With all the bad press that circulates the globe about Arabs and the Islam Nation, here's someone that can change perspectives. Born on June 4th, Abdul "Bo Durty Sout" Samman, was the youngest out of 4 children raised in a strict syrian home. Always being a husky kid, he was given the name "JUMBO" at a young age. Jumbo was exposed to performing in front of people at family gatherings and performing in talent shows. A movie named "Juice" starring Tupac Shakur and Omar Opps inspired him to take music to the next level as a DJ. In the blink of an eye, "Jumbo" mixtapes circulated neighborhoods in South Florida, also spinning at house parties, and local night clubs. He decided that he could do more than just cut and blend on the 1's and 2's and began writing. A few years later, "Jumbo" put out a few demos and the official self-titled mixtape hosted by Dj Affect. After 9-11, Jumbo was encouraged to keep his Arab roots a secret, thinking he would be judged or looked down upon. "Jumbo" wrote a verse, and stated in a line "I'm Bo from the Durty Sout" which he took "Bo" to claim "Jumbo" and "Durty Sout" to represent the "Dirty South" and sure enough knew, that was name he would carry on.
