It's been a weird year. I recorded a mix when it was at its weirdest. Predominantly recorded over 65 days of solitude during confinement last March, this mix was initially envisaged as a reflection on reaching 10 years of https://soundcloud.com/moodroomcollective, but quickly spun out to be something equally as introspective as it was a retrospective. Those days were touch and go, and recording this fluctuated between providing a focus point that felt like a lifeline and pushing me to probe the edges of my sanity. The mix takes its name from the first thirty minutes which I borrowed from a soliloquy I played to my sole supporter in the early hours of my opening set at Village Underground in 2019 and carries onwards to distill the longing and tension I was feeling, and I think many people felt at the time. Nevertheless, it does cobble together a fair few of the highs and finer points of the sets I’ve played over the last few years and left a lot of room for me to move under the moodroom lights in my living room while thinking over all the smiles, friends made, and support we’ve had over the last decade. I am forever grateful. 

This comes long overdue as it’s been two years since I’ve recorded a mix, but  seeing how life is going it may well be two years until I record my next. Until then, let this be my opus. 

Here’s to seeing each other on a dance floor again soon.
