August 2019’s “Organik” and November’s “Sunsweat” EPs continued his story on Proton Music. 

Remixes for GMJ, Dmitry Molosh and Michael A for the latter, have continued to showcase a burgeoning talent as the UK star now adds his touch to Dundov's new Spark release. Characterized by a hefty rhythmic groove and seismic bassline, growling synth lines swim across the stereo spectrum as delayed percussive hits and ticking hats supply hypnotic energy. Evolving with elegance, pads and effects are introduced as pitched variations on the original’s central motifs bend and echo into the distance in intriguing fashion. The result is an innovative and dramatic interpretation with its roots firmly in Petar Dundov’s 'Spark'.

The boss is back home! And as you'd expect from Hernan, its jam packed full of goodness. This collection of gems are all new versions of tracks that were used and made for Hernan's Balance CD, all freshly updated for you lovely Sudbeat fans.

So lets get to it, and we kick of with James Teej superb rework of 'Into The Edge' from Hernan & Soundexile. James has recently been in the studio with Timo Mass to remix Paul McCartney. We'll let that sink in a minute while you realise how big a deal that is...! James remix has Big bass, emotive chords and tinkling melodies that combine beautifully here creating rather large rework of epic proportions, with a tad of melancholy thrown in for good measure.

Rising start Khen takes controls next, and with his recent works on Plattenbank, microCastle and Lost & Found, its no wonder this likeable chap is causing a bit of a fuss. This intense melodic gem subtly grabs your attention along its mesmerising voyage before its devastatingly cool key changes raise the temperature even hotter on this damn fine remix.

Hernan Cattaneo & Soundexile - Lunar (Simon Vuarambon Interpretation) is our next port of call. Simon is a Sudbeat favourite and makes a welcome return working his magic on Lunar. This rework is a sophisticated del journey that undulates and teases, with alight eastern vibe, this musical workout is a lesson in restraint in the studio.

And another Sudbeat favourite, Mike Griego remixes Hernan Cattaneo & Guy Mantzur - Imaginarium, and takes this in to a hypnotic territory, that locks you in to its magical spell, encapsulating your mind, while its tension builds and the track develops beautifully. A solid dance floor workout rounds of this package superbly.

Over the last number of years we've been privileged to have released many cuts from Nico Parisi. His steadfast dedication and attention to the detail is his sound is truly admirable. His latest slice - Children Of Africa is no exception as once again we are treated to a showcase of his talent in true progressive style. We've drafted in some top notch artists Michael Berklin, Surveyor Mode and A.R.E.S. who all delivered superb remixes for this one while staying true to the original.

The Original Mix settles into deep rhythmic progressive vibe right from the outset. Clanging synths break through the sub level bass creating a beautiful contrast in the sound. The bassline pumps out its solid low end groove for the duration keeping a grip on your soul. An intense feeling comes off the sound that both captivates and mystifies. On the break the bass fades out leaving a warping synth and some surreal recording of happy adults and children that adds a wonderful character to the sound. The bass fades back in and the beats take over once more and we find ourselves immersed in the groove to the end. A simply fantastic slice of deep progressive that is not to be missed.

Cyprus based Michael Berklin is doing the rounds on our labels, since his debut back in 2013 on Eyepatch with S.O.P.A. EP and then a stint over at Green Martian with Citizens Of The Earth Vol.1 in the Summer of 2015. Now he has made the leap to our flagship Bonzai Progressive with his fantastic remix which intros with a pumping kick drum and low end bass pulse combi. Subtle percussions begin to fade up and an air of intensity comes through. Gated vocals drift in and out of the sound as the layers build creating a big and powerful progressive groove. Laughing children and adults are scattered throughout the track keeping the character of the original intact. Distant synths play out a hypnotic melody but it's the intense basses that rule the groove here. Superb stuff and a must have track no doubt.

Italian DJ's and producers Matteo Tonioli and Marco Nascetti aka Surveyor Mode return to Bonzai Progressive with another tasty remix treat for our listening pleasure. The guys last appearance was back at the start of 2016 with their VV EP and we've no doubt that they'll rock floors once more with this one. The remix intros with a powerful kick drum that is laced with sub level bass creating huge punch that will deliver feet to the floors for sure. Stabbing synths are also at work and sit alongside looping vocals that carry the character of the original mix beautifully. Shuffling hat sequences and tight percussions provide a steady flowing rhythm as this dark progressive vibe builds. The break throws up a surreal synth sequence that mesmerizes before we slam right back into full on mode. Top notch stuff that will not disappoint.

