Have you ever wondered why you could never find a software synthesizer that is as good sounding and flexible as the hardware synthesizer/keyboards such as a Motif, Fantom, or Kronos? Pure Waves Synth (PWS) is a software based rompler AND synthesis library that has all of the bread-and-butter samples of a traditional hardware keyboard, combined with all of the synthesis techniques available in the most complex of digital and analog synthesizers. That is the concept of Pure Waves: We give you the "pure waveforms" in which to create any sound imaginable, rather than just giving you rompler style/static, samples that you cannot tweak much. Worst of all, if you ever want new inspiration and new sounds, you have to keep buying a ton of expansion packs with more samples, when you'd rather create your own unique custom sounds with the software you already have. But what if you are not a synth programmer? That is fine! We have professional synth programmers from around the world ready and willing to program new patches, so that you don't have to do all of the work.

This collaboration is the product of the contest we made for the Ruffcats concert in Cologne. The singer Réka Békefi overwhelmed us with her self- composed version on the instrumental version of "Ginger Dillinger" by The Ruffcats.

The Nearness Of You (jazz ballade)

Pirâmides de Cristal (Crystal Pyramids) was composed, using the same material of another work for orchestra called Tessares (1991). Both these pieces are inspired in fractal geometry. A fractal is a kind of structure that retains certain properties no matter to which level (microscopic or macroscopic) we observe it. Consequently, certain characteristics that are important in its overall shape are also present in its smallest details.
This piece is structured around certain harmonic combinations generated by specific intervals and notes. These harmonic structures are used continuously in the piece repeating themselves in different occasions and levels (microscopic or macroscopic), but its musical surface is always different each appearance. It is the combination of these repetitions and its interaction in time that suggests to the listener´s memory certain structural relations and a specific path in the earing and understanding of this work.

Daniel Hewson, is an award-winning composer / producer / arranger / pianist / trombonist with many compositions on Universal Production Music. Credits include Stomp's Lost and Found Orchestra, The Allegri String Quartet,  Incognito. He is the son of composer Richard Hewson (RAH Band, The Beatles, Carly Simon, Diana Ross, Cliff Richard, to name but a few). 
His compostions have been recorded and released on Universal Production Music, Audio Network, Music Chamber Records, and premiered live by Brother Tree Sound and the Reunion Big Band.
