GEM'X was a puzzle game on the Amiga computer, released around 1991. Super GEM'Z, the successor was never officially released due to the master disk being stolen at a trade show. A new game, which licensed the puzzle game elements and newly arranged music (including brand new tracks) is called Leona's Tricky Adventures (available now on the Steam platform). For the first time, the complete soundtrack of the classic versions as well as the new tracks from Leona is now available on Bandcamp.

Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris launches December 9, 2014 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

"The [Lara Croft Overture] presents Lara’s theme, performed on the English horn by Kristin Naigus. This was the first piece I wrote for the score, with the intention of creating a sonic guide for the rest of the soundtrack. I focused on showing the juxtaposition between Lara’s posh, educated British upbringing and her perilous archeological adventures. While most of this track intentionally steers clear of overtly Egyptian sounds, its ending introduces an Arabic flavor that characterizes the rest of the score."

"[Army of the Dead] is the tutorial level’s action theme. I wanted something fun and encouraging to start the game off, so I used a catchy bass rhythm and a high strings melody that immediately gives an Arabic feel. This track also shows a bit of the Indiana Jones influence in my use of brass climaxes and syncopated orchestral stabs."

This music, "Lunar Military Base", is the episode 1, level 3 soundtrack from Descent, a game developed by Parallax Software and released on the MS-DOS PC platform by Interplay in 1994.
It's the absolute original MIDI file from the game, as composed by Parallax composers team.

The purpose of this video is to demonstrate that MIDI files can actually sound very good when played with a nice synthesizer. 
Here, I used the free SynthFont SoundFont-compatible software synthesizer (http://www.synthfont.com) to reproduce a MIDI file using Arachno SoundFont, a custom General MIDI SoundFont bank I designed for my Sound Blaster Live! soundcard.
My bank features many famous sounds from the best synthesizers by Roland (D-50, Sound Canvas...), Korg (M1, X5...), Yamaha (MU, Clavinova...), Fairlight (CMI), E-MU (Emulator), Ensoniq...

The audio track has been recorded straight from SynthFont using my Arachno SoundFont bank and the MIDI file, dry, without any added effects.
Arachno SoundFont, as well as MP3 and OGG versions of this recording can be downloaded for free on my website, at http://www.arachnosoft.com

Cette musique, "Lunar Military Base", est celle du niveau 3 de l'épisode 1 du jeu Descent, développé par Parallax Software et distribué sur PC MS-DOS par Interplay en 1994.
Il s'agit de la véritable bande originale du jeu en format MIDI, telle que composée par l'équipe de musiciens de Parallax.

Le but de cette vidéo est de démontrer que les fichiers MIDI peuvent produire un excellent son lorsqu'ils sont joués sur un très bon synthétiseur.
Ici, j'ai utilisé le synthétiseur logiciel SynthFont, compatible SoundFont (http://www.synthfont.com) pour reproduire un fichier MIDI à l'aide d'une banque de sons General MIDI au format SoundFont, que j'ai créée pour ma Sound Blaster Live!.
