Berlin based DJ, producer, author and sound designer for Arturia & Native Instruments, Torsten has released a plethora of pristine productions on Platipus since 2019, when his debut solo single ‘Skuchayu’ / ‘Luna’ reached #6 in the Beatport Progressive Top 100 Chart.  
‘Nocturna’ is an aperitif to Torsten’s forthcoming debut concept album ‘Black Flower Blossom’ where aural Haute Couture meets electronic horticulture. It’s unequivocally meticulous and uncompromising production delivers a true feast for the senses. Fragments of glistening sound particles cascade over a menacing subsonic wall of bass and a meandering Moog lead, all culminating in a climacteric emblazon of light-drenched diurnal utopia.  
Fellow German sound designer Tommaso De Donatis is perhaps better known for being the maestro behind Watergate and one half of DJ Quicksilver. Tommaso dusts off his old silver Stratocaster and unleashes a serene Pink Floyd-esque guitar intro, paving the way for a barrage of dark bass and reverb-laden techno stabs, ultimately unveiling a light field of angelic ‘Age Of Love’ style vocal shards and a 303 line to die for.

‘Nocturna’ will come to light on the 24th March.

Following Torsten’s meticulously crafted debut album ‘Black Flower Blossom’, reworks of ‘Cyano’ and ‘Azureus’ take centre stage.
Athenian maestro Basil O’Glue has stuck to his guns for the past two decades conspiring with a multitude of esteemed entities including Solarstone, Gai Barone, Markus Schultz, Joof and Afterglow. His remix of ‘Cyano’ retains the beauty and vast spaciousness of the original, but cranks it up several notches for peak-time disruption.

London based DJ and producer Alfonso Muchacho takes the helm with his reworking of ‘Azureus’ which is altogether a more contemplative affair, with it’s requiem style choral motif, channelling altered states from within.

Veteran Berlin synth boffin and nautical naval gazer Torsten Fassbender takes the helm once again and charters a submersible solution. Cranking up the pressure to unfathomable depths, a tidal wave barrage of voluminous bass propels a vertical passage towards a deep backdrop of unworldly synchronised melodic synth sequences, unearthing beautifully exotic aquaflora and ear fauna, with what is quite possibly Torsten’s finest remix to date.
