Superlage é global beat, respira música dos subúrbios e transpira latinidade. Junta músicos do Amazonas, Pará e Pernambuco, num caldo bem temperado de sons tropicais, misturado à bases eletrônicas preparadas com sabor bem brasileiro. Não é difícil identificar no som da banda o desejo de um baile onde pernas, braços, ventres, cinturas e sorrisos se confundam alegremente na pista de dança ou na rua, colorida e solar como os carnavais.

Nascida em Olinda, Pernambuco, Superlage é uma dupla que compõe, arranja, toca, mixa e produz canções baseadas na cumbia, miscigenada com reggae dancehall, baião e carimbó. 

Formada pelo beatmaker DJ Incidental, pernambucano da gema, neto de mestre de brinquedo popular, uma biblioteca humana de cumbias de todos os estilos possíveis e Raimundo Alfaia, amazonense, baixista, cantor e produtor. 

Para interpretar este primeiro leque de canções produzidas pela dupla, foi convidada Jana Figarella, cantora paraense com o sotaque do carimbó e da cultura ribeirinha amazônica, o quere definiu e alargou a geografia emocional das canções, já tão miscigenadas nos ritmos latinos e nordestinos presentes nos beats eletrônicos da dupla.

Superlage mostra a cultura de festa de um Brasil afro-latino, integrado a um sentimento de revalorização da cumbia com modernizantes timbres eletrônicos, que inspiram jovens músicos e platéias por todo o mundo.

As canções têm sua poesia inspirada em cordéis, passagens urbanas de praias e coqueiros, o vento nos cabelos, estouro de fogos, carnavais....Um convite ao mergulho num mar sonoro de alegria e cores vibrantes, produzidas cuidadosamente num ambiente de doce balanço tropical.

Superlage is Global Beat, breathing in urban music and sweating out Latinidade. It brings together musicians from the Brazilian states of Pernambuco, Amazonas and Pará to create a musical stew simmered in tropical sounds, mixed in a base of electronic music, and with a flavor that is uniquely Brazilian. Within the sound of the band, it’s not difficult to indentify the desire to throw an all-night dance party where legs, arms, bellies and hips get joyfully twisted together on the dance floor, or in the street, all pure color and full of light like Brazilian Carnaval itself.
 
Born in Olinda, Pernambuco, Superlage is made up a duo who compose, arrange, play, mix and produce songs based in Cumbia, mixed with Dancehall Reggae, Baião e Carimbó
 
The band is made up of the beatmaker DJ Incidental, a Pernambucan gem, grandson of a mestre of popular dance and a veritable human library of all possible styles of Cumbia, and Raimundo Alfaia, originally from Amazonas, bassist, singer and poducer.
 
To interpret this first collection of songs produced by the pair, Jana Figarella was invited. A singer from Pará with a flair for Carimbó and the riverside culture of the Amazon, the voice of Figarella redefines and amplifies the emotional geography of the songs, already thoroughly miscegnated by the Latin and Northeastern rhythms present within the beats of Incidental and Alfaia.
 
Superlage shows off the party culture of an Afro-Latin Brazil, integrating it to the revalorization of Cumbia with modern electronic sounds, rhythms that have inspired young musicians and crowds all over the world.
 
The songs have their poetry inspired by the cordel literature of Northeastern Brazil, urban journeys to the beach, andcoconuts, It’s the feeling of ocean wind in your hair, glowing bonfires, Carnavals... an invitation to dive into a sea of sounds, full of joy and vibrant colors, all carefully produced in the rich ambiance of sweet tropical swing.

Brazilian guitar player that knows how to sing and write songs.  

Ipecac Recordings is the brainchild of Greg Werckman (former label manager for the legendary punk label, Alternative Tentacles, employee for Mercury Records for a record 15 minutes, currently operating Pick-A-Winner Management) and Mike Patton (former frontman for Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, currently of Fantômas, Tomahawk, Peeping Tom).

Werckman and Patton had been scheming for years (in between video games) about starting their very own label, waiting for just the right moment to unleash their master plan. Ipecac Recordings is not about to make music biz history and execute a revolution (although one is surely needed) or bore you by waxing poetic about their original musical philosophies. But if we have to adhere to a "mission statement," how about the notion of being an honest, artist friendly label run on a shoe string with no outrageous promotional or production costs. This label is a home to Mike Patton's eclectic musical collaborations as well as a place where bands we admire have the freedom to release music they might not be able to, or want to, release on other labels.
