This episode features the European tale from Grimm's called "Faithful Johan." Mythsinger's mission is to "Restore the Wisdom of Myth to Culture and Community." This is for the Hans Zimmer Contest. I used the strings, a bit of the PBH, and a few bars of the brass stems. Everything else was done on an ipad air in Auria. I did the drums an keys in Garageband. I used Drumagog to replace most of the drums. The vocal was recorded with the apogee mic, guitar was recorded with the apogee jam via jamup/BIAS. The bass was played in iFretless via Audiobus. As I imagined this Zimmer's theme comes at the beginning of the film; mine is the pop rock ballad at the end. Here's the lyrics to the first verse and chorus. I've been working on this since Drumperfect came out and it's not done yet but I want to share now cause I'm gonna take a break from it. The song consists of 14 patterns in DP. I used the export separate tracks to get it into Auria and have Drumagog replacing the kik, snare, toms, and side stick. The bass is iFretless and the e-piano is ChordPolyPad. Recorded ac gtr and vocal with Apogee Mic. Oh and this arrangement started when Pete Seeger passed away. Please let me know what you think.

Half a song for a contest using a specific 4 chord progression. All on iPad. I used GarageBand to create the drums, keyboard, and Bass. Then exported individual tracks into Auria. Replaced the drums using Drumagog. Recorded electric guitar via Apogee Jam with THM Overloud. Vocal and harmonica recorded with Apogee Mic.

The Tragic Sense of Life

Daniel Duane Deardorff or 3D is a life long songwriter and multi instrumentalist. In the early years of his recording career (then called Danny) he worked with the best musicians in Los Angeles, including Louie Shelton, Jeff Pocaro, and David Hungate. Deardorff later worked in Seattle as a producer and arranger. From there he went on to author a book “The Other Within: the Genius of Deformity in Myth, Culture, & Psyche” and spent another decade as a storyteller and mythologist.  On 9/19/19, when he left this world, he left a legacy of published and yet to be released music and myth-telling recordings, teachings, writings and artwork including Polio: A Blues Album and two more albums’ worth of recorded new songs.
