Founded in 1999 by Italian techno legend, Rino Cerrone, Rilis Rec
(the phonetic spelling of "release”) has been pushing a conceptual
take on tech house for a decade. Focused on providing functional,
loop-based tracks, the series has evolved from the original ten
untitled tracks to include special edition releases to create a .5 series.
A part of Naples influential techno scene since 1997, few can lay
claim to having been as prominent in formulating the cities famous
musical style as Rino Cerrone. Thirteen years on and Cerrone enjoys
a global reputation as one of the most respected innovators in techno
Fly House stays true to the classic Rilis template. Working up a tight
loopy groove as rich in textures as it is simple; the uncluttered,
spacious composition allows the hip-shaking percussive funk to shine
On the flip, To Be provides a tougher alternative with its rounded,
squelchy beats giving forward momentum to the deep dubbed out
groove and making a solid base for tense string to build atmosphere

Rino Cerrone To Be

For the BIRD EP, Julian Jeweil chose to use heavy sounds: mechanical yet melodic at the same time, while maintaining in parallel this pumping, very rhythm-oriented vibe for each of the five tracks. These are mainly the specific elements, reworked in various manners, that you will find in BIRD, AND WE, 153 ESSEX STREET, WAX and CONCEPT.

Long time Minus artist Jon Gaiser is back with his fourth studio album - III. 

Throughout his career, Jon Gaiser has been synonymous with forward thinking techno and sensory stimulating live audio visual shows. Mixing up both analogue and digital recording techniques, his abstract music never fails to be both cerebral and cinematic as well as fresh and physical, never ceasing to place you right in the centre of his own special universe.

Since 2014’s ‘False Light’, Jon has continued to headline shows around the world, while constantly producing new material to test in his live sets. Always evolving whilst remaining true to his singular vision for techno, this trained percussionist and skilled drummer once again confounds expectation with his latest opus.

When all the tracks here are added together into one musical experience, it makes for a fluid, expertly programmed ride that takes you somewhere new and exciting, as is always the case with the one and only Gaiser.

Multi-talented musician and producer Monolink joins Sabo's Sol Selectas Records clan this month with a splendid cut in 'Burning Sun'. The release comes stacked with an incredible ensemble of remixers, which includes Davi, Be Svendsen and Underyourskin' Just Emma. We're very excited to present the Just Emma edition in full premiere to When We Dip readers today. The German pair has crafted a simply sublime remix. Rising from the ashes, the tracks builds from a soothing intro to a chunky yet effortless groove. It rolls forth smothered in a mysterious, dreamy atmosphere, while the vocal remains centre stage. It's dropping June 9th exclusive to Beatport, and on all other stores June 23rd.

Club trends come and go, but Daniel Steinberg has been a constant creative force in electronic music for well over a decade. One of Berlin's most celebrated house & techno practitioners, Steinberg is a dance floor specialist with an ear for infectious hooks and addictive grooves.   

He's connected with some of the most well known names in electronic music, having remixed Claptone, Felix Da Housecat and Oliver Dollar. His own productions have been remixed by Roman Fluegel, Derrick Carter, 808 State, Crazy P, Paul Johnson, Nick Holder, DJ W!LD to name but a few. 

Steinberg's early output arrived on Jesse Rose's Front Room label with a string of releases including the latin house hit 'Bailando' and his debut album 'Shut up'. The focus shifted in 2011 to his own Arms & Legs imprint through which he released his subsequent albums 'Treptow' and 'Left-Handed' and club classics 'Joy & Happiness' and 'Let Me Down' that was re-released on Defected with a chart topping remix from Tube & Berger.

His DJ-ing has been similarly heralded having built a reputation as an artist who delivers serious fun to the dance floor. Daniel has played peak-time slots across the globe including Panorama Bar Berlin, Rex Club Paris, Baum Bogota, DC310 Mexico City, Razzamatazz Barcelona, Wire Festival Japan, Fusion Festival Germany. See him in a behind the decks and you'll immediately know why, his energy is infectious and his skill undeniable as he weaves together own brand of fun-fuelled house and techno, full of sly creative winks.
