Hundreds of drones scrambled beneath a swirling sky as they raced to finish the construction of their monolithic aluminum kin, a masterstroke of technological progress that aimed its apex directly at the eye of the storm above. For years the coming of this cataclysmic event had been known, and from that day the building of the metallic superstructure had begun, but the storm had come a day early and now threatened all of the progress that had been made. In a few short hours, the incalculable ferocity of the gale was set to be supercharged by a coinciding solar flare that would send the forces that churned within it into overdrive, creating a storm that could swallow the world.

Standing below in defiance to this outcome was the drones’ creation, a mass array of rocketry set to bear forth the greatest payload ever delivered from their world. Atop the ship’s stacks of thrusters was a massive satellite, dangerous in its own right for its ability to create conditions much like those that loomed above. Yet beyond the reaches of the planet’s atmosphere, this satellite would be the world’s single attempt to prevent their own destruction, a cosmic parry with only an hour-long window of effect. By emitting a vast amount of oppositely charged particles in the face of the oncoming flare, the satellite would rebuff the energy that threatened to amplify the already destructive storm to apocalyptic proportions. As the surface of the sun roiled with fusion wrought energy, the rocket shot up into the sky, and all on the planet bated their breath in the uncertainty of what would come next.

Following his appearance on EATBRAIN’s Divergence III compilation CHASER now makes his full debut on the label with BLASTPIT, an EP well-named upon the strength of the sonic power that is contained within. The five tracks of the EP feature explosive basslines combined with piercing percussion and an array of samples & synths that all share CHASER’s high-tech sound and promise to supercharge the fervor of the EATBRAIN horde.

Another monster release from John B’s newly revitalised Beta Recordings label - this time from rising star GEMINI. 

He’s been making serious waves with his dubstep productions, is already a youtube superstar and has quickly been snapped up by prestigious management company three six zero, remixing the likes of Diddy, Deadmau5, Jamiroquai, Kelis, Hadouken, Fenech Soler & Willow Smith. Gemini is now showing off his diverse productions skills & breaking new ground within the realms of Drum & Bass.

Two absolute beasts here on this exciting double A side - both leaning towards a more ‘Trance & Bass’ sound, but with a deep, refined edge, and uncompromising dancefloor power.

Without you is a beautiful, refreshing, trancey DnB roller. Deadmau5 vibes and an almost 4/4 break keep things pushing on with a progressive synth chord pattern and subtle, building pads. Perfect transition track, great in the mix - but with a breakdown that really makes the crowd take notice & progressively builds them up again to a mighty crescendo.

Destiny is more high energy & fits in perfectly as the highlight of any peak-time DnB set. Quality, crisp beats lead you in, then a breakdown to almost silence as the killer electro-synth hook comes out of nowhere, building and building until the final release & club smashing main drop kicks in. Reliably one of the biggest tracks of any set at the moment, and surely destined for great things once released into the wild...

A name that needs no introduction, label staple BMotion is back in a big way in 2022. “Airtime” is his first single since his release with FlowAnastasia on UKF’s Pilot imprint, “Give You Up” in August, and marks the second release on Viper since his hiatus ending with “Alive” feat. Jon Lilygreen in late 2020. 

“Airtime” is an enticing dancefloor number that is infectious right from the start. Full of mystery and intrigue, BMotion masterfully crafts an introduction that will hook listeners from the very first note, layering in an eclectic range of sounds that all come together for one seriously mesmerizing package leading up to the drop.  

Glimmering melodies pair with mystifying vocals, underlined with murky basslines and charming pads for a result that is nothing short of enchanting. Signature BMotion through and through, “Airtime” has that special fantastical quality that makes it truly memorable, telling a story and leaving a lasting imprint on the listener.  

The start of a big year for Viper, BMotion’s “Airtime” is a strong indicator of the quality in store from the label in 2022 – so keep an eye out for more like this, only on Viper.
