Widely praised for their timeless, gritty and genre-smashing approach to song craft, Venice-based The Great Escape is a trio comprised of Kristian Nord (drums, bass, production), Malte Hagemeister (guitars, production) – both originally from Hamburg, Germany –, and Cambridge-born singer Ingrid Andersson.
Dropping in January 2017, sophomore full-length “Universe In Bloom” takes the raw energy and stomping confidence of their self-titled predecessor to the next level with massive hooks and catchy tunes beyond genre that could have been recorded at any point in the last 50 years. Their eponymous, selfproduced
debut album was released in 2014 and received much critical acclaim; Popdose called it “the best modern post-sunshine-pop record in years.”
Heavy-hitting “I Can’t Resist,” centerpiece and lead single of the new full-length, perfectly showcases the raw energy and stomping confidence that lies at the core of these gems: dirty vintage hooks caught on the fly, minimalist riffs shot from the hip and topped off with a truly stunning female voice.
Their first video breaks the mold and sees them pay tribute to various unsung heroes that inspired them along the way: an older generation of folks who followed their hearts and stuck to their passions. Based on a series of in-depth interviews, the epic video follows a number of true individuals that are well advanced in years - from early 70s up to 96 years old - but haven't lost the ardor and passion for whatever they chose to dedicate their lives to: Martial arts, dancing, surfing, traveling. Alles begann im Alter von 11 Jahren, als er den Rhythmus in sich spürte. Inspiriert von der Technik und der Vielseitigkeit der Musik sowie der Welt der DJs, setzte er sich ein klares Ziel: Musik auflegen! Schritt für Schritt entwickelte er das Gespür und die nötige Fingerfertigkeit für diese damals noch große Herausforderung. Schon bald kamen die ersten eigenen Geräte, und er erhielt die Gelegenheit, sein Können unter Beweis zu stellen.

Bereits mit 15 Jahren legte er das erste Mal vor Publikum auf. Es dauerte nicht lange, bis er immer mehr Auftritte bekam und sich sein Name in der Szene rasch verbreitete. Heute ist er längst kein Unbekannter mehr. Mit seinen Auftritten in Discotheken begeistert er das Publikum, das seinen extravaganten Musikstil, der sich im Bereich Tech/Deep/House bewegt, liebt.
