This is a song about my first and only trip to Europe.  It's happy and upbeat.  But perhaps that's not really what it's about.  Maybe it's about those moments that, when we look back, we say are the key moments that were the beginning of all that followed.  There are so many moments to choose from but we select a very few and give them meaning.  
At least that's what I had in mind when I wrote it.

Gerald Harris was born in Grenada MS. Now reside in Minneapolis Minnesota I have worked as a session musician for many different Christian artist throughout the Nashville Tennessee to Atlanta Georgia area for years. He is a accomplished guitarist and pianist, recorded his first R&B release at age 18 with Carrie Records in Nashville TN. Worked with such awesome musician like T.C. Campbell, which later played with the group Cameo. Gerald Harris is a BMI publisher/ singersongwriter, debut album Latter Rain, released March 13, 2012, with Tate Music Group, is still playing in places like the UK, on Cross Rhythms Radio. TV debut on the Great Day Live Morning Show, in Louisville KY.

   I truly play my instruments, write my own songs, really sing my songs and have an interest in other real singer/songwriters. I don't rely on AI computer software to create my music because I write it myself. It may not appeal to all but I can honestly say it is my own work.    Just a simple singer/song writer here that has a great passion for song writing and really singing my songs. Enjoy spending my time in my studio in the mountains of California where my guitar whales through the night with a string snapping now and then. Spend my summers at my home in the mountains and my winters in southern California. At one time I had a regular gig in San Francisco where the people were actually able to watch me perform my songs and purchase my work. 

   I now love to play at small gatherings. No, I don't need to bring my computer along for it to perform instead of me. Love to take my guitar to the beach and sit on the sand and sing to the ocean. I’m a guy from Kinna, born in 1973, and I’ve loved music for as long as I can remember. I picked up playing at 17 and spent the 90s in a local garage band, having a lot of fun making music with friends.

These days, I mostly play at home for my own enjoyment. I listen to all kinds of music, as long as it speaks to me and has some feeling behind it. Music has always been a big part of my life, and it’s something I’ll never let go of.

Most of my songs start in quiet places—back staircases, crowded buses, the edge of someone else’s conversation. I’m from the Midwest. Working-class roots, hand-me-down guitars, and a voice that took me years to trust.

I write about things we feel before we can say them.
First love, last words, parties we didn’t belong at.
The people who left, and the ones who stayed too long.

I’m not chasing perfect. Or viral. I care about craft, emotion, and songs that hit where you least expect.

I’m still figuring it out. But these songs? They’re the truest thing I’ve got.

I write songs.  I'm not a performer any more than I need to be to have my songs heard once in a while. I hope that better musicians than I encounter my songs and decide to play them.  I just write songs to have them exist in the world. If the world likes them then the world can do with them what it will.  All these recordings are demos.  I've tried to make them as musically interesting as I can but they are all awaiting the skilled hand of someone who knows how to make songs shine.
