String Quartet in G minor - Movement 1 - (2014)

The album is a retrospective of chamber works, created between 2000 and 2015. The album title is given due to one of the songs - a duet for violin and accordion Otto e Mezzo, eponymous to a film by Federico Fellini. The name, as in the case of the film, has no relation to the story, but only specifies the duration (in earlier versions). Generally, a reference to Fellini is not accidental for me, because in his films there is such a balance of reality and surrealism, which is very close to me. There are also “Eight and a half” pieces - along with eight "serious" compositions a “bonus track” called “Lullaby to Zahar” comes in as a comic dedication to a restless first-born. Each of the pieces of the album has its own internal plot, form and a compositional design. Since all the pieces belong to the genre of chamber music, it is very important for me to have an element of the game as if playing music in which instruments are characters and where they have their own unique look and come in a variety of relationships with each other.

"Voices of the twillight air" (2016) for female choir and symphonic orchestra

The piece "Voices of the twillight air" is inspired by Joseph Brodsky's poem "Drifting clouds".
Music of this piece incarnates an attempt to discover the inner link between poetical language of Brodsky and musical sound. 

Do you hear, do you hear in the grove children’s singing,
Over the twilight trees ringing, ringing voices,
In the twilight air vanishing, fading away slowly,
In the twilight air disappearing skies?

Shiny threads of rain are braiding among the trees,
And quietly babble, and quietly babble in the milky grasses.
Do you hear the voices, do you see the hair with red combs,
Small palms, extended to the dripping leaves?

“Drifting the clouds are; drifting the clouds, and fading…” –
‘Tis what the children are singing and singing, black branches stirring,
Voices are taking off between the leaves, between the trunks unsighted,
In the twilight air one can not embrace them, and can not bring back.

Only wet leaves are flying in the wind, hurrying away from the grove,
Flying away, as if they hear some distant and autumnal call.
“Drifting the clouds are …” – ‘tis what the children are singing at night, at night,
From the grass to tops, everything is pulsating, everything – quavering of voices.

Drifting the clouds are; ‘tis life that’s drifting, passing us by,
Get used, get used to it; ‘tis death we are carrying within,
Among the black boughs, are clouds with voices, with love…
“Drifting the clouds are …” – ‘tis what the children are singing about it all.

Do you hear, do you hear in the grove children’s singing,
Shiny threads of rain, braiding ringing voices,
Near the narrow peaks, in the new dusk, for a moment,
Once again you see, once again you see fading away skies?

Drifting the clouds are; drifting, drifting over the grove,
Somewhere water is rushing, only to weep and sing, along the autumn’s fences,
Ever to sob and sob, and ever to look up, be a child in the night,
And ever to look up, only to weep and sing, and to know no losses.

Somewhere water is rushing, along the autumn’s fences, along the trees unsighted,
In the new dusk is the singing, only to weep and sing, only the leaves to pile up.
Something’s above us. Something higher than us is drifting and fading away,
Only to weep and sing, only to weep and sing, only to live up.
