Seit 2008 in Berlin gelandet, ursprünglich aus Portugal, hat sich Rute aka Root Olivenbaum wie ein gut gewässerter Olivenbaum fest verwurzelt – tief in den Beats, den Vibes und der Kunst des "Feelgood-Managements".

Mehr Selector als DJ, gräbt sie sich durch musikalische Schätze von Funk bis Bossa, von rare Covers bis Electronica – immer auf der Suche nach der perfekten Platte, die Hüften zum Schwingen und Herzen zum Hüpfen bringt. Ob in dunklen Clubs, auf sonnigen Stränden oder in stylishen Hotels – Rute sorgt für den Soundtrack zu den besten Momenten.

Nebenbei jongliert sie mit Zahlen, organisiert Menschen (und manchmal auch Chaos) und hält als Finanz-, Admin- & Management-Guru den Laden am Laufen. Von Excel-Tabellen zu Plattentellern – Multitasking ist ihr zweiter Vorname.

Berlin ist ihr Spielplatz, Europa ihr Tanzparkett, und online mixt sie regelmäßig feine Tunes für ihre wachsende internationale Hörerschaft. Ob mit Partner-in-Funk Mr. Malka oder solo – Root Olivenbaum bringt die Musik dahin, wo sie hingehört: direkt ins Herz.

More selector than DJ, she digs through musical gems from funk to bossa, from rare covers to electronica—always hunting for that perfect track that makes hips sway and hearts skip a beat. Whether in dark clubs, sunny beaches, or stylish hotels, Rute provides the soundtrack for unforgettable moments.

By day, she juggles numbers, organizes people (and sometimes chaos), and keeps things running smoothly as a finance, admin & management wizard. From spreadsheets to turntables—multitasking is her superpower.

Berlin is her playground, Europe her dance floor, and online she regularly shares finely curated mixes for her growing international audience. Whether solo or alongside her partner-in-funk Mr. Malka, Root Olivenbaum brings music where it belongs—straight to the soul.

Le Commandant Couche-Tôt is the brainchild of Berlin-based French keyboardist and composer Anthony Malka.  After 5 releases and 150+ gigs with his electro-funk trio The Hoo, he decided to dig deeper into his own piano compositions and create the character of Le Commandant Couche-Tôt:  a fictional hipster sailor inspired by Wes Anderson, a naive explorer travelling through fantasized islands and dystopian visions.   

He released 2 critically acclaimed EPs on Nancy based French label BMM Records feat. General Elektriks, UK neo-soul legend Omar Lye-Fook, Jamiroquai drummer Nick Van Gelder, Azymuth’s bassist Alex Malheiros.
Malka received support from David Blot (Nova Club), Worldwide FM, FIP, Jeremy Sole (KCWR), Macca (NTS), Andrew Jervis (Bandcamp Weekly), le Bureau Export, Délicieuse Musique and many more.
