with a lot of "helpless" in between
I wish I could say
some things don’t decay
how I wish I could tell you
our efforts have value
but judging from everything that I’ve seen
the brave & depraved
the selfish & selfless
it’s best if we feel all festive & glad
given we range between
helpless & mad
yeah we'd better be
incredibly un-upset and un-sad
given the difference 
‘tween helpless & dead

my child, my sweet
my yellow-brown flower
when the woods gonna burn
not a winter can stop it
we’ve all got this 
suboptimal urge to control
but the what where when how
& why are not in our power
yeah, shut down the garden

the first and last feeling is "helpless"
then a lot of helplessness in between
I wish I could tell you
oh, one more rebellion
for wisdom & might
to make things alright
but lying to you 
will not change the theme

my love, my cold blue 
spring in the desert
when the sky’s gonna turn
not a beauty can tempt it
we’ve all got this contemptible 
urge to decide
and the stab wounds & scars
are not even a lesson—
we just muck about in our gardens

our first and last feeling is "helpless"
and it doesn’t change much in between
as you spin in your circle of fairness
remember to hum with the theme
how lucky regardless
of getting punched down
trees in the forest
enjoying their sound
so what does it matter how
tiny my reach?
as long as I’m honest
you’ll pardon my speech
the aimless & friendless
the babbling saved
the bumbling faithless
the child who’s behaved
we rhyme the same reason
we write the same song—
ain’t none of us has to be

Daniel Lars: Multi-Instrumentalist, vocalist, songwriter, producer. Born, initially grew up in the heart of San Francisco. Music deeply rooted...young age of four. Psychedelic music scene was electrifying. Nevertheless, Daniel Lars was deeply influenced from extensive variety of music. Rock, Hard Rock, Psychedelic, Glam Rock, R&B, Funk, Soul, Motown, late '60s pop music, Progressive Rock, Gothic, Eastern music, Blues, Disco, Bossa nova, Folk, Jazz Fusion, Jazz, Classical, World Music, Techno, Psychedelic Trance, Hip-hop. 

Daniel Lars: "My father would play stacks of vinyl from extensive record collection. Especially, during weekends. Late, through the night. Recall in record collection...early Beatles, Big Band, classical, jazz, Elvis, Frank Sinatra, MC5, Dusty Springfield, Motown. Various country artists in record collection. While my oldest brothers were playing '60s rock, Southern Rock, English psychedelic bands, from vinyl collection. During late '60s psychedelic era, early '70s." 

Young age of twenty, Daniel decided to seriously pursue music career. First band, younger brother on bass. Jammed with various musicians, friends, bands. San Francisco Bay Area, during the eighties. Formed power trio, "Third Eye." Performed various popular clubs in San Francisco. Relocated in the East Bay Area. Small town in Pleasanton. Shortly, after Third Eye disbanded. Joined popular local East Bay Area hard rock band, Most Wanted. Final gig, major benefit concert. Billed with several other popular Bay Area local bands. Such as Black Tiger (former members of Y&T). To support "October 17th, 1989 Loma Prieta" earthquake victims. During late '90s, hired as a professional session guitarist for two years. Major recording studio in Oakland, CA. Where he learned extensive skills in studio production. Left California in 2008. Always creating gems in musical moments of time. His two lovely rescue cats Syd & Ziggy, daily magical hikes in the forest...are current "musical" inspirations. Cheers.
