In the world of Pheel Balliana, both the man and the music are synonymous. He captures the flavours of the tropics and the rhythms of a buccaneer, the smoky atmosphere of a clandestine meeting and a dark longing for beauty. He creates a mood in which his sophisticated version of #trash meets seedy-late night romance, in a room always free from guilt or judgment.

He is the joker in the pack of cards, the sly trickster with an ace up his sleeve.

Pheel Balliana’s current alter-ego of a singing clown emerges from a long line in his professional work, having lived first in Bari in southern Italy, then Rome, Paris, Rio and Natal in Brazil, where he is now primarily based. “My clown can cry glycerine tears like Pierrot, or he can be a figure of fun and slapstick humour. He can also be scary and nightmarish. But as a clown, I am always sure to wear my invisible red nose.”
 
Since then, Pheel’s career has been multi-faceted. He has worked as a wedding singer, a vocalist in discotheques from Milan to Jakarta, in cabarets in the red-light district of #Paris and as a club-land recording artist. 
His first single was a house-music record with #JoeTVannelli, which sold well in Russia.
Other songs by Pheel have been included on the official compilations for #SpaceIbiza, #Buddha-Bar by Ravin and #SaintGermaindesPrésCafé by Thievery Corporation.
In 2000, Pheel opened the Zurich Energy Street Parade in front of more than 1 million people, performing on the first truck ahead of 40 floats, the master-of-ceremonies welcoming the crowd to the event.
With his Italian band The Beautiful Sinners, he also opened for Gotan Project's Lunatico Tour in Puglia. 
More recently, he has worked with the parisians dandy deejays #Bart&Baker on four different records, and collaborated on remixes by #NicolaConte,  Chris Coco and Timo Janhs, the cool kid from D-Vision Records.
Pheel has also been immortalized as the multi-lingual protagonist in a video installation projected onto satellite dishes by the unconventional Spanish artist Francesca Marti’.

We are happy to welcome back a long time friend of our label and the family: DANIEL PORTMAN returns to Enormous Tunes after quite a while with this overwhelming 3 track EP. He promised the label team already in autumn 2015 to produce an EP for Enormous Tunes again and since then we were eagerly waiting in front of our mailbox to receive some demos. When we finally got the 4 tracks (1 track is scheduled to be a part of our Ibiza Nights compilation released on May 30) the whole office crew was dancing on the desks and we didn't had to think twice and signed the whole EP. RIJEKA is the principal seaport and the third-largest city in Croatia (after Zagreb and Split), but also the name of this EP and its title track for which Daniel teamed up with our in- house buddy CALIPPO. Together they created the first summer club hit in 2016. The track combines Daniel's signature techno and minimal sounds and Calippo's excessive use of organic instruments and classic house elements. The melodic brass breakdown section goes off like a big stadium anthem and teases with a traditional croatian folk choir chant that leads into the pumping and epic drops. CASA RUMBA also takes a mediterranean house direction. The native vocal raps build the signature here and together with the crispy percussion licks and conga loops they make the track a true summer beach weapon. For the friends of the more techier house music, Daniel produced CAHUENGA. A techno track with dark synth stabs, epic and progressive build ups and super hot drops. A must have EP for all the DJs who want to bring the summer a little closer to their crowd.

With its monstrous reverb and distinctive arpeggio synth breakdowns, ‘Up & Down’ is already a cult classic. First played on the Friday night dance show with Danny Howard, SP1DER & Joe Red’s ‘Music All Night’ got off to a storming start long before it was released. This tech house rocket ticks all the boxes for a future club go-to track as well as being radio friendly, with plenty of heavyweight climactic moments. The track builds to the 4:40min mark where it reaches its peak, no doubt doing some damage on the dancefloor. On the flip side, courtesy of this double up of Spanish producers, ‘Mighty Bad’ has some mighty moments, plunging from one powerful drop into the next. Expect to hear it on a dancefloor near you soon.

Daniel Portman was born and raised in the suburbs of Zurich, Switzerland. He fell in love with electronic music at a very young age: It was the late 90s, with all its ups and downs, when young Daniel started to test his musical abilities on an Akai2000 sampler and an old sequencer.

Mid 2000s his first EP “Backside / Evolution” was released on Unreleased Digital. Followed by the EP “I never sleep”. Tracks came up on labels such as Harem Records, Big & Dirty, Armada, AnjunaDeep or on PinkStar Records next to releases on his homebase label Unreleased Digital.
He’s also known for successful collab productions with Jerome Isma-Ae and Stanley Ross.

Rapidly he gained a big base of fans from all corners of the world, and his agenda got fully booked with DJ gigs on all continents. He made quite a heavy assault on the DJ scene performing on events in front of more than 10’000 people.

Over the years Daniel designed a forward thinking and unique style of house music, which can be described as a mixture of progressive house and techno. But also with an ability to infuse cutting edge machine music with soulful grooves. Therefore his productions regularly fill the top positions of Beatport’s Top 100 chart and are fast becoming staples for DJs everywhere.
