Musik mit dem Rechner machen, hat meist recht wenig mit Bewegung zu tun. Da wird vielleicht mal die Maus geschoben und im gröbsten Notfall der Kaffee aufgefüllt. Der widersprüchliche Leidensweg der meisten elektronischen Musiker. Nicht so bei 742D. Wie wohl alle KRITZEL-Künstler stellt auch er eine Ausnahme in dem dar, was er tut. Man kann sich bildlich vorstellen wie sich Tatendrang und geballte Energie in Arrangement und Klangauswahl konzentrieren und der Geruch von Lötfett, verbrannten ICs und Spannung im Raum stehen. Die von 742D gebauten Klangerzeuger sehen nicht nur nach Krieg aus, sondern bringen den akustischen Großangriff auf die Tanzfläche. Roh und ungeschliffen rutschen Sägezahn- Stahlplatten auf den Hörer zu, bis die Kollateralschäden unbeteiligter Dritter nicht mehr zu zählen sind. Doch im Kern pulsiert unverkennbar die nicht zu leugnende Herkunft der Ibiza Clubszene. Und genau diese im ersten Moment widersprüchlich erscheinende Tatsache zeichnet deutlich das Spannungsfeld, das 742D umgibt.




Making computermusic is usually not accompanied by a lot of physical movement. Merely the mouse is being pushed or the coffee needs to be refilled in urgent cases of emergency. That defines the most producer‘s contradictive way of working. But not when it comes to 742D. Just like every other KRITZEL-Artists, he is an exeptional character. You can easily imagine how enthusiasm and vigor are focused on arrangement and soundselection. How the distinct smell of solder paste, burnt ICs and electricity is filling the room. The Synthesizers built by 742D are not only looking like war, but launching audible strikes above the dancefloor. Raw sawtooth-metalplates are moving towards the audience like landslides, until counting colateral damages becomes futile. But the core remains undoubtedly the origin of the Ibiza clubscene. And exactly this controversal state, represents the field of tension surrounding 742D.
