Continuing a strong summer season, Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint presents new interpretations of Nopi's Flatter'. Originally released in October of 2020 as part of the Ukrainian's well received Where to Go' EP, the creation rounded out the collection on the strength of Sarah Chilanti's dreamy vocals and a delicate piano top line. Now bringing new life to the much loved track, Sound Avenue invites Dmitry Molosh, about:river and GastoM to provide their own interpretations for the summer season.

The first interpretation is provided by Dmitry Molosh who returns to the label for his fifth appearance. The Belarus based producer sits firmly in progressive music's elite class of artists, showcasing his work via Cid Inc's Replug Records, Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, Nick Warren's Hope Recordings and Guy Mantzur's Plattenbank Records. As a mainstay in Beatport's sales charts, Dmitry now makes a welcome return to Sound Avenue with a powerful rendition of Flatter'. Beginning with warm beats and effervescent percussion, it's the pulsating nature of the groove which becomes instantly compelling. Driving, chunky and full of great character, it anchors what is a cosmic slice of progressive house. Emerging melodies marry luminous tones across the first act, before a break of clustered arps and colourful tonal tension spearheads an electric drop and epic finale.

'Continuing to nurture the label's rising talents, Deepwibe Undergroundwelcomes Alex Konstantinov back to the label for a new single. Hailing from Saint-Petersburg, the Russian artist first appeared on the Estonian imprint in May of last year with a remix of Monograph's 'Solar Wind'. The remainder of the year yielded three more well received remixes, before Alex eventually released his first Deepwibe Underground single 'Fjord' in October. Now fresh off a remix for label affiliate -102C, Alex returns to Deepwibe Underground with 'Loose Gravity', alongside a remix from Dmitry Molosh.'

Penner+Muder are best known for their releases on Moodmusic, where they have been churning out quality tunage for well over a decade. They have been dubbed the original odd couple of German Deep House because of their differences in terms of musical backgrounds as well as appearance. In this case opposites don’t only attract, they also make for a great sound as you will hear on this full-length album, which we are thrilled to be releasing on Suol.
‘The Long-Awaited Comeback’ is a journey through P+M’s sonic universe. We can’t go into detail on each of the 12 tracks in this little write-up, but just looking at some of the gems on this longplayer, there is deepness and lightness, melancholy and joy, softness and toughness, with both organic and electronic elements.
There is so much to discover here, whether it’s the solemn guitars and pianos on ’Gernika’, the opener, or the carefree interplay of Rhodes and vocals on ‘Heart And Sold’ as well as the funky bass lines dancing around classic drum machine grooves on ‘Feeling Down’.
At times, Penner+Muder delve into depths bordering on Deep Techno without ever losing the overall feeling of positivity. We are taken on epic rides by tracks like ‘69 Minutes’ with its floating delays, goosebump harmonies and massive bass frequencies, modulated to perfection.
There are nods to Chicago as well as Detroit, such as the grooves and distorted vocals of ‘24 Hour Ticket’, reminiscent of techno pioneers like Model 500.
This might just be what you’ve been waiting for.

Balance Selections 159: Bachir Salloum

Daniel Carlsson aka Dani-C is a Dj from Stockholm, Sweden. From an early age, he performed his own songs, which he wrote in school. From that time on, he knew that someday music and performance was going to be something he would do for the rest of his life. He had found his passion and calling.

In 1983, as a 12 year old, he took his first steps into Pipers, a big disco in Torremolinos, Spain. The atmosphere was euphoric. DJ was playing Kool & the Gang, "She's Fresh". The dance floor was moving/bouncing up and down. The coloured disco lights were striking him like thunderous lightening bolts from heaven! It was confirmed, Dani-C wanted to be a DJ.

Dani-C has a huge collection of vinyl, with covering many styles, but it was the electronic music from the end of the 80's that influenced him the most. 

For that reason, he started listening to Techno and Trance in the mid 90's. Artists like Oliver Lieb, Emmanuel Top, Etnica and X-Dream were almost Gods to him.

But as time went by... it was one artist and album, that infected him the most into his love of "Progressive House" today, and that was the one and only, UK Sasha... with his  Global Underground Ibiza...
