your delay trick is lovely, daniel - I'm going to try it myself

It is great how all the delays add up, but the sound isn't messed up at all. You didn't exaggerate, it is a wonderful track!

I hink the delays create quite an organic beautiful gauze aroung the melody and instrumentation.

very evocative, would make a great opening track for a john sayles movie!

Hi, "rhythmic delays" is my technique for this junto.
This is something I use a lot, this is not the most abusive example of it, but it's really important for this track, and peculiar cause it's all acoustic instruments (I do use this a lot on electric guitars) 

I recorded this one last year on an "hotel room" setup, I had my laptop, a great microphone and a very good audio interface, a small requinto, an harmonica, some hand percussion  and a soprano ukulele.
Back home I decided to finish a second track that I did release earlier this year but this one stayed on the vault, unused, unfinished.
 
The use of my technique of rhythmic delays is more prominent as the track advances, I set up a couple of delay lines (mostly straight 1/8th notes, a 1/4th note echo and a syncopated dotted 1/8th notes one. I add more delay as the track progresses and gradually augment the feedback. It's quite simple and effective.
And it gives a weird "robotic" feel to a pure acoustic performance.

In some words:
Composer, arranger, producer, multi-instrumentalist. Born in Argentina,
I studied music in Buenos Aires, New York, Boston, Los Angeles and Paris.

For 20 years, I developed an important career as a session and backing musician in Argentina and Europe, playing, among other instruments, the bass, touring and recording with many jazz, rock, fusion, world, Latin and tango bands.

At the same time, I worked as an arranger, producer and musical director with many projects and artists in the USA, Argentina and Europe.

From 1992 to 1997, I performed my compositions live with my own band in Buenos Aires and began a solo recording career with the worldwide release of my first album "The Years Alone" on the North American label Green Linnet/Xenophile. On this album I arranged and performed 11 of my songs written between 1986 and 1993. I played most of the instruments, but included guest appearances by some great South American players.

My recording career continued with "Segundo Ciclo" (1997), released worldwide by Timeless Records, and 12 more albums released between 2000 and 2016.

Currently, I work as an on-demand film/TV composer while continuing to play live and produce.
