The Methadone Actors formed in the spring of 1996 at Belmont University.   Several of the members were music business students and the bulk of their material was recorded in the studios at Belmont.

Silver-tongued Devil was one of the first songs the band wrote and recorded.  The band had some success on the national stage playing CMJ in the fall of '96 which led them to meet Dan Sutton of Cassiel records.  The band released Analog Cabin in 1997 on the Cambridge, MA label and disbanded a year later while working on their sophomore effort.

in 2012, Chicken Ranch Records released what the Actors had been working on when they disbanded along with some live versions of songs from analog cabin.  you can check that stuff out by following the link below.

i got up and rode the bike down to waffle house and scarfed down the grand slam.  i spent the next nine hours recording this song.  i used lots of room mics.... some verb on the vox and solo.  my bass playing is getting a tad bit bette.  but, i'd still rather someone else do it.

either way, this was the last minute recording to apply for the louisiana music prize.
