th a stunning sense of late 60’s eclectic musical composure, Sacramento band, Yo! and the Electric bring forth a nowaday feel of the creativity and empowerment of such an iconic era in music. Adding a jazz feel and whatever else feels right, has produced a sound that fits right into the progression of the indie music of today. Unpresidented technique and female empowerment through brilliantly composed songs, is easily the most apt description for Skyler and Julia. 
Hailing from a background in orchestra pits and a musical family dynamic, Skyler is a multi-talented musician that displays his talents and classic style in his playing style. While still bringing a new sound, his ability as such a multifaceted musician, makes the instrumental aspects of his songwriting limitless. To tye in the jazz element that the two present in their songwriting, frontwoman, Julia emerged from a heavily laden jazz background, with acquired skills not only as a songstress, but in trumpet. The duo linked up in 2016 through American River College’s Studio Jazz classes and combined their talents and love for Frank Zappa, for the world to enjoy.
Inspired by the likes of Frank Zappa, Syd Barrett, Bob Dylan and Brian Wilson, it is plain to see these two well trained musicians in their early twenties have found a fantastic sound to listeners. Skyler and Julia have played several smaller stages local to Sacramento with similar artists such as Pregnant and The Highcurbs. The duo has also played live radio sessions for stations such as KDVS, KDRT and The Torch along with a podcast here and there. It is safe to say the two are in their own element while playing any live show be that on a stage for a room full of people, or on the air for countless listeners.
