For me, Rabbit on the Rooftop is more than just a song; it’s a chapter of life, an invitation to lift your gaze from routine and venture beyond imposed limits. This song is inspired by all the dreams and risks I’ve taken in life, by the freedom I feel when I’m in Italy, or when I lose myself in the chords of a jazz concert.

I’ve learned that life isn’t just about achieving success or stability; it’s about those moments when you listen to your heart and follow those wild impulses. The rabbit in the story is a part of me – that brave part that keeps dreaming and trying, even when it knows it might not reach the desired destination. This song is for everyone who still has a dream to chase, even if life’s paths have taken them elsewhere.

The jazz and folk in this song come from my love for freedom and spontaneity, the same things that draw me to live music and Italian culture every time. I’ve been playing piano since I was little, and I love to write down my thoughts, and, in a way, Rabbit on the Rooftop gathers everything I’ve lived: the unfulfilled love for Alessandro, the nights in Italy, and the smiles of the customers in my restaurant.

In the end, this song is an invitation: Hop little rabbit, don’t you ever stop. Get up and run after your dreams, even if everyone else tells you you’re crazy. Every step is a chapter in your story. I hope that, through this song, I can remind you that life is more than just a road... it’s an adventure.

One night, stranded in LA after a gig with a dead phone and no bus in sight, a stranger offered me a ride. Though hesitant, I trusted my intuition and accepted. They turned out to be kind, sharing life advice that stayed with me. 
The song, inspired by that experience, explores how, even in a world where fear and caution are necessary, we still yearn for connection and trust. It’s a reflection on the beauty of unexpected human bonds, vulnerability, and hope — a message that feels more urgent than ever.
 
The song was co-produced with the late Jesse Colin Young (of the 60s hit Get Together), and was recorded live in the studio with legends Laurence Juber (Grammy-winning guitarist for Paul McCartney's Wings), Kenny Aronoff (John Mellencamp), and Jorgen Carlsson (Gov't Mule).

This is a story of a man who's partner suddenly leaves him.  It feels, to him, that it came out of nowhere - nothing appeared to be wrong.  It's a shock and mystifying, at least at first.  I've known a few of these men.  Mostly they come to understand what happened after a while.

I write songs.  I'm not a performer any more than I need to be to have my songs heard once in a while. I hope that better musicians than I encounter my songs and decide to play them.  I just write songs to have them exist in the world. If the world likes them then the world can do with them what it will.  All these recordings are demos.  I've tried to make them as musically interesting as I can but they are all awaiting the skilled hand of someone who knows how to make songs shine.