Ariel Parra aka A.R.E.S steps up to the remix desk with a superb slice that will definitely get the floors moving. We first got a glimpse of this talented artist back in March 2015 on our Club Traxx Progressive House 14 compilation before he showed up with his debut on Progrez with Belisha Beacon in August 2015. We know we're in for one hell of a ride when this guy gets his progressive groove on so buckle up and enjoy. The remix sets off with a massive punchy kick drum that is joined by a monster bassline that dominates the sound brilliantly. Percussive elements and shuffling hats layer up to deliver a strong rhythm while the bass rules the low end. Deep droning synths create a haunting atmosphere that blends perfectly with the deeper groove that weaves throughout the sound. The track boasts a solid progressive vibe but it's laced with techno giving it a powerful edge that will appeal to many for sure.

DOPPEL - Melt (Thankyou City Remix)

Russian DJ and producer duo Tkachenko Vitaly and Vladimir Pavlov make up Concrete Waves. The guys make their Bonzai Progressive debut with the fantastic Northern Dawn which is backed up with two superb remixes from Manu Riga and Crocy. Concrete Waves was formed in May 2016 when the guys got together through their passion for music. They both enjoy listening to and creating Deep House, Tech House, Techno, Progressive, Hip-Hop and House. Their first release came out in June 2016 on Emotional Noise and other works, including compilation releases, soon followed. They are still working on finding their niche and perfecting their sound while working on their first album. A hugely talented up and coming project that is definitely one to watch.

The Original Mix treats us to a sublime deep progressive trip full of beautifully crafted layers. A solid pumping kick drum leads the way alongside bright hi hats and rhythmic percussions while a wonderfully lush bassline meanders through the track creating a deep groove. Tantalising synth arps weave intricate patterns drawing us deeper into the groove. On the break sweet melodies are revealed to the backdrop of rich pads that capture the imagination before we are thrust back into the main track for the duration. Excellent stuff that will not disappoint.

Manu Riga is back once again with another one of his top notch remixes and, once again we are blown away by this guy's superb talent. Belgian music maestro Adriaan Baussens is now a household name in the music production world, he has gained an army of followers over the years and is still reaching out to new recruits with every release. His talent lies in perfecting everything he touches which translates to those who simply appreciate "good music". Here he shoots straight to the floors with a beautifully constructed progressive slice. Nice and chunky kick drums lead the way while crispy hi hats and shuffling percussions create a solid rhythm. A hypnotic vox loiters in the background as a prominent arpeggio delivers the lead sound. Throbbing basses deliver that pure prog vibe that keeps you hooked throughout. Simply stunning stuff that is a definite must have for any jock.

Bonzai stalwart Crocy is up next with his remix and as you'd expect he delivers the goods once more. We've seen a multitude of outstanding work from this guy over the years and he always produces to the highest standard leaving the listener wanting more. His last outing was on remix duties for Manu Riga's Surrounded Remixed which came not long after his own Valve  back in July 2016. Always a pleasure to get this guy's work in the mail box and no doubt we'll see much more in the future. The remix opens with a solid punchy kick drum and shuffling hi hats combi. Raspy bass notes accompany the tight drums as spacey pads fade in. Intricate synth patterns make an appearance alongside a sublime hypnotic bassline that sits perfectly on the low end. An array of FX add wonderful textures while on the break we're treated to a simplistic and effective melody that keeps you locked in. Top notch stuff perfect for any late night set.

New from Guy J’s exceptional imprint, Lost & Found comes two original tracks from Dutch wonder, Budakid due for release on January 26th.

Signed to Einmusika, All Day I Dream and Last Night On Earth among others has helped the plucky young Berlin- based Dutchman to ascend the heights of the Progressive scene in a matter of years. Self taught and influenced by everyone from Todd Terje to Caribou means that Budakid isn’t weighed down by certain musical conformities and is free to create delicate, flowing melodica that has gained the interest of well-known media outlets such as Deep House Amsterdam, FAZE magazine and Thump.

Leading the way is ‘Memories’, an elegantly paced deep progressive number sparse in percussion but packed full of emotive nuance. The ebb and flow of twinkly arps and warming pads transport the listener far away from their troubles over a blissful six and a half minutes.

Flip over and ‘On An Empty Page’ elicits a different emotional response; no less visceral, no less powerful. Growing from meandering pads and cold sonics, it warms over the course of the track as new motifs add subtle layers of emotion.
