This song uses an electric guitar loop, acoustic rhythm guitar, electric solos, drums, shaker, and didgeridoo.  Vocals and all instruments by Dane.  Recorded 2014.

Mexican Bus

Originally written on acoustic guitar by Roland Orzabal, and citing Simon and Garfunkel's "Hello Darkness" as an influence, Tears for Fears  worked this song up as a techno dance number to fit in to the early eighties pop scene.  Gary Jules recognized the nostalgic tragedy in the song when he transposed it onto piano.  My intention is to dig out what i see as the deeper darkness:  A pain so deep it cannot be fully expressed in words;  a pain all the more poignant and intense because it is the pain of a child -- a chid who sees the inevitability of their own isolation and depression expressed in the vacant lives of the adults around them.

Mad World (Tears for Fears)

In this cover of PJ Harvey's "To Bring You My Love," I altered the lyric to magnify its blasphemous curses to the utmost, calling for inspiration on Eros as God of Destruction, while tipping some hats to Led Zep, Rolling Stones, and The Stooges.  I mirrored the original instrumentation to some degree, but intensified periodically.
