Last year, Vic Spencer had a campaign to get people ready for The Rapping Bastard called Red Button Series. Looks like he's geared to prepare that campaign again with brand new material.

Vic Spencer was listening to St. Louis native and the forever talented soul sensation Coultrain over Vic's good friend Black Spade production again and was inspired to create 24k Visuals pt. 2 over some simple but crazy production from DC. 

Picking up from where he left off from the head nodding and effective 24k Visuals, Spencer is found spitting the craziest bars known to man calling men WCW's, being safe wearing V chenille patches to cover his heart and sending lives to the abyss through UPS shipping services. That's a lot to discuss in one record but like always, Vic Spencer manages to make it all flow perfectly.

Vic Spencer was suppose to drop VicTree, a EP with MC Tree this month but it was push back to promote his 5th solo album entitled The Cost of Victory, which is slated to drop 12/15/14 on rappingbastard.com and iTunes. Just like Red Button Series last year, Vic plans to drop one or two records per week until Cost of Victory drops. The tsunami has arrived.

24k Visuals pt. 2

Fresh off HipHopDX's 10 Chicago Rappers You Should Watch For list, Vic Spencer is back and he is considering himself to be The Investment. The record is produced by the St. Louis Legend, Black Spade, taken away from his brother Tef Poe's 2009 mixtape entitled The Redeemer. Seems like Vic has been heavily inspired by the St. Louis music scene as this is his 3rd record that he has dropped in a row where an artist was sampled from the Show Me State.

"Tef Poe's version always touched my soul" Spencer says respectfully. "With all that craziness that is happening down in Ferguson, it's just a dope way to express how their city's music culture is still making an impact on others such as myself."

Although this record is not about the city's recent tragedies. This record is about how Vic is overlooked by his own city. And as Chicago continues to be unbalanced musically, Vic adds an extra ton to compete with the nation on The Investment. Take a listen above.

Something about Vic Spencer's music makes you want to punch someone in the mouth. Seems like he's speaking to all of us because we know someone like this. He's bold enough to express it on Red Eye.

"I named it Red Eye because I had looked at my face in the Red Eye (a Chicago-based newspaper, free to the public) paper with Chance the Rapper and I was wasn't dead. I used to think being in the newspaper, if you are black, you in there because you're dead or something bad happened where my mugshot is the headline" Spencer says. "I was in the paper because I was heading to SXSW to do a show with King Louie & Chance and that year we were all over the headlines. But, I'm a hardcore rapper, you feel me?"

Yes, Vic Spencer. We do feel you. Pause. 

Red Eye is for the Red Button Series: Part 2 and serves as an appetizer for what's in store for Spencer in 2015. He's scheduled to drop an album produced entirely with Doc da Mindbenda called Modern Masters, which is curated/presented by the well-known artist Will Prince. I personally can't wait for that. Nasty shit, but funny and informative. Vic Spencer let loose another hot one off the grill entitled Pork Chops today for the Red Button Series. Produced by Stay Humble ENT rapper Tony Stanza, this is Vic on speaking to the gutter side of Chicago hip-hop

"I get criticized for rapping", Vic says. "It's a big ass gap between bullshit records and Vic Spencer records. I'm coming for that gap and I don't feel like I need to do radio or sellout to fill that gap! I feel like if I wasn't liked as a MC, we would hear more jokes about my raps than anything because I confidently boast about my music. But nobody says shit. It's the vision of hearing someone say 'I don't eat pork' but lowkey they smacking on some barbecue cracklings. People don't rock with the music publicly but soon when they see me in the street ask me 'how is your music going?' It's crazy."

So is this Pork Chop record.
