I had the pleasure to jam over to melondruide’s hypnotic track

As a warm, earthy contrast to the original icy synths I added some hand percussion 
I went for my Hand pan (Hang) cause it’ sin C minor as the original track, and just added some phrases on a little Indian Talking Drum, but this time I think there’s a nice bed for a 3rd contributor.
I added some rhythmic delay here and there (talking drum and original track)

An old, abandoned studio jam, tweaked today (feb 2nd 2022) mixed and  shared for the first time for this haiku challenge.

I started by listening to last weeks tunes whilst driving to the local store, I started singing along with Birds Sing In The Trees, by the time I got behind a microphone later that night, the exact words had disappeared, yet the bones of the melody could be recalled, I did 5 layers of vocals, 1st take for each, during the recording I was thinking of an image seen that day of men hunting grouse with big guns and how birds are not safe in this human world. A little bit of editing and some mixing mainly with various console channel emulations with a bit of extra saturation, then finding the best balance with the bed track.

Even More Reflections (disquiet0527)

This week's Disquiet Junto was to make a drone using only your voice. 

This is just a snippet of me talking in a work context, a meeting recording. I thought using spoken-word from the least musical context was a good laugh - something about droning on in meetings, the New Zillund accent, my accent specifically, something...

Then all I did was send the recording into a convolution reverb, using a 45 second impulse response from a disused radar dome in Germany. Thank you Antony for the recording!

I chopped the front 50 seconds off the recording, so it starts when the convolution is already going nuts and that's it. I was pleasantly surprised by the many layers from this single effect.

Jet Jaguar - Online Meeting In a Radar Dome [disquiet0548]

This track is improvised with the aim to disobey or block out the rules of staying in time and following the key. The neurons were allowed to send any command to play a note and to disregard all the criteria trained so well.
All instruments were played one after the other, only knowing when but not which note was played by the instruments already recorded.

Hopefully listening to the track is rewarding, although this track is not an easy one.

Disquiet Junto Project 0552: The Radio in My Life
The Assignment: Record music in response to a John Cage and Morton Feldman conversation.

This was fun. I thought about intrusions. Mostly it's the loud street in front of my window and kids running in the flat above mine and people shouting at Siri, Alexa and OKgoogle in the backyard.

I checked my field recordings and there it was: the f… church bells. A bad ambient track, repeated relentlessly every sunday, never changing, a transcendent single-track playlist … 

I threw the field recoding of the bells into deCoda, and it calculated Aminor and 84bpm. I started a track from scratch with these parameters and improvised some beats and pads. The idea was to have a peaceful ambient track … that could be disturbed by acoustic intrusion of the church bells. 

The track seemed finished when I read the algorithm again and listened to the Cage-Feldman-Talk. I liked the pure oddity of the first minutes, so I added some parts of the beginning, accepting that this will draw focus to the conversation, so I didn't care that you don't understand much. 

Next sunday at seven, they will play my track …

In some words:
Composer, arranger, producer, multi-instrumentalist. Born in Argentina,
I studied music in Buenos Aires, New York, Boston, Los Angeles and Paris.

For 20 years, I developed an important career as a session and backing musician in Argentina and Europe, playing, among other instruments, the bass, touring and recording with many jazz, rock, fusion, world, Latin and tango bands.

At the same time, I worked as an arranger, producer and musical director with many projects and artists in the USA, Argentina and Europe.

From 1992 to 1997, I performed my compositions live with my own band in Buenos Aires and began a solo recording career with the worldwide release of my first album "The Years Alone" on the North American label Green Linnet/Xenophile. On this album I arranged and performed 11 of my songs written between 1986 and 1993. I played most of the instruments, but included guest appearances by some great South American players.

My recording career continued with "Segundo Ciclo" (1997), released worldwide by Timeless Records, and 12 more albums released between 2000 and 2016.

Currently, I work as an on-demand film/TV composer while continuing to play live and produce.
